You really believe he died for no one. If it is all by chance, and free will then Christ just died hoping that someone might trust.

I am sure it will be argued that a persons will is not a matter of 'chance'.

It is God's will that man should perish but, that all should repent to everlasting life. However, that is not reality, many will not believe because, of what they have been taught or just plain stubbornness. Look after Jesus Himself reigns on Earth for a thousand years. Satan will be released for a season and many will join him and try to overthrow Jesus. That is amazing to me, but it inscribed in man to be his own god. Which is why we so desperately need the cross.
