The Sabbath, as we know it from the New Testament, is NOT the keeping
of a certain day. We have no command whatsoever to keep Saturday for a Sabbath, nor do
we have any commandment to keep the first day of the week, which is Sunday, as a
Sabbath.
Many people keeps days. Others make Sunday an idol, a worship day. Others
make Saturday as the worship day. Both the Sunday worshipper and the Sabbath keeper
are absolutely wrong, according to the Word of God. Sabbath to a Christian is no longer the
keeping of holy days, new moons or seasons. It means “eternal rest” to one’s soul by the
New Birth. We have to go by the Word of God, not by what the Adventists say, nor by what
the Protestant says, nor by what the Catholic says.
SABBATH MEANS “REST”
Hebrews 4:8, “For if Jesus had given them REST (or rest day), then would He
not afterward have spoken of another day. There remaineth therefore a rest (Sabbath
keeping) to the people of God. For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from
his own works, as God did from His.”
Reading the key phrase in the last part of the verse, it says that “God ceased
from His own works.” God gave Israel the seventh day for their Sabbath, in commemoration
of His own work wherein He created the world and all that was therein, and then stopped
creating. He ceased from His labors. He rested. Now it was fine to give a Sabbath rest to
a people who were all in one place at one time, so they could all keep a certain day. Today
half the world is in light while the other half is in darkness, so it wouldn’t work at all. But that
is just an argument from the natural.
Let’s see what the Bible teaches us about this Sabbath rest. “For he that is
entered into his rest.” This entering in is not only entering in, but remaining in, the rest. It
is an `eternal rest’ of which the seventh day is but a type, to the Christian.
“SEVEN” MEANS COMPLETION. `Eight’ goes back to the
`first’ day cycle again.
Jesus’ resurrection was in the first day of the week, giving us eternal
life and eternal Sabbath rest. Thus we see why God could not give us any one certain
day of the week as a Sabbath (rest). We’ve `entered into’ and do `remain in’ our rest, which
Israel could not do, having only a shadow of the true substance which we enjoy. Why go
back to a shadow when we have reality now?

How we receive this rest, or continuing Sabbath, is at the invitation of
Jesus. He said in Matthew 11:28,29, “Come unto Me, all ye that labour and are heavy
laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you, and learn of Me;... and ye shall find
rest (or keeping of the Sabbath, not a day, but eternal life, Sabbath) unto your souls.”
No matter how long you have been laboring under your load of sin,
whether it is ten years, thirty years or fifty years, or longer, come with your tired weary life
and you will find His rest (the true Sabbath). Jesus will give you rest.
Now exactly what is that rest that Jesus will give?
Isaiah 28:8-12, “For all tables are full of vomit and filthiness, so that there is no
place clean. Whom shall He teach knowledge? and whom shall He make to understand
doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts. For precept must
be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there
a little: For with stammering lips and another tongue will He speak to this people. To whom
He said, This is the rest (Sabbath) wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest (or keeping of
His Sabbath); and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear.”
Here it is prophesied right here in Isaiah. And it came to pass about 700 years later
at Pentecost when they were all filled with the Holy Ghost exactly as it was said they would
be. This is the true Sabbath that was promised. Thus when they were filled with
the Holy Ghost they ceased from their worldly works, their worldly doings, their
evil ways. The Holy Ghost took charge of their lives. They entered into rest. There is your
rest. That is your Sabbath. It is not a day, nor a year, but the eternity of being filled
and blessed in the Holy Spirit. It is you ceasing, and God doing. It is God in you
willing and doing of His good pleasure.
Oh, that people might come unto Him and find that rest. There is a cry in all hearts
for that rest but the majority don’t know the answer. So they try to still the cry by a religious
process of keeping certain days or accepting denominational creeds and dogmas. But failing
in that, many try drinking, carousing, and every physical excess, thinking that by worldly
pleasures there can be some satisfaction. But in such there is no rest. They smoke and
take pills to quiet their nerves. But there is no rest in earthly potions. They need
Jesus. They need the heavenly remedy, the rest of the Spirit.
Then the most of them go to church on Sunday. That is good but even there they
have no idea of how to approach God and how to worship Him. Jesus said that true
worship was in Spirit and in truth, John 4:24. But what kind of worship can you get in
a church that knows so little of God it puts up a Santa Claus at Christmas and bunnies at
Easter? Where did they get that? They got it from the pagans and made it a part of the church
doctrine.
But when one turns to the Lord and is filled with the Holy Ghost he
ceases from all such things. He has a rest in his soul. He really begins to live, and
love God and worship Him.

