Ezekiel 36:21 But I had concern for My holy name, which the house of Israel had profaned among the nations wherever they went.

Have we dishonored God's name in society? A man who claims to have a personal relationship with God out living just like he is of the world. Is this biblical? Is not anyone in Christ a new creature?

Why is it that the morality statistics in america inside and outside the church are a mirror reflection?

I will tell you why, and the blame is laid at the feet of the church.

The modern church has made the Gospel cheap. This is either done out of ignorance of the Gospel or in a money/pride grab to increase church membership.

How can you, ohh man ask someone 5 questions, and given the responses you sometimes even coax out of them, declare them saved and born again? Do you take the seat of God? Can you like Jesus look into the man's heart?

The forgiveness of sins is an act of God, not man.

Stop lying to people to make them feel better. Their is a clear doctrine in the bible that points out to a man his hopeless state. We are told to call on the name of the Lord, NOT fill out a card and answer a few questions, how can they call on whom they have not believed?

Their blood lies on your hands, every person who you declare saved and leaves church not to return, living out their carnal lives thinking themselves saved when the wrath of God sits upon their head for believing your lie.

Repent.

Glory to God.

The church has failed to follow God's Laws and teach the next generation to do the same. In
America, it seems the only time God is acknowledged is at times such as 9/11. Man spends
his life denying his need for God but runs to God as soon as things get too big for him to
handle.

But I would caution you about passing judgment on the church which is God's Bride. It is not
just the church's responsibility to teach God's Word but also the responsibility of every
Christian. If you are unhappy with the failure of the church to tell others about Christ, you
can tell others yourself. Regardless of whether or not you are telling others about Christ,
as a Christian, we are not to judge other Christians. We are commanded to correct our
brothers and sisters in Christ in love.

Don't be so hard on the church. Try to focus on doing your part to tell others about Jesus.
Telling others about Jesus is the main mission of Christians.

I understand what your saying, but just because I make bold statements doesn't mean it isn't done out of love. Jesus was stern, the apostles were stern, not that I'm comparing myself to them but as part of the church it's painful to see people lied too. It is plain to see the lie by it's fruit.

You should know it's our duty to rebuke our brother. As the verse I qouted states, His name has been profaned by the church. If you have witnessed much at all,(I have little experience), yet from my experiences so far, a non-believers first charge against God is that christians are a very carnal bunch, therefore where is the power of God? I've had it said to me that alteast muslims and buddists pursue a holy lifestyle while christians show no such fruit.

I bring this charge to the feet of the church.

Also, I'm not talking about a works salvation or anything. But that we should not be telling goats that they are sheep. Because then they think they are sheep and tell people they are, I am not talking about sheep that aren't yet perfected, because even a babe in Christ will serve as a notable contrast to the world. That is TRUE. It takes awhile for a goat to be trained to act like a sheep, but being born of spirit will radically change a person.

declare them saved and born again? Do you take the seat of God? Can you like Jesus look into the man's heart?
John 13
35 By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.

Matthew 7
15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.
16 You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles?
17 Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit.
18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit.
19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.
20 Therefore by their fruits you will know them.

The forgiveness of sins is an act of God, not man.
John 20
21 So Jesus said to them again, “Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.”
22 And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit.
23 If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained.”

2 Timothy 4
2 Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching.
3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers;
4 and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.

This is why we need to stop diluting the Gospel with man's opinion and stick to God's Word.

Would you like me to post verses that show the rebukes from Jesus, the apostles, the prophets, or Moses?

John 20
21 So Jesus said to them again, “Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.”
22 And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit.

You understand that it's the Holy Spirit of God and not you that does the forgiving correct?

Exactly what I was saying, thanks for the post.

You gotta tell me sometime how to do the multi-qoute thing.

You see the Bold/Italic/Underline thing? Well on that same line keep going all the way over to the right to Wrap
.. That is how you do it.

Okay so that makes sense.Good point. You are right the Holy Spirit does forgive the sins I agree.

But I believe that you can tell a disciple of Christ by their love or their fruit.

Paul David Washer said in one of his sermons.......You don't tell men they are saved, you tell them how to be saved. The Holy Spirit will tell them they are saved. I think he was right on the money. Shocking Youth Message on youtube is about an hour long and takes place at a Youth Retreat. I believe Paul Washer hits the nail right on the head with this one.

I agree, i watched that particular sermon ..saw the title and i thought" this outta be good" had to find out what was sooo shocking this man taught .What amazed me was the fact that people were 'shocked' by his preaching against sin!! I loved the sermon and feel we dont have near enough of this kind of preaching these days.

I have seen the fruit of both ways in my own life, there is a big difference between the two. That being a man telling you that your saved or the Holy Spirit expressing of God's love and truth.

Okay so we have God's word saying you can tell a disciple of Jesus by their love and their good fruit.
Then you have man saying you cannot tell a disciple of Jesus.

Your choice.

You know them by their fruit. You don't tell them they are saved by pointing out their fruit. That verse is talking about true teachers is it not? You should know that their are pharisee types to this day. They wash the outside of the cup, but the inside is full of wickedness and abominations.

What love or fruit could a pastor possibly see in someone who comes forward at an altar call? Are the answers to the questions that said fruit? Washer is talking about the Holy Spirit bringing truth to the person. Jesus said the Holy Spirit would testify of HIM.

Honestly are modern day churches the place to go for a person seeking salvation? So many it seems are scared of offending people that the wrath of God is so watered down most brush it off. I'm sure this isn't true of all churches but look for example at TV preachers(bad example honestly). I can't remember seeing a sermon that's intent was to convict a non believer, or the body really. God's wrath is not something to beat around the bush about, and the truth about man's condition is very important to relate to them also. I mean, most think they are decent people, not deserving of God's wrath. The truth of the matter is sharper than any two edged sword that cuts into the heart of men.
