They may think they are fooling everyone with "mock humility" and a showy display of one's 'holiness'. But their secret escapades will catch up with them to their demise, shame, or embarrassment. The verses at Galatians 6:7,8 shows what to expect if a Christian, or anyone for that matter, chooses to be guided by their flesh, rather than accurate knowledge from God's Word.

Many sincere, honest-hearted ones leave (...)because they are not being fed spiritually; and thus being conscious of their "spiritual need", they may seek a religion that will satisfy them spiritually (Matthew 5:3; Psalms 1:1-3). On the other hand, many leave their place of worship (or faith) because (...) Some see no real, true, Christian love and unity among their members attending their place of worship ....These are some of the reasons I believe why people leave their faith or place of worship.
Threre are "spiritual" an nonspiritual reasons.

There are EMOTIONAL reasons. Emotive as friendship and real companionship.

But UNITY or community is build with love, with a willing search and constant effort.

True. Go too far and your flesh will be turned over to Satan. 1 Cor. 5:5.

However, one cannot have 'accurate' knowledge from God's Word if they are referencing a false translation of it.

If you will yourself to 'love' it will die or deceive you some day. Jesus' love is forever.

Not so. Do you have a bible verse to support this view?
Not at hand, but in my mind! The whole O.T. taught: "There is ONE God..." and the N.T. confirmed THAT, telling us "There is only one mediator between men and GOD".

A concordance may serve, but God will teach!

Regarding OUR Lord Jesus, John said anything like: "Whomever believes in HIM shall not die"

Just read Acts 4:12

Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none
other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be
saved.

Jesus is god. The only liers are people who refuse to accept it.
Yes, brother! You judged me right: I AM A LIAR. I am a sinner... I hope there is no more than ONE God and ONE mediator.

I'm thankful (to GOD) that Iḿ not appealing to MARY or any other of those saints the Catholic church "helped" me to believe. Besides! I'm not solely "saved" for my belief (or beliefs) but for the THINGS been done.

I hope Jesus be seated on the right hand of God to save me.

A sinner.

When Christ taught those three years He was here, Christ talked a lot about law. The gist of the entire teaching of law was that the law is more than how to obey love, it was love itself. He said we could go through the steps of obedience without being obedient if we didn't have the law in our hearts.

Lets apply that to the names for God. Shouldn't what we call God come from our understanding of what those names meant rather than the exact vowels and pronouns we use? We can do that by a careful study of what each word represents or we can do that by knowing God in our hearts, both are good ways. But judging each other over this is not the way.

I like the lesson the original thread brought out. I have wondered how we can be sure that what we follow is from God and not from our flesh. I have heard people say "God told me", then they go on with something that scripture does not back up. Our flesh is greedy and sneaky in making its desires known. It seems to me that when we tell ourselves that we are lead by the spirit, we need to check ourselves carefully with written scripture. If it doesn't match, it isn't from the spirit of God.

I find that being honest with myself is very difficult and a lifelong work. I was once riding in an elevator with some men I did not admire, and was going over in my mind what I thought of them. I found myself telling myself "you are too nice to be thinking thoughts like this". So I actually did stop myself from judging.

Sometimes I think others are more aware of our failures than we are, we see ourselves with prejudice, others see us clearer. If we see ourselves with the mind of God, we can look at ourselves the clearest of all.

You can not love two master it says, either you love one and hate the other. If our love for the Lord has grown cold, it might be hard to listen to the spirit of conviction. Rev. says he spews the lukewarm out. Not a same answer for everyone. I know repentance brings the light into the darkness.

I think people can, and the reason why I say this is because it seems that a lot of people are easily deceived by people who express lukewarm faiths and live double lives. But, I don't feel that God could ever be deceived by it. He knows our hearts. Man is a different story lol. I mean look at the marketplace, it is EVERYWHERE. But. It doesn't necessarily mean it shall last. That's for sure.
