So I thought this would be fun yet challenging [maybe not for some]. I want you guys to pretend a unsaved friend of yours came up to you with the question of "What is this gospel???" and they just got done reading the book of John but still didn't understand it.

The challenge is:

1. Fully explain the gospel and what we believe in
2. Explain the important parts of Christian points (why did Jesus die or what is resurrection)
3. Use scripture to back up points

Pretend you're witnessing to an actual person. Nicene and the apostle creed isn't detailed, those are just main points in Christianity, we need the depths.

(Btw it doesn't matter how long, as long as the message is fully brought and helps the reader understands)

How do you present the good news?

Welcome to a "type" of Language arts Class :D

We were brought up in this world, and we were trained in things that we are so accustomed to. If someone stole from us we would demand it back, if someone called us a name we would shun that person from our social group. These things are called greed, envy, and pride. AKA the fall of man.

The prince of peace, Jesus, who is destined to be a King, came here to demonstrate and lay down the blueprints of Christianity. Everyone wants a king like Jesus. There was many divisions among the people who listened to Jesus and they divided because of the bold statements he made while he was on this earth. He showed us what true love really is, loving his enemies that rebuked him and tried so hard to bring him down and plotted so much to kill him, he loved them. He gave us directions on how to be a disciple, its rather simple. Deny your own self, deny your possessions and give your life to the people in this world, just like Christ did.

Jesus was THE LIFE. people go to vegas and say "this is the life,"

Jesus had almost nothing in this world and his life was more full and more fantastic than anyone else could imagine.

So we were stained and blemished by this fall of man, but Jesus, loving his enemies, took away our stains by counting his perfect blood to us.
Not only that, he gave us his Holy Spirit in this reconciliation because we were made full in Christ. So now that we have the Holy Spirit, we can fulfill Jesus' commands like "raise the dead" and "heal the sick"

These things are still very possible, Jesus showed us that our God is love and he is very simple. He will answer yes to anything that Jesus would also ask for.

Jesus became who we WERE, on the crucifix.

WE WERE SIN.

He became that on the cross, so that we WOULD BECOME WHO HE IS OFF THE CROSS

He was Perfect.

We can become just like him. truly loving our enemies by second nature. Jesus didn't "try not to sin" he chased after God, and the sin ran away from him. Jesus didn't "try to love his enemies" He just DID!

IT was his second nature.

It will be our second nature. SO BELIEVE

BECAUSE GOD ALREADY SAID YES TO THIS AMAZING LIFE. JUST BECOME LIKE HIM. DONT TRY TO BUILD A TOWER TO HEAVEN.

Can I just copy/paste from my website? (well, I'm about to anyways)

The Need for a Savior
Many people define sin as a list of things not to do. Some say sin is disobeying God's commands. Others describe sin as wrong-doings that a person commits against others, against themselves, or against God. These are all true, but I'd like to add another key detail to this. At its core, sin separates us from God.

Behold, the Lord's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save, or his ear dull, that it cannot hear; but your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden his face from you so that he does not hear.
Isaiah 59:1-2

Romans 3:23 also tells us that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Therefore, in order remove this separation we have from God, we need our sins to be removed (forgiven).

For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 6:23

This makes it seem impossible to come into a relationship with God, but there is one way, which is through Jesus Christ, who was crucified allthought he had committed no crime. Then on the third day Christ rose again from the dead (Matthew 28:6). God sent His Son to earth in order to conquer death, paying the price so that we didn't have to, and now we are able to come into a relationship with God.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
John 3:16

Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
John 14:6

How Do We Enter This Relationship With God?
There are two key ingredients to entering this relationship with God, faith (John 3:16), and repentance. There are two parts to repentance, confessing your sins, and turning away from them.
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.1 John 1:9
Some people stop here, and mistakenly use this verse as a "free pass" to engage in sin as much as they want. This however, would not be repentance, and would not lead to salvation. In John 8:1-11, we see a woman who is guilty of prostitution. She was about to be stoned to death when Jesus said, "Let him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone at her." One by one, they left. Then Jesus said to the woman, "Neither do I condemn you; go, and from now on sin no more."
Jesus didn't tell her to return to a life of prostitution. And likewise, repentance involves making an honest attempt to turn away from your sins, and to turn towards God. Jesus will be there to forgive us when we do stumble. If you would like to begin a relationship with God and have everlasting life with Him, speak these words aloud:
"Dear Jesus, I confess that I am a sinner, and in need of your forgiveness. I believe you died on the cross, and rose again from the dead to forgive me of my sins and give me a new life. Make me into the person you want me to be. Come into my heart. I receive you right now. In Jesus name, Amen."
The Bible says that if you said that prayer and meant it with your heart, God's angels in heaven are rejoicing (Luke 15:10).
What's Next?
This is just the first step in the Christian walk. This is not a "one and done" deal. Get into a good Bible based church. The Christian walk is about becoming more Christ-like, and having a personal relationship with God. Baptism is another one of the next steps, and is a command from Jesus (Matthew 28:19).
I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.Galatians 2:20
For I desire steadfast love and not sacrifice, the knowledge of God rather than burnt offerings.Hosea 6:6
God wants us to get to know Him. He's looking for your love. We can get to know God through several ways, the biggest being to read the Bible. There are various study plans out there that can help guide you. I would recommend starting with one of the four Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John). You can also find a group of friends and have a Bible study.

Love God - half of every commandment
Love others - the other half of every commandment
Wherever you know that you fall short, turn the other way - repentance

If you do these things, you can enter the kingdom of heaven right now, which is God Himself conversing with you, spoken by signs, in everything around you.

