"serve?" More like desire. I think you said what I have been saying for a long time. Nice to see others out there that understand we have no idea what God is really like. Since no one has seen him that is, and few have actually held a conversation with him. (and Jesus doesn't count cause he ain't God)
I was with you all the until you said
(and Jesus doesn't count cause he ain't God)

and I said I didn't want this to be a debate so call I will say is that I disagree with you on this For I see Jesus as God , thank you for sharing Your thoughts on God with us

This topic fascinates me, but since the original post was written in one, big, long paragraph, I switched off and stopped reading.

I see God as someone who wants to teach the world to use a space bar. J/K, but seriously people, SPACE PLEASE! When you don't the post looks like one big mess of scrambled letters and it's hard to read.
I'm confused by this, I didnt notice anyone on this thread not use space bars. I totally understand that though cause I've noticed it b4 in other forums but it doesnt bug me as much as people not capitalizing the name of God. Am I mistaken in thinking mods read the posts in their entirety? I suppose that would be very time consuming but I just assumed all posts were moderated. Perhaps you are here in your pink outfit, not orange. :)

I think a simple way to say it is... It is not us that defines God Our Father. But God who defines himself to us.
God bless, pickles
Pickles that is the way it should be, But Romans 1 says that some have changed an incorruptible God into a corruptible being, so the point about shaping God as Aaron did the Golden Calf, even though God is this great Big God, He is only as big as you allow Him to big, He can heal some with others we have heard of him actually restoring as Jesus healed the withered hand, so we can make God to fit our belief of what He can do in our lives or even with our lives.

I am sorry you have to see this post as negative, I think you may be talking about my scriptures as the number of the verse runs with the verse . I apologize for this I have tried to correct, for I don't like it either, it is not like that when I copy the verse to the posting but when I submit the posting it comes out like That. but if this is what you are talking about maybe you could just look up the verses, yourself

The form of God--?

Well.. first -- there is only one God.. so I see not three seperate beings in teh trinity but one being expressing Himself in 3 substances or essences.

I see that whenever you see God manifest in physical form.. whether it be OT or NT.. it is Jesus... as in God in human form.

I see the Holy Spirit as personal, co-equal with the Father and Son as one being..and not an impersonal force.

I see Jesus-- as fully God and fully man.. equal with the Father.. the very image of the Father.. and expression of the Father..

I don know what Jesus looked like in human form.. I thought he must have looked Jewish.. like the others of his time.. but I read an interesting thing about how since He was conceived not by men but by God..put in Mary's womb.. then He could look quite different than those of His day. He did not have to look like either Mary or Joseph.

But yeah.. up to a point.. I can say what God is like.. but then He becomes beyond imagination when you consider How he created things.. how he holds things together.. His divine will etc etc.. can't box Him.. He is too big for that..

Psalm 92:5 O LORD, how great are your works! and your thoughts are very deep.

Psalm 40:5 Many, O LORD my God, are your wonderful works which you have done, and your thoughts which are to usward:
they cannot be reckoned up in order unto you: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.

(Psalm 139:2-4) Lord, you know my downsitting and my uprising, you understand my thoughts afar off.
You compass my path and my lying down, and are acquainted with all my ways.
For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, you know it altogether.

(KJV verses with modified thees and thous) :)
good post Wattie, thanks for your testimony for God

When Elijah or I forget who, asked to see God's form, God passe dhim by and he saw his back. The form of God looked like us because we are made in his image.
I believe the one you are talking about was Moses when Moses said He wanted to see the Glory of God, I guess I should have worded the thread different many folks think I am talking about the physically image , But I want to know who God is to you not what He look like??

I believe the Lord is all-knowing, all-powerful, perfect in every way, and I also believe the Lord has feelings.

very good point Bob recently I had asked God how Christians could abuse His Love and judge people into hell, mistreat other christians like they do, trampled His Holy Word as if it was just another book and He spoke to me through the Spirit and said that satan had convinced some that the pain of sin ended at Calvary, but that He still very much felt the Pain of sin each time on of His Children sinned. so yes I very much agree with you The Lord does have feelings.

I'm confused by this, I didnt notice anyone on this thread not use space bars. The very first post in this thread had a chunk of text in ONE BIG PARAGRAPH.

I couldn't read it all because I switch off when I see a bunch of jumbled letters, it just becomes a big blur. It's actually not a big deal, I was just being facetious and trying to bring a lil humour into the thread.

Don't get me wrong, lack of spacing drives me nuts, but this was just me trying to lighten up the thread.

In answer to your question, no mods don't sit here and read every single post on every single thread. (a) we don't have the time, (b) we don't have the mods either. Yes the forums are moderated but not 24/7 just like the rooms, because we simply don't have the rescources to cater for this. That is why there is a 'report post' button on all threads. If you see something that you deem inappropriate then report the post, it goes direct to the mods. Then, when the next mod is available, they will check it out.

Hope that makes sense :)

No problem Thaddeus, I was actually responding to Stand_up_for_God.

I'm sorry, I don't mean to come across as anal-retentive on this issue. These things just jump out at me. I simply cannot stand poor grammar, incorrect spelling and lack of punctuation. Perhaps I should have been a teacher?

So honestly dude, don't take it personally, those who know me know that this is just who I am. My goal is to teach the world to spell, use a space bar, use correct grammar, and discover punctuation.

Carry on with your debate. :)

Dear Ms. iraasuup,

I think that it was your intention to state you meant imoss. In error you stated that you were responding to Stand up for God. I acknowledge this and fully understand your post.

I would like to futher apologise for most of my posts as although I capitalize the name of God; my grammar, punctuation and spelling leave much to be desired.

Best Regards and Gods Blessing to you,

imoss :D

Haha right you are. I stand corrected. Humblest apologies. I honestly thought I was responding to Stand lol. Maybe that's a sign I have spent too much time in forums today. Time for coffee I think :)

I do need to know my mark for my letter composition. I figure i deserve a B. I couldnt indent, the forum format wouldn't allow an indent. Hope you received it in the joyful spirit in which it was sent.

Please do not be so hard on some. I have mild dyslexia, a word recall issue, spelling disabuility, and anything longer than one or two paragraphs, causes the words to look like a jumbled mass of letters to me. I just wanted to let you know that for some it is the best we can do. No worries though. smile and God bless, pickles

I think one of the things that gets in the way of knowing or understanding God is we keep trying to create an image. When I was a little girl I was told that we could not see God because he is so great and loving that his light would blind us. I wanted to find a way to see him anyway. So I figured if I practiced looking at the sun, it was the brightest thing I knew, I could get used to the light of the sun. I figured when the sun didnt hurt my eyes anymore I would be able to see God. My mom found me staring at the sun one day and made me stop. She told me it would blind me. The funny thing was it never hurt my eyes untill she told me that.
All my life I have sought a way to know the mind of God and see him some how. It is in the last few years I came to understand that we cannot see him with our minds or eyes or will. I have come to know that in order to know him we have to submit to him, we have to allow him to hold and guide all that we are. The best way I can say it is like trying to hold the ocean in your hand. It is impossible. You have to let the ocean hold you, become a part of it to know it.
One with God to know him.
God bless, pickles
