Please Put the Actual Words

Often we are reading a post and chapter and verse number is furnished rather than the actual Holy Scripture.

As most of us know, chapter and verse numbers were added to the Old Testament, thus while our Lord was here, and His disciples, they would never give numbers in place of words as references. I believe we owe it to our brethren and to our Salvation to practice the same.

Of course there are those exceptions where the referenced scripture is quite lengthy, so then it may, and only may, merit giving just the numbers.

Put all the words, for those new, and for those seeking. It is every so helpful.

I try the to key in scriptures, but when my hands and fingers cramp up, I do only the best I can.

There will always be exceptions for good reason. I almost always look up the numbers, but some folks are not that adept for varied reasons, from not having the references at hand to physical restrictions. I have my handy dandy Bible software making it a click or two to look up, but some are just lazy (me sometimes.)

I agree. These forums also come up on google, so we never know when a non believer might stumble upon a thread and end up reading the word