Those who embrace it, are already in eternal life, which is viewing yesterday, today, and tomorrow, as life.
Those who do not, are already in eternal damnation, which is viewing yesterday, today, and tomorrow, as agony.

And don't worry about the "afterlife", everything's gonna be alright.

That's as far as I would go unless they have additional questions.

1 Corinthians 15:1-4 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

That is the kernal, the core, the essentials...

So many different views in how to present it! Thanks for replying! It seems that some Christians tackle with this and some want to prevent this from ever having this coming up to them because they don't know how to present the gospel.

May God bless your ways and help you fully complete the great commission by truth! :D

Abraham as faithful to his creator that God loved him so much. Now God inorder to show his love for him gave him a covenant that the whole nation will be blessed thru his seed.

Gn 22:18 And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.

Now God was not mentioning abt Isaac, but Jesus Christ, who was a descendant of Abraham in flesh.

Ga 3:16 Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.

Till the messiah come, God ruled his people thru the law that he gave. And made the people realised how important it was for them to have a messiah who can save them from all the mess. Now they were not able to fulfill the law as God commanded. Prophets prophesised abt the coming of the Messiah and abt the new covenant God is going to have with humans.

Zch 8:8 And I will bring them, and they shall dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God, in truth and in righteousness.

The appointed time came, for the messiah to save his people from the sin. Mary gave birth to Jesus. He grew , full in holy spirit.Knowing that he is going to be the passover lamb for the whole world he lived 33 years in this world and gave himself as a attonment for the sins of us. While he was alive he taught us how to do the will of the father (sermon on the mount), what to do and what not to do

Jesus fulfilled the promise given to Abraham by dying on the cross. He resurrected on the 3rd day which gave us the faith in resurrection. and sat on the right hand side of God. The new covenant was established which zechariah prophesied...holy spirit is given to us. Salvation is the main purpose of the Gospel. We are saved from the world of sin, from the carnal mind, from the lustfull flesh, from unrighteousness etc....

Death was abolished by him. It is true we still die but Jesus won victory over death, by giving us eternal life after death.

Gospel tells us abt the love of God and his son. We being sinners he came for us sinners.

Ro 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

That is the love that the gospel spreads. the love of his son, who was god/ in the form of God...not for his reason, but for sinners like us became in the form of man, took all the pain for no reason of his, for us.

Phl 2:6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
Phl 2:7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
Phl 2:8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

The law was fulfilled by Jesus christ and we no longer are under the law. Now it is not the work or rituals that will save us, but just believe in Jesus Christ, in his resurrection and do the will of God. U are saved. It is a curse for us if we being under the law do not fulfill it. but now we are free. We are under the "law of liberty". Have faith in God and wait to see Jesus who saved us coming for the second time to take us to his kingdom.

Hello,

This is how I would explain salvation,

It is God’s answer to man’s fallen state to reconcile and bring Him back from eternal separation. God gave us the law to show us that we needed a savior, and that we are incapable in our current state to obey the law perfectly. We cannot satisfy God’s wrath by doing works or performing good deeds. Jesus in his perfection became man, and continued in the flesh to perform perfectly from birth to the cross. He satisfied God’s impending wrath to release us from the punishment we deserved.
What I would tell the average person on the street about salvation is that God loves you, in fact, so much He sent His Son Jesus to die in your place. He did this because He cannot tolerate sin and that the Bible says, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (NIV, p. 1882). He further knew that no matter what we did to pay the cost it would never satisfy the justice needed to pay the price. So Jesus willingly took the shape of the human form and lived His live as God in flesh, showing us how to live righteously. Because of His sinless life and obedience God accepted His sacrifice on the cross to pay our sin debt in full for now and through all the age of mankind. If we accept this free gift of salvation inviting Christ into our hearts as our personal savior; we are accepted as a child of God and will live forever with Him in heaven.

God is love. At a point, man became afraid of God and left His presence and Hid.

God had to seek them out and fix what they hid. But man was sought and found by God.

Christ tells the story of the prodigal. The gist of it is simply this, no matter how dirty, spiritually or physically, HE is waiting for you to come home. He's forgiven the need to be afraid, your wrongs are forgiven. He is waiting for a chance to see you, meet you, embrace you, sing for you, and change you. The changed you will be his instrument of righteousness on earth. But it won't be burdensome because you are an instrument of love, and you will be how God exercises His love on earth. Well, one of the ways. Who is going to feel burdened helping a widow stay fed, or any other example of what Paul describes as Christian works.

This is the Gospel message. Come home, and let Him change you. The reward is peace, love and happiness. I'm a Christian Agnostic. I can't say for sure I KNOW there is a god, any more than you can. But I trust there is. And I believe, rationally at least, that there is. But, KNOW there is???? I think anyone making that claim is whack. :)

Bump. It seems our commission skills in the church are lacking since not a whole lot of people can explain. Or have time to explain. Just think about the idea of an actual unbeliever coming to them and they are speechless...

We know that we have a struggle in this life, this struggle goes all the way back to the beginning when Adam and Eve sinned, and God said to the serpent:
Gen. 3:15And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her seed; He shall bruise you on the head, And you shall bruise him on the heel."

Someone from the seed of the woman will crush the serpent's head, though the seed of the serpent will only be able to bruise His heel.

Jesus was the seed of the woman, He overcame Satan, He overcame sin. Believe in Him. John 6:47 "He who believes has eternal life."

The gospel is the good news that He has confirmed that He will save all men. But who has believed our report?
