If you ever have a thought where you can say to yourself, where did that come from? That's not me.....And you rebuke it, it's not your thought.

Only use the Word. Thy Word is truth. Rebuke everthing else.

I do not think that is bizarre.

There are three ways to get "other thoughts into our minds.
1) Mental hallucinations (psychosis), such as schizophrenia.
2) Physical hallucinations. This can be from taking drugs or from high fevers.
3) Dissociative Identity Disorder (Multiple personality disorder). This is not a hallucination but the result of compartmentalization of pain from traumas before the age of 14.
4)Demon(s). Demons can speak internally to a person.

Personally I believe the voices heard by schizophrenics are rooted in the demonic. It has been reported the schizophrenics have been healed once several demons have been cast out. This is detailed in the book "Pigs in the Parlor" By Rev. Hammond.

The big question is how do we know if it is our own thoughts or not. I guess that would depend on which of the above case a person has. Demons can drop suggestions into a person's mind. The best way to figure out if it is demonic is to see if it is tempting you to sin, but this is not a voice per se. Beyond that I am not sure.

Bring our mind in subjection to the Holy Spirit, and cast down imaginations.Use scriptures," say" what the word say's.
Cast those thoughts down and make them obey the word , bring them in obedience, use the shield of faith:)
Victory is your's in Jesus name:) Meditate on the word

Hi Again Josh - Great question, and one every believer (regardless of age in the Lord) has to continually think about. The Bible answers your question In Heb 5:14.

Heb 5:14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

Simply become very familiar with the Bible.
