I don't think the preterist/amilennialist view takes into account all of revelation so to me dual fuifillment makes a lot of sense. Thats what I personally see hapening. It's not as crazy as it sounds if they rebuild a third temple. Even the bible itself seems to support it as one could argue that Isaiah and Daniel were written for the Jewish people, whereas Revelation was written for the early church. Paul had made it abundantly clear the early church was not Judaism.

I mean when did the trumpets and the seals of revelation happen. And when did Christ return? And, if the church age is the millenial reign, the milennial reign well - sucks.

But, dual fulfillment would reuire a third temple. Israel came close to doing it during the six day war. The hard liners wanted to blow up the dome of the rock, cooler heads prevailed and it didn't happen. Cooler heads prevailed and they also didn't use the nuclear weapons they probably had at the time (which they most definitely do have now).

Is the part of dual fulfillment that gives you trouble the part where Israel seems to escape unscathed? Or the part where people revel in all the destruction thinking that whatever crazy decisions they make won't matter because they just get raptured out?

Have I ever told the story on CC, about a cousin of mine who got wrapped up in end times theories and a minister told him the world was about to end? Well, long story short when he was driving home from the meeting with this minister he ended up having a panic attack. He had a car accident and died. This was in 1988, and the world is still turning. Thanks to this false prophet my cousin brainwashed him and played on his emotions and naivety and he lost his life.
