The word translated as gospel or good news in English Bibles is euangelion and similar words in alliterated Greek.

Earlier than the birth of Jesus Christ, the message of the euangelion heralded Caesar.

The term εὐαγγέλιον (euangelion) is found in several imperial inscriptions, usually related to the imperial religion. For example, an inscription in the Priene calendar honors Augustus’ birth as “the birthday of the god” which marks “the beginning of the good tidings [εὐαγγελίων (euangeliōn)] for the world” The presence of εὐαγγέλιον (euangelion) in imperial decrees like the Priene inscription helps illuminate the first-century contextual usage of the term. Caesars ruled Rome for a time but their reigns have ended. Jesus is a king and His Kingdom is coming. It's gospel. It's good news.

Once, there had been the euangelion or gospel concerning Caesar.

Now, there is the euangelion or gospel concerning Jesus Christ, born in Bethlehem, Israel around the year zero and returning to earth soon.

Mat_24:14 And this GOSPEL OF THE KINGDOM shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

I certainly agree that the Gospel of Jesus is GOOD NEWS........I just don't think I would compare Him to Caesar......or, more properly Caesar to Jesus.........Caesar isn't even a close replica.....well, not in my opinion........ :)
