I think recognition of arrogance is the first step (which you seem to have done). Then confession and prayer. Then trust GOD to work meekness in your heart.

Proverbs 18:12Before a downfall the heart is haughty, but humility comes before honor.

Isaiah 13:11
I will punish the world for its evil, the wicked for their sins. I will put an end to the arrogance of the haughty and will humble the pride of the ruthless.

Matthew 23:12
For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.

James 4:10
Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.

1 Peter 5:6
Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.

By mercy and truth iniquity is cleansed: and by the fear of the LORD men depart from evil. Proverbs 16:6

My intepretation:

By [trusting in GOD's] mercy and [confessing the] truth [of our sin], iniquity is cleansed: and by the fear of the LORD men depart from evil. Proverbs 16:6

Meekness is power under control
Gentleness is dealing with others with a light hand

For arrogance - you have to humble yourself

Humble yourself under the mighty hand of God, and He will exult you

You cannot be humble, you have to humble yourself(an action)

Jrccomputer, I pray God change your ARROGANCE, to BOLDNESS .... And I mean THIS BOLDNESS....
Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.

Lord Jesus, I pray that You will change his arrogance to YOUR BOLDNESS, AND ME TOO PLEASE LORD... AMEN! Lord my ONLY wish is to be AS YOU ARE IN THIS WORLD, AMEN!

1 Corinthians 13:4-8, "Love is patient, and is kind; love is not jealous; love is not boastful, is not puffed up Does not behave rudely, does not seek its own (advantage), is not provoked; thinks no evil; Does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; Does not betray, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will be fulfilled; where there are languages, they will cease; where there is knowledge, it will be replaced (by complete truth)."

Meekness is simply letting God lead. Arrogance is telling God, like the little two year old does "I can do it myself". You know God created you and the earth we live on, and God operates it. God tells us how He wants us to behave in His world so it runs smoothly, arrogance simply gums up the works. We can step out boldly when we learn from our Lord the path He wants us to take.

Meek means humble, if its meekness toward yahweh than certianly its about submitting to Yahweh.

The most important meekness to have is toward Yahweh.

But meek in itself simply means:
Greek word # 4235:
Thayer's (New Testament Greek-English Lexicon)
A form of G4239, used in certain parts; gentle, that is, humble:—meek.

1 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. 2 Trust in the Lord with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and turn away from evil. It will be healing to your body And refreshment to your bones.

Proverbs (1) 9:10,(2) 3:5-8 NASB

To fear is to reverence God and who He is. Remember no one is higher than God, and to lean your full trust in Him and not yourself, will humble you as well.

Jesus speaking:matthew 11:28-30 come unto me all ye who labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you and learn of me, for I am meek and lowly in heart and you shall find rest unto your souls.
For my yoke is easy and my burden is light
I find that when we spend time with Jesus in his presence and in his word we will automatically find ourselves becoming just like him.
We will find ourselves picking up his characteristics.
Its just like how we become like the people we hang around and socialize with.
He is the most meek, humble and loving person I have ever been around and it just amazes me everytime i'm around him how someone with so much authority, power and majesty could have such a demeanor about him.
That's why the children of Israel missed him the first time he came because they could not fathom that someone so humble and meek could be the messiah they had waited so long for even though he fulfilled all the prophecies about himself.
I think a lot of Christians are making the same mistake today by looking for Jesus in modern day Christianity which has become a big business by marketing Jesus.
