Matthew 15

New International Version (NIV)

That Which Defiles

15 Then some Pharisees and teachers of the law came to Jesus from Jerusalem and asked, [SUP]2 [/SUP]“Why do your disciples break the tradition of the elders? They don’t wash their hands before they eat!”
[SUP]3 [/SUP]Jesus replied, “And why do you break the command of God for the sake of your tradition? [SUP]4 [/SUP]For God said, ‘Honor your father and mother’[SUP][a][/SUP] and ‘Anyone who curses their father or mother is to be put to death.’[SUP][b][/SUP] [SUP]5 [/SUP]But you say that if anyone declares that what might have been used to help their father or mother is ‘devoted to God,’[SUP]6 [/SUP]they are not to ‘honor their father or mother’ with it. Thus you nullify the word of God for the sake of your tradition. [SUP]7 [/SUP]You hypocrites! Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you:
[SUP]8 [/SUP]“‘These people honor me with their lips,
but their hearts are far from me.
[SUP]9 [/SUP]They worship me in vain;
their teachings are merely human rules.’[SUP][c][/SUP]”

[SUP]10 [/SUP]Jesus called the crowd to him and said, “Listen and understand. [SUP]11 [/SUP]What goes into someone’s mouth does not defile them, but what comes out of their mouth, that is what defiles them.”
[SUP]12 [/SUP]Then the disciples came to him and asked, “Do you know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this?”
[SUP]13 [/SUP]He replied, “Every plant that my heavenly Father has not planted will be pulled up by the roots. [SUP]14 [/SUP]Leave them; they are blind guides.[SUP][d][/SUP] If the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit.”
[SUP]15 [/SUP]Peter said, “Explain the parable to us.”
[SUP]16 [/SUP]“Are you still so dull?” Jesus asked them. [SUP]17 [/SUP]“Don’t you see that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach and then out of the body? [SUP]18 [/SUP]But the things that come out of a person’s mouth come from the heart, and these defile them. [SUP]19 [/SUP]For out of the heart come evil thoughts—murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander. [SUP]20 [/SUP]These are what defile a person; but eating with unwashed hands does not defile them.”

The Elders taught the people to keep the laws and correct them when they are in error. They are the overseers or the watchmen, that watches over the people and to see if they are doing their duties properly. Now our physical nature is not the main focus, but what is in our heart that matters.

The 10 Commandments is a set of eternal principles upon which both covenants stand. All of the 10 commandments upon which the Law of Moses was built are repeated in the New Covenant as kingdom principles.
Well said! They were not only repeated but explained in God's terms. They were repeated when scripture said love was the basis of all commandments. When we listen well to God, all of the scripture that tell us about Him, we hear truth.

You didn't say God wiped out anything, for God never did. Scripture gives us ways to grow, and we don't have to destroy the old in order to use it for a basis to grow on.

For all those who donot want to keep the ten why then ask for forgiveness of sins
Romans 7:1-25

viewing the king james version(kjv)

[SUP]1[/SUP] Know ye not, brethren, (for I speak to them that know the law,) how that the law hath dominion over a man as long as he liveth?
[SUP]
2
[/SUP]
For the woman which hath an husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband.
[SUP]
3
[/SUP]
So then if, while her husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man.
[SUP]
4
[/SUP]
Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.
[SUP]
5
[/SUP]
For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death.
[SUP]
6
[/SUP]
But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.
[SUP]
7
[/SUP]
What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.
[SUP]
8
[/SUP]
But sin, taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. For without the law sin was dead.
[SUP]
9
[/SUP]
For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died.
[SUP]
10
[/SUP]
And the commandment, which was ordained to life, I found to be unto death.
[SUP]
11
[/SUP]
For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew me.

[SUP]12[/SUP] Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.

[SUP]13[/SUP] Was then that which is good made death unto me? God forbid. But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful.
[SUP]
14
[/SUP]
For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.

[SUP]15[/SUP] For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I.
[SUP]

16
[/SUP]
If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good.
[SUP]

17
[/SUP]
Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
[SUP]
18
[/SUP]
For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.[SUP]

19
[/SUP]
For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.
[SUP]
20
[/SUP]
Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
[SUP]
21
[/SUP]
I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.
[SUP]
22
[/SUP]
For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:
[SUP]
23
[/SUP]
But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.

