God; a physical being, or just a word which we continually try to define, synthesize or label.

My Post:

This statement implies the possibility that God is yet undefined. As a Christian, I trust that your bible is your primary source of information pertaining to God, and as such, there are scriptures which can help you if you are still unsure of exactly what or whom you believe in. We are a race created in God’s image. God is also Spirit. Our bodies will eventually be made like His.

Gen 1:26 …then God said, “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness,…

John 4:24 …God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth…

Philippians 3:21 …will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like His Glorious body…

For millennia we have tried to understand the true nature of our existence but there is still an enormous amount that we don’t know about our origins.

My Post:

It is generally accepted by Christians, that our origin is traced to Eden, Where God fashioned the first man and the first woman. However, after the flood, the earth was re-populated by the sons of Noah; Shem, Ham and Japheth and the generations that followed.

Humans are instinctively curious and inquisitive and where there is a lack of knowledge we create solutions based on the small amount of understanding we have on the topic. Belief in a higher being has existed since well before recorded history began and for many centuries it seemed the most logical reason for things such as rain, volcanic eruptions and perhaps most notably our existence. Due to the human race’s incredible mental capacity we have begun researching these things and we now have an accurate logical solution for all of these phenomena, yet the concept of God is still a part of every day for Billions around the world. We wouldn’t use medical procedures from 3000BC so why do we still resort to this primitive idea of a higher being when we have perfectly reasonable solutions for any situation that may have been at one point accredited to the Almighty Father

My Post:

This portion of your statement, is very direct and suggests that belief in a higher power is out dated, or perhaps that those who practice Christianity are clinging to an archaic belief system in order to explain their surroundings. Your question “why do we still resort to this primitive idea of a higher being when we have perfectly reasonable solutions … , is an indication that while you profess Christianity, you are now instructing others to disbelieve and to question their faith. I am not offended. You are simply presenting your position from a philosophical platform rooted in opinion. I would like to help you to further define ‘Higher Power’.

Christians do not believe in a ‘Higher Power’. If this were so, there would be a common bond among the nations and belief systems of the world, but we believe in the Trinity, (God, The Father, God, The Son and God, The Holy Ghost).

We believe in the Messiah, born of a Virgin. We believe in the Life, Death, Burial and Resurrection of Christ Jesus. We believe in Jesus’ promise to send the Holy Spirit, (Teacher, Comforter, Spirit of God).

We believe that Jesus is the only way into the kingdom of Heaven, (the only way to be saved)

As Religion has progressed the images associated with it have also changed, depending on the cultural context it is inevitable that different texts will be interpreted in different ways.

My Post:

Hebrews 13:8 …Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever…

Malachi 3:6 …I am the Lord, I do not change…

Our current world is undergoing major alterations morally and ethically which can be partially accredited to the media, advertising and the constant flow of sleaze which is force-fed to us every day. Due to this shift in attitude something is happening which until now has been seen as inappropriate. People are saying “No, I will believe what I want to believe, I won’t be restricted to one set of guidelines and instead I will extract what I think is important from any sources available to me”. And with this freedom of expression we begin to see interpretations of God that are both reflective and interpretive which creates the basis for our dynamic and varied belief system in the modern world.

My Post:
This portion of your statement is not an expression, a statement or affirmation, but reveals an agenda. What our world is undergoing is a falling away from the truth of God’s word, of which, we have been thoroughly forewarned. I wouldn’t be so hard on the media, advertising or the constant flow of force-fed information. I believe the many self proclaimed liberals and ‘free thinkers’ peddling their seductive philosophies of religious unification in our society, planting seeds of doubt, disbelieving the word of God and toppling weak Christians, do significantly more damage.

John 14:6 Jesus said, I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.