THE NEW BIRTH IS OUR SABBATH

The Law of the Old testament was only a shadow of things that was to come in the
New Testament. The Old says, “Thou shalt not commit adultery”. The New saith “Whosoever
looketh upon a woman with lust has already committed “adultery” with her in his heart”. The
Old Testament states, “Thou shalt not kill”. The New Testament states, “He that hateth his
brother without a cause is already guilty of killing or murdering his brother.” Notice that the
New Testament even magnified the meaning of the Law. And so is the same concerning the
Sabbath. The Old saith, “Keep holy the Sabbath Day”. The New saith, “Come unto Me all of
you who labour and are heavily-laden, and I will give you Sabbath (rest). For I am the Lord
of the Sabbath.” If Jesus Himself never hesitated to heal the sick on the Sabbath Day and
was condemned by the Pharisees for doing such, it just follows that Jesus was not
anymore concerned about making holy that certain literal observance of a Sabbath day.
Jesus was pointing us to the “New Birth” as the real true Sabbath or “rest”. Didn’t Jesus say
to Nicodemus, “Except a man be born of water and of Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of
heaven.” This “New Birth” or in the state of “being born again” is now the real Sabbath to the
Christian believers of today.
HARDEN NOT YOUR HEARTS
Here in the succeeding verses of the Book of Hebrews Chapters 3 and
4, we find God solemnly warning us to fear, lest we fail to enter into that Sabbath
(rest) of God just like the children of Israel who provoked God and perished in
the wilderness
HEBREWS 3:7-19 - “Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his
voice, Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the
wilderness: when your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years.
Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in [their] heart;
and they have not known my ways. So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my
rest). Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing
from the living God. But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be
hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold
the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end; While it is said, To day if ye will
hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation. For some, when they
had heard, did provoke: howbeit not all that came out of Egypt by Moses. But with whom was
he grieved forty years? [was it] not with them that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the
wilderness? And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them
that believed not? So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.”
HEBREWS 4:1-11- “Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left [us] of
entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. For unto us was the
gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being
mixed with faith in them that heard [it]. For we which have believed do enter into rest,
as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works
were finished from the foundation of the world. For he spake in a certain place of the
seventh [day] on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works. And in
this [place] again, If they shall enter into my rest. Seeing therefore it remaineth that
some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of
unbelief: Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it
is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts. For if Jesus had given
them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day. There remaineth
therefore a rest to the people of God. For he that is entered into his rest, he also
hath ceased from his own works, as God [did] from his. Let us labour therefore to
enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.”
SUNDAY OR SATURDAY?
“No, sir, there’s not, not a Scripture in the Bible, nor in the New Testament, for us
to keep either Saturday or Sunday. But the reason we keep Sunday, is a memorial of the
resurrection.” (QA.ON.GENESIS.title JEFF.IN COD 53-0729)
“Now, He said, in other words, about the sabbath, He said, "Come to me, all ye
that labour and heavy laden, and I will give you rest unto your souls, sabbath unto your
souls," not to the physical body, to your soul.” (QA.ON.GENESIS.title JEFF.IN COD 53-0729)
“ Isaiah 28:18, read it. "With stammering lips and other tongues will I
speak to this people. This is the rest." Not Sunday ain't the rest day. The Holy Spirit
is the Rest day. You Advent brethren, not the seventh-day sabbath is the rest. The Holy
Spirit is the Rest. "With stammering lips and other tongues will I speak to this people. And this
is the Sabbath. This is..." "Sabbath" means "rest." This is the Rest to the soul; you have
eternal Rest. Like God, when He made the world, the seventh day, He rested after that. He
rested; He went on resting. When we enter into God, we rest all the time; not from one
Sunday to another. We rest with eternal; we got Eternal Life. The Holy Spirit gives you
Rest.” (UNFAILING REALITIES OF.GOD.title JEFF.IN V-16 N-1 60-0626)
“The Holy Ghost is our Sabbath; the Bible said so, "Come unto Me, all ye that
labor and heavy laden, I'll give you sabbath to your soul." Not a "day." Paul said, "You that
keep a day, I'm afraid of you." See, that's right. Yes, sir. "There remaineth a rest (Hebrews
4) to the people of God, a sabbath-keeping. For we which have entered into His rest, hath
ceased from our works, as God did from His." (SHALOM.title SIERRA.VISTA.AZ V-13 N-5 64-0112)
COLOSSIANS 2:16-17, “ Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or
in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath [days]: Which are a
shadow of things to come; but the body [is] of Christ.”