[SUP]24[/SUP] O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?
[SUP]
25
[/SUP]
I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

If someone gets tired of keeping the ten commandments,it is because they can't.

they realize they need help, thats where the forgiveness will come in.

You can keep one or the other, it is up to you. But if you were to forget to wash your hands before you eat, you has violated one, and if you violated one, you have violated them all. So you'll be consider endanger of hell's fire. So it is best to follow Christ, because people will make many of mistakes, and Jesus can look over your mistakes, because He knows that we are imperfect.
Guess what? There is no commandment of God to wash your hands. Search the OT and you will not find this man made tradition.

[h=3]Matthew 15:1-3[/h]King James Version (KJV)

15 Then came to Jesus scribes and Pharisees, which were of Jerusalem, saying,
2 Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread.
3 But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?

[h=3]Mark 7[/h]King James Version (KJV)

7 Then came together unto him the Pharisees, and certain of the scribes, which came from Jerusalem.
2 And when they saw some of his disciples eat bread with defiled, that is to say, with unwashen, hands, they found fault.
3 For the Pharisees, and all the Jews, except they wash their hands oft, eat not, holding the tradition of the elders.
4 And when they come from the market, except they wash, they eat not. And many other things there be, which they have received to hold, as the washing of cups, and pots, brasen vessels, and of tables.
5 Then the Pharisees and scribes asked him, Why walk not thy disciples according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashen hands?
6 He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.
7 Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
8 For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.
9 And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.

9 And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.

It was customary for them to keep themselves physically clean, or you will be considered to be defile. I believe that everyone should become like Jews in order to understand the scriptures. I use to observe the Laws whole heartedly. And in the scriptures it says to not eat or touch anything that isn't kosher, and even anyone or thing that touches anything that came into contact with unclean items. And remember the Jews had live among the Pagans and the ones that didn't kept the laws. Believe me it is hard to keep yourselves from being defile while living among the defile. You have to keep on washing yourself all the time and keeping away from defile, and wait 24 hours until you become clean. Until the Holy Spirit came into the picture, then I understand that the laws were for to preserved the flesh, but not for the spirit.

Exodus 30:17 Then the Lord said to Moses, 18 “Make a bronze basin, with its bronze stand, for washing. Place it between the tent of meeting and the altar, and put water in it. 19 Aaron and his sons are to wash their hands and feet with water from it. 20 Whenever they enter the tent of meeting, they shall wash with water so that they will not die. Also, when they approach the altar to minister by presenting a food offering to the Lord, 21 they shall wash their hands and feet so that they will not die. This is to be a lasting ordinance for Aaron and his descendants for the generations to come.”

Exodus 19:10
And the Lord said to Moses, “Go to the people and consecrate them today and tomorrow. Have them wash their clothes

Luke 10:11
‘Even the dust of your town we wipe from our feet as a warning to you. Yet be sure of this: The kingdom of God has come near.’

John 13:8 “No,” said Peter, “you shall never wash my feet.”
Jesus answered, “Unless I wash you, you have no part with me.”
9 “Then, Lord,” Simon Peter replied, “not just my feet but my hands and my head as well!”
10 Jesus answered, “Those who have had a bath need only to wash their feet; their whole body is clean. And you are clean, though not every one of you.”

1 Peter 3:21

Mikveh (sometimes spelled mikvah, mikve, or mikva) (Hebrew: מִקְוֶה / מקווה, Modern Mikve Tiberian Miqwā; plural: mikva'ot or mikves (Yiddish)[SUP][1][/SUP][SUP][2][/SUP]Hebrew: מִקְוֶוֹת / מִקְוָאות) is a bath used for the purpose of ritual immersion in Judaism. The word "mikveh", as used in the Hebrew Bible, literally means a "collection" – generally, a collection of water.[SUP][3][/SUP]
Several biblical regulations specify that full immersion in water is required to regain ritual purity after ritually impure incidents have occurred. A person was required to be ritually pure in order to enter the Temple. In addition, a convert to Judaism is required to immerse in a mikveh as part of the his/her conversion, and a woman is required to immerse in a mikveh after her menstrual period or childbirth before she and her husband can resume marital relations. In this context, "purity" and "impurity" are imperfect translations of the Hebrew "tahara" and "tumah", respectively, in that the negative connotation of the word impurity is not intended; rather being "impure" is indicative of being in a state in which certain things are prohibited (as relevant) until one has become "pure" again by immersion in a mikveh.
Mikveh - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Kashrut is the body of Jewish law dealing with what foods we can and cannot eat and how those foods must be prepared and eaten. "Kashrut" comes from the Hebrewroot Kaf-Shin-Reish, meaning fit, proper or correct. It is the same root as the more commonly known word "kosher," which describes food that meets these standards. The word "kosher" can also be used, and often is used, to describe ritual objects that are made in accordance with Jewish law and are fit for ritual use.

