When we give our hearts to the Lord Jesus, and want him to make us white as snow, his life of righteousness is imparted to us that moment. That moment we are made white in the blood of the lamb. This is justification (made right) by faith in the word of god that works by love.
The righteousness by which we are justified and made right is imputed. A free gift by the merits of Jesus blood.
the righteousness by which we (saints) are sanctified is imparted
The Justification is our title to heaven
the second sanctification is our fitness for heaven.

John 17:19 And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.
John 17:20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;
John 17:21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.

Sanctiofication is our duty so we can become one in Jesus.
Sanctification is not the work of a moment, an hour, a day, but of a lifetime. It is not gained by a happy flight of feeling, but is the result of
constantly dying to sin.
and constantly living for christ.

Wrongs cannot be righted nor reformation wrought in the character by feeble intermittant efforts.

It is only by long persevering effort, sore discipline, and stern conflict, that we shall overcome.

This is the true gospel of christ,
Repent! For the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

Then he who wants to sanctify himself, who wants to purify himself, will renounce a joint life of adultery.

He will be holy purified, sanctified.

but Jesus knows who wants, and who does not want.

And he who does not want is the one who has not been sealed
and who will continue to sully himself.
He will keep on sullying himself.

Those who have the holy spirit want to do right
and search for it with all their hearts.
those with the worldly spirit are just fine in their eyes and are called laodicea

There is no such thing as instantatneous sanctification.
True sanctification is a daily work continueing as long as life shall last.
