Aside from the Bible itself (as if that answer isn't obvious), what are some good Christ books/authors? Why do you consider these books to be of value for a Christian and their developing a stronger relationship with God? Are there Christian books/authors you would suggest Christians stay away from? If so, why?

walther's explanation of the blasphemy against the holy spirit is the best i have ever read...

My favourite author is John MacArthur Jr. I have read many of his books, almost all of them. I agree with the way he explains the Bible and his teachings. Many other authors get too much on the wrong track. I feel MacArthur is very close to the Bible.
