Just thought I would bring it back to the top if there are any lawyers out there who are willing to combat the cross.

Why is it when someone speaks of keeping the law its assumed that they are doing it by works?

My experience is that with Faith in Jesus what I could not do before He does in me now. I can't explain how it works. Just that His promises are true. Indeed keeping the law in other words doing what is right. was impossible before Faith came, but when Faith came through Jesus all things became possible.

Jesus did more than die, He was raised and is High Priest even now. The old man of sin could never keep the law though we trie. now He is dead in Christ and behold He makes us new creatures praise His name. Christ lives in us and by His Spirit the keeping the law becomes natural. why, because its natural for Jesus and Jesus live in us.

Thats not works thats grace in full blown power.

that might be a bit harsh? was that necessary? you are sounding full of yourself but i am sure you mean well
Yes In my flesh I stand as king ready to slaughter, who will refute me, I stand on the cross of Christ. Stand on your law I feel like David I got five smooth stones in my pouch. who dares to to defy the servant of the Lord God almighty. No one as yet and that's a good thing. That most are seeing the cross more valuable than the thew law

Cobus I need the cross
I was born in sin as the psalmist David said
I Know I sin because I was in the loins of Adam, my earthly father
The Lord gave my fathers law and Moses immediately broke it
My father Adam had need for God to kill an animal to cover my nakedness
God sent His son to remove my nakedness if I have faith in His work
His son allows The Holy Spirit to work in me frutation of righteousness.
But, only as I yield mt self to Him
While I still have the nature of sin within me by mt father Adam
I also Have the spirit of Righteousness at work within me.
Romans 7 My friend
I thank God that by the Cross I am justified and sanctified. Not that I should boast, not of my own works, but by the work of thed cross that I have placed my faith in the Spirit of God has wrought in me His good works and not that of my own least I should boast.

Got it

Romans 7 describes a person who is a slave to sin until they come to the cross and are freed at the end of Romans 7 Romans 8 is the person who is free in Christ.

Are we greater than Paul, if he needed the cross how much more do we as pertains to sanctification

Yes Paul needed the cross just as we all do. the point is Paul is illustrating a slave to sin in chapter 7. Someone who has not died to the law. Thus the reason for:

Rom 7:24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?

A delivered person does not need deliverance. the next verse is the cross where deliverance comes. then chapter 8 is the delivered person.

Notice the change from before the Cross to after.

Before:
Rom 7:14 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.
Rom 7:23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.

deliverance:
Rom 7:25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

After:
Rom 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

You are living in a illusory world. Peter himself called the law of Moses an unbearable burden, and you are trying to convince us that now we can keep the law because we have Christ? You simply don't know what you're talking about. Your faith is something other than the faith of Christ.

So now why are you putting God to the test by placing on the neck of the disciples a yoke [of circumcision that binds them to the law of Moses] that neither our fathers nor we have been able to bear? But we believe we will be saved through the grace of the Lord Jesus in the same way those also are.” Acts 15:10-11

1. Kerry do you need the cross?
2. Kerry do you sin?
3. How do you know you sin?
Kerry let me give you an example of how to answer Truthfully, and not with a lot of mombo-jumbo.

1. Yes all sinners need the cross.
2. Yes I sin, or... No I do not sin.
3. I know I sin becasue the holy Spirit of God reproves me when I sin. And the Holy Spirit uses the LAW to show me sin is transgression of the law.

And that is how the Bible answers these three questions.

The verse for 1. Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;

The verse for 2. In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.

The verse for 3. And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
And also this verse. Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
If the holy Spirit still reprove of sin, he does so because people are still TRANSGRESSING THE LAW....

Kerry you CANNOT do sin and righteousness...It is IMPOSSIBLE to serve both God with righteousness and Satan with sin... choose my man, CHOOSE.

THe law shows Gods moral perfection. Unfortunately no man could keep it. IT was ten simple rules. But no man under the sun could could keep it. No man could stand before God and say I have kept your law and obeyed it to the fullest. Not even His chosen people. Even after being saved from Egypt the sought the advice of Baal and the Ashtaroth. Even after God killed 185,000 thousand Syrians of trained war, without Hezekiah lifting a sword. Even after Jesus said "it is finished" we still look to what flesh can do. If you read 2 Samuel you will see the war between flesh and Spirit. If you read Romans you will see the war between flesh and Spirit. The sin nature is ever prevalent in us and the only way to overcome is faith placed in the cross and nothing else. Not your good works, not keeping Sabbath, not tithing, not fasting, not forty days of puropose, not cleaning parks or giving clothes to the homeless. It is by faith in the cross, Yet with our faith in the cross we will feed the hungry and clothe the naked, these are the fruits of faith in the cross. The fruit does not abolish the means, The means is the cross.

Other men were crucified that day alongside Yahshua the Messiah.

Have faith in Heavenly Father who ordained His Son Yahshua to bring us Salvation.

The Law is good , man is the problem!

GOD be thanked He sent us Salvation and He was not made of wood.

The law as good as it is provided no remedy for sin, Where will you take your lamb without spot or blemish. There is no brazen altar to sprinkle the blood on. There is no Holy of Holies for your priest to sprinkle blood on the mercy seat.

All he have is the cross and unless your faith is placed solely in the cross, there is no way possiblr for you to keep the morality of God.

You are mistaken my Faith is in the High Priest who suffered on a cross then Resurrected on the third day.

Know you not He ascended up to heaven?

for future reference, when I say the cross, I mean Christ crucified and buried and risen from the dead. God bless you. The stick has nothing to do with what I mean, only that cursed is a man who hangs from a tree and cursed because our sin was imputed to Him. Amen.