the character of God...
ten commandments of love
ten enablings
ten promises of God's spirit for you to become more like God

it is so easy to keep the commandments

it is very easy not to kill my neighbor, just say NO
it is very easy not to steal from my neighbore
just say no
it is easier to stay home with the family than to put on black shirt and pants, mask get flashlight sneak around and steal domething. just stay home

it is very easy to not commit adultery with the neighbors wife, just say no. Just hug your wife instead, a lot easier

it is very easy to stop being covetous just stay home and don't buy anything

All that wrapping and buying and x-mas charging, just stay home!

It is easy to praise God and listen to what he says, just tell false doctrine people to go away
you don't have time to argue, if it isn't in the bible forget about it

It is easy not to worship images, make a corner of the house and buy an idol and walk to it and worship the false image, is hard!
just say no, just pray to Jesus, you don't have to buy anything!

It is easy to have God be our only God before us, you read it in the Bible, you say amen and you do it
whats so hard about that
It is easy to worship God on the Sabbath, you stay home and sing songs and read psalms and praise God
It is a lot harder to get up and drive into town on the wrong day and give money to strangers who dont folow the bible and who fgossip
just stay home

It is easy to keep the commandments, it is a lot harder to break them!

Just say NO to sin.

John 8:34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.
1 Cor 15:57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

1 John 3:4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
1 John 3:5 And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.

in the love of Jesus there is no lawbreaking accusations for he keeps the law perfectly for eternity and so will you

Yes, the Lord disciplines all those that want to come back into the garden. But it is better that He didn't just give us up cold turkey without seeing if we are capable of being loving souls, and which that is the main purpose of the laws.

Which ones are to be kept and why?
Well, let's see.

1. Don't worship other gods.
That means never be an idolater, pagan, heathen, heretic, miscreant, money worshiper.

2. Don't make idols.
Than means don't worship yourself; don't believe in yourself; never be a hooligan apostate, and TV Evangelists are not immune to the Hollywood extravaganza.

3. Don't take the name of God in vane.
That mean don't swear; don't cuss; have peachy thoughts all day, every day, about God your Creator.

4. Remember Shabbat to keep it holy.
That means chill-out & rest on Saturdays to remember all the blessed promises of Jesus Christ.

5. Honor your father & mother.
That means don't hate your parents; forgive your parents' shortcoming and learn from your parent's wisdom & mistakes.

6. Don't murder.
That means don't harbor hate; don't be heinous, evil traitor; be void of malice; never be an assassin, a terrorist, a garroter, a cutthroat harlequin because life doesn't not belong to you. Forgive 70 x 7 per day.

7. Don't commit adultery.
That means never, ever go a-whoring neither pimp your soul to the Underworld.

8. Don't steal.
That mean don't be a thief, a Pirate, an embezzler; don't plagiarize; don't skim your taxes; keep your hands to yourself.

9. Don't lie.
That means tell the truth.

10. Don't covet.
That means quit craving for stuff that you cannot afford; stuff that doesn't belong to you, or quit being envious of your neighbor's green pasture.

Which ones don't matter and why?
Well, I asked my 3rd-grader that very same question; she replied, "But, Mom, they all matter; the Commandments are all God's laws, and God always matters." :)

I'm so going to sleep peachy sweet night. Thank You, Lord God Almighty for the children You have entrusted to my care. :)

receive the holy spirit and the law will be fulfilled in you so you can walk the right way that God intended, that's why we actually have to be born again because we do by nature the things contained in the law everysingle one of them and the law is holy and is what judges the entire world so in order to be righteous we must be born again

You have it right on, except you are human. Shame. After you are born again, after you put on Christ, after you determine to follow Christ, there is still weakness in you. You still are given the right, minute by minute, to choose what you do, what you think about, how you live. With all you say, you are almost there, you are blessed, you are helped, but you are not perfect. You must choose your walk.
