I agree right up to verse six...
Rev 12:6 And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.
OK, this gets a little complicated but the first thing we need to determine is the vantage point in time that Revelation is viewing from...
Rev 17:9 And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth.
Rev 17:10 And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space.
First of all, the woman here is a great false religion...
Rev 17:3 So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.
Notice that the woman sits on a Beast with seven heads (seven resurrections) and ten horns.
Rev 17:4 And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication:
Rev 17:5 And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.
Rev 17:6 And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.
This woman presides over the persecution and martyrdom of true Christians, you do remember reading about the inquisition, don't you?
Rev 17:7 And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns.
She is carried by the Beast. She sits on the Beast and guides it.
Rev 17:9 And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth.
Rev 17:10 And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space.
This is very important, it reveals the viewpoint of the book. The sixth head or resurrection of the Holy Roman Empire.
Rev 17:11 And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition.
Rev 17:12 And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.
The ten horns are also the ten toes of Dan 2...
Dan 2:40 And the fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron: forasmuch as iron breaketh in pieces and subdueth all things: and as iron that breaketh all these, shall it break in pieces and bruise.
Rome
Dan 2:41 And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters' clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay.
Dan 2:42 And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken.
Dan 2:43 And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay.
Dan 2:44 And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.
The days of the ten toes, the ten kings (the ten horns of revelation) is the time that Christ returns and establishes the Kingdom.
Now who is the sixth head? First of all there, the seven heads (mountain is a symbol for nation or kingdom) are seven revivals or resurrections of the fourth beast, Rome 31BC to 476AD.
1st head - Justinian in 554AD who recognized the supremacy of the Pope.
2nd head - Charlemagne crowned by the Pope in 800AD
3rd head - Otto the Great crowned by the Pope in 962AD
4th head - Charles V crowned by the Pope in 1520AD
5th head - Napolean crowned by the Pope in 1805AD
6th head - (the one that is) Mussolini and Hitler 1939-1945AD
This is the vantage point.
7th head - the one who is not yet come
This is the final revival of the Beast and again will be ridden by the whore.
Now back to Rev 12, notice that verse 6 is past tense? The true church (ekklesia) hid from the great false church for 1260 years of persecution and martyrdom including the inquisition. This is history now, but it was not fulfilled 70AD. Now drop down to verse 14...
Rev 12:14 And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.
This is future tense, it has not happened yet. Also, notice the time is not 1260 days but time, times and half a time? 3-1/2 years. The same 3-1/2 years of the tribulation, the same 3-1/2 years of the two witnesses. The sign for this to begin is the AoD.