God says keeping the Sabbath is keeping your mind on Jesus for 24 hours on the sevnth day of the week, and KNEELING down and worshipping and adoring him and recieving his holy spirit blessing of sanctification on that day
Sabbath sanctification will not happen on sunday or monday or tuesday or wednesday or thursday or friday
Because God says so

God has a meeting day with his people every Sabbath from now until eternityand that will never change

Ezek 20:20 And hallow my sabbaths; and they shall be a sign between me and you, that ye may know that I am the LORD your God.

so, what is your sign?

it's pretty true though without the holy spirit there is no rest at all to your soul, because your soul know that it's heading to destruction without christ, so what do we do? find other plans to fill this thirst to fill our souls, we go to church everyday, but still feel uneasy because we know something is missing we try to deceive ourselves o make ourselves think oh everything is alright i'm at church or something else, look at the sinners in the music industry today, they have no rest to their souls alot of them become drug addicts they consume so many earthly things trying to fill this rest that only God can fill but they never find it, just take a good look though despite all the money they have, they have no rest for their souls they always trying something new, but anyone who does receive the holy spirit, has eternal rest that comes from the holy spirit that is where that Joy comes from that is where the happiness comes from because we know we have rest in christ, you think just a particular day can fulfil the thirst of our souls for christ? no sir we need God himself completely in our life to fulfill that thirst, and if we do receive christ why go back to a shadow, when God already fulfilled that thirst

when i look back at my life too, it's the same thing, i wanted badly to know the purpose of my life on this earth, i just felt this void inside i tried so many things to fill this void, turned to smoking that didn't help started to party that didn't help, and i just kept trying and trying there was just this uneasy feeling inside that i didn't know what it mean, until that glorious day... when i met my Lord Jesus christ oh what a blessing and Joy and peace it was i could feel him just holding me in his hands saying i'm free, free from this yoke of bondage... in this worldly lust and free to worship my Lord God as we were meant to do, i urge any of you people, please just turn to christ.. he is the only one that can give you Rest don't turn to some creed or denomination to full that thirst and deceives yourself just give it all to God let go of your human thinking and let God give you the anwser

I do not read loooong posts. And when someone posts such items, it is suspect that they have posted someone elses writings. If you want to post it because you agree with it, that is O.K. but we still need to know where it came from.

I think the basic premise of the article is that because of Christ's sacrifice on the cross, we are now in His continual rest. And I agree. Romans 14 answers to those who want to practice the Sabbath and those who do not, very well. If you see Romans 14 in any other way, then you are trying to make it complicated.

"But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ." 2 Cor 11.:)

Woa....hate you? offended? I neither hate you and why in the world would I be offended? Honestly I did not read the whole thing, just about a third, but no amount of words a man can preach or teach will convince me not to Remember the Sabbath. I have tried it. It is peace and understanding, and truly rest for my soul. Christ prepared the Sabbath for those who want to obey Christ. I rest with Christ on the Sabbath. Have you even tried it? If not, then no amount of reading can convince you.

Nor can we find the word "Trinity" in the bible. Do you believe it? We've been over this before Isdaniel.

"One person esteems one day above another; another esteems every day alike. Let each be fully convinced in his own mind. He who observes the day, observes it to the Lord; and he who does not observe the day, to the Lord he does not observe it." Hellloooooo?

"So let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or sabbaths, which are a shadow of things to come, but the substance is of Christ." Col. 2:16-17.

"And He said to them, "The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath. Therefore the Son of Man is also Lord of the Sabbath." Mark 2:27-28.

"Man was not created for the Sabbath; rather, the Sabbath was ordained for man that he might enjoy it with God. The Son of Man (Jesus), was the very God who had ordained the Sabbath, and He had the right to change what He had ordained concerning the Sabbath." RcV.

One man regards one day above another, another regards every day alike. Let each man be fully convinced in his own mind (Romans 14:5).

This text is sometimes used to support the view that the Sabbath is a matter of indifference for Christians. Some take that a step further and say that for Christians all days are holy; thus there is no need to "keep" one day as better than the others. These interpretations have special appeal for those who oppose the observance of the seventh-day Sabbath. What does this verse really mean?

i wasn't necessarily speaking about you but just in general of what anyone think, well you said it nothing can change your mind, notice ( you said convince you ) your mind, is that the mind of christ? or what God wants to do? did you become a christian from your will? or did the spirit of christ made and shape you into a christian because of his will ? [h=3]Romans 8:9[/h]King James Version (KJV)

9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

please don't misinterpret what i'm trying to telling you i'm not judging you or anyone i'm just sharing what i know because of God i have not a problem with anyone keeping a sabbath but keeping it religiously is the problem that is human understanding there, you ask me if i've ever tried it, first of all i would just like to say this, as God as my witness now, i was never a christian, my mom use to invite me to church and never went i never had the love of christ that would take me church in the first place or to love anyone to speak to them about this, but when God almighty touched me and accepted my faith.. and gave me his spirit to prove that he accepted my faith that is what changed me, that is why i can come here and say that indeed we are at rest in the spirit of christ completely, that's all i want everyone to understand, after seeing that God is my eternal rest through his grace not mine, i just can't find it possible to run back to a shadow of something i don't judge anyone for doing so that's just me
