There is a complete continuation biblically of the New Testament. Where can any cessation be proven? The offices of the Church, the gifts of the Spirit, the doctrine of the apostles, are never cessed by Scripture. That which is perfect can be many things because "every" (more than one) good and PERFECT gift comes from the Father.

Can someone today claim God revealed to them a new revelation, write it down, then claim it's an additional authority to follow?

If no, which scriptures do you use to back that up?

Of course there are people who can make a claim as to the example you provided, but that does not make such a claim true. However, while I am a Christian who has been justified by the grace of Christ, I believe "that which is perfect" is in reference to the 'Second Coming.' Christ is "that which is perfect," but this world is still a very corrupt place, and it follows that spiritual gifts have not ceased.

What if people are exercising those gifts with out the fireworks?
That's what I think is continuing to happen.
How much more awesome would it be to lay hands on a person and pray for healing without them knowing you did it, they receive a miraculous healing, you get no credit whatsoever, and they go back to a church that praises God for the miracle of healing?
Than to have people following you around and giving you credit just because you can do magic?

What does continue are God's plans. And the believers actions. According to scripture.

Going to spread the gospel to those that dont have them, taking out evil spirits, healing the sick, and helping the poor, etc.

These all continue .The scripture however is complete at this point. We are in the season of the end of this age. So there are no scriptures going to be written if that is what you meant .(" old testament "apocryphal writings are already to read if you care to. they are recorded in the manuscripts with the rest of the scriptures )

Was there any authority to these books?

II Chronicles 9
[SUP]29 [/SUP]As for the other events of Solomon’s reign, from beginning to end, are they not written in the records of Nathan the prophet, in the prophecy of Ahijah the Shilonite and in the visions of Iddo the seer concerning Jeroboam son of Nebat?

You wouldn't deny that their prophecies were genuine, would you?

Lol nice lil wiggle out there.
I think you know what I mean.
My question wasn't does someone have the ability to make that claim.
My question is, is the canon still open for someone to write a completely new book today, or tomorrow, or in the future, and if no, what scriptures do you use to support a no answer.

Another who doesn't get the question..

Let me reword.

Lets say the two witnesses of Revelation write a book inspired by the Spirit, would that be Scripture? If so then the cannon is still open.
