Romans 9

11 (For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth;)

12 It was said unto her, The elder shall serve the younger.

13 As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.

14 What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? God forbid.

15 For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.

16 So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.

17 For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth.

18 Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he hardeneth.

19 Thou wilt say then unto me, Why doth he yet find fault? For who hath resisted his will?

20 Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus?

21 Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?

22 What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction:

23 And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory,

24 Even us, whom he hath called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles?

Yes, the all knowing God has already written it... And he is the one who is running the show, not us....

Isa 46:10 Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times [the things] that are not [yet] done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:

He knows what the end would be from the beginning. Of course we are not puppets, we do have choice. But the choice we make is depended upon the internal and external causes, and that causes is made by God.

When you throw a ball, it has a path, it goes in the way it has to, there is a law of physics behind it. Now if we give the ball feelings and brain, it think of going down in the same path where it shud go, but it will think of different ways too, which it cant go in real. The ball does not have free will but still it think it has, though it can go only in the one way. The same with human. Our destiny is already written, but we think we have free will, like the ball..;)

Don't really dwell too much on the physical (fleshy) when understanding this point. God is a spirit. So think of it this way...

Let's say a couple has their first child and it's a girl. That daughter grows up with the same character and personality as her father (i.e. the same spirit). People who know her father may tell her constantly "oh you're just like your father." or "you are so your father's daughter".

That daughter is in the image and likeness of her father. You see the daughter and you see her father (even though she's clearly of an opposite gender).

When Genesis 1:27 says:

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created him; male and female created he them.
...it's speaking more along the lines of spirit, character and nature. God made Adam in his image, and then took woman out him...so she's in God's image by result of being from Adam.

If u check the greek word for "created" in Genesis 1:27, u see that it is not in the paste tense. The actual translated word is "C-R-E-A-T-E-S" and not created. It is a process. The image of God is spiritual and we are in the process of changing ourselves into the image of God. Like Jesus Christ, who is the exact imprint image of God. We are not yet in the exact image of God. Its all abt the spiritual image. It has nothing to do with the physical image of ours. Because God is not in flesh, to be male or female physically.

But yes, whatever we are male or female, it comes from God. So it is clear that male and female character are there in God. He understands the feeling of both male and female.

Ga 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

I'm sure if the scripture mentioned the other way, like if bible mention God as "she", then our discussion would be abt " Why she, why not he?".....:p
