If drinking causes you to sin, throw it away. If it doesn't cause you to sin, but causes someone else, you should still throw it away because it will encourage others that are weak to still keep on drinking.

Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. [h=3]1 Peter 5:8[/h]

Drunkenness? Yes.

Drinking? No.

Unfortunately, for many the two go hand in hand.

I used to say that the bible is against drinking, as long as I don't drink too much because if you do anything too much it will become a sin. Eating, drinking of water or wine, junks, talking too much etc. The bible said that if your right arm will cause you to sin, you will remove it, be it your eyes or ur leg so that you can be able to enter the kingdom of God. Whenever I drink in the past, I will start thinking of sex, having fun in a wrong way, laughing at people and this makes me to sin everytime so I had to stop drinking. My answer to you is that you should be the Judge, Does Drinking make sin?

drinking isn't a sin
getting drunk is a sin
its a fine line for some
but some people require a little wine or a little whiskey to ease physical discomfort
the bible doesn't condemn it for medicinal purposes

1Ti 5:23 Drink no longer water, but use a little wine for thy stomach's sake and thine often infirmities.

The word is oinos and it is the same word found here...

Eph 5:18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;

Jdg 9:13 And the vine said unto them, Should I leave my wine, which cheereth God and man, and go to be promoted over the trees?

So God drinks wine.

Why do you suppose Christ was accused of being a wine bibber instead of a grape juice bibber? Overindulgence in grape juice would be gluttony, not wine bibbing.

Drinking is not a sin, as even Jesus turned the water into wine. Apostle Paul states that a bit of wine is good for the stomach. However, it clearly states that being drunk is a sin, and no drunkards will enter the kingdom of Heaven. If drinking if an addiction for you, then give it up. If even ONE drink causes you to harm someone else, give it up. All things in moderation. If you cannot control your alcohol, then you must have a problem with addiction, and you need help. Eating is not a sin, but gluttony is. Drinking is not a sin, but getting drunk is.

First of all read the words of Solomon. Secondly, if you study history, there are two different meanings of wine. The greek dude, I can'y remember his name. Wrote that the wine they drank was 23 parts water and 1 part wine. Then later another dude wrote that it was 12 parts water and 1 part wine. Anyway it would take, from the later, 23 glasses of wine to equal 1 martini.

Is that to say say that people didn't get drunk, of course not. Grapes were harvested at one time. this had to last till the next season. so it was watered down and used to kill bacteria in the water. most got drunk on a drink made from dates. which yielded more alcohol content than the grape. just like corn liquor or rim made from sugar cane.

Not everyone who takes a drink is an alcoholic but and an alcoholic took his first drink.

Why try to defend drinking alcohol anyway, what is your true motive??
if you all trust in your own heart's defense of the legality of the consumption of alcohol, God could still consider it a sin even if you do not believe it is.

Is it worth it to put your soul on the line by living in a drinking habit?

God also condemns passion for things of this world.
