This is probably a dumb question so feel free to give a thumbs down.

I got saved at age twelve and for some reason for the longest time I thought satan could read thoughts like God could. So clearly I was giving the enemy too much credit. It wasn't until much later when I w as told he could not read thoughts.

So here's the weird question. Can satan see me if I'm in a closed, tight room or under the covers. What I really mean is can he read my facial expressions in the dark?

I ask because I'm paranoid by nature and always feel like something dark is watching me. I hate this feeling and never used to be this way. It's weird when I think about it. I was much closer to God when I was in my teens. Always had peace all around me.

Satan's not interested in your facial expressions. He doesn't actually have a lot of power these days, unless you grant Satan that power over you. In Revelation it says Satan was thrown into the abyss and confined there. If you are saved, then Satan has no power unless your mind and heart are not right with God, like with Simon Magus the sorcerer, who although he was baptized, was probably never really "saved." Satan looks for people willing to grant him power over their lives. He should be resisted in all things that his power may be nullified.

Instead of fretting about whether Satan is watching or not, focus on the Almighty God for He is watching over you. Believe in His promises. I hope this gives you comfort. :)

Psalm 121
[SUP]1 [/SUP]I lift up my eyes to the mountains—
where does my help come from?
[SUP]2 [/SUP]My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
[SUP]3 [/SUP]He will not let your foot slip—
he who watches over you will not slumber;

[SUP]4 [/SUP]indeed, he who watches over Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.

[SUP]5 [/SUP]The Lord watches over you—
the Lord is your shade at your right hand;
[SUP]6 [/SUP]the sun will not harm you by day,
nor the moon by night.
[SUP]7 [/SUP]The Lord will keep you from all harm—
he will watch over your life;

[SUP]8 [/SUP]the Lord will watch over your coming and going
both now and forevermore.

No, satan is not omnipresent or omniscient like God is, so he can't read your thoughts nor is he everywhere to see you particularly anywhere unless he's there, or one of his cohorts is there. He is merely a fallen angel who thinks too highly of himself, who's convinced the world to also think highly of him (whether in admiration or in fear).

satan doesn't have any more power over you than you grant him. As a Child of God you outrank him and any other fallen spirit in authority.

Ephesians 6:10-18
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.

11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.

12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.

14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.
So whenever you feel that feeling, stand in your power and rebuke the darkness; tell it to be gone in the name of Christ.

No darkness can survive in the presence of light.

I don't think so. He is being held by Michael in heaven according to Revelation 12 .
It is written, angels view the earth. If i'm not mistaken. So, they might be able to see you if they wanted. But you have power over all your enemies in Christ name, if you use that authority . You have to claim it and use it.

It is also written, Satan accuses us when we do wrong, before God, and the angels day and night.

. And in scripture, Satan is not shown to read minds.
The only one in scripture that can read minds is God/Christ. So I would not worry about that sort of thing.

What you do publicly in front of people, naturally anyone can see that. And when it comes to angels, maybe they can see a bit more. Again, I would not worry about that stuff.

Thanks all! :)

I know really it's demons (or devil's) that watch. Satan usually has bigger fish to fry.

When I think of them seeing our facial expressions I wonder if this gives them power to further torment us. So if I'm upset and crying they can see this, right?

So they can further add to our misery? Like kicking when already down.

This paranoia may just be what i've heard referred to as a 'shadow syndrome'. Its where people reflect a minor version of a trait of mental disorder. As for me i've never been diagnosed with anything more than depression and anxiety, yet i''ve often felt i had small traits of other things i've not been diagnosed with. When i asked my therapist about this, these shadow syndromes are what she pointed to. They are nothing to be concerned about. They are not indicators of any potential or underlying major psychological mental problems. More of just mental hiccups haha.
I don't know that this is the case, but it is something to consider. And sometimes knowing why things happen can alleviate our fears.

Yes, they can see your facial expressions.

But, HEY!!!!!!

There is no higher name than the name of Jesus. Call upon Him when fear of their presence is felt, and let Him be your Deliverer. He is the Guardian of your soul and will not let your soul be snatched from His hands. Trust Him and He shall give you the Spirit of Peace and not of fear.

In Christ, you do not need to fear them. He is the Good Shepherd, run to Him when the wolves come.

Hi little sis...

I want you to take a deep breath and remember that YOU belong COMPLETELY to the One who PROMISED you that He would NEVER LEAVE YOU OR FORSAKE YOU....for ANY reason.
Jesus dwells within you, sweetie. God isn't going to let satan get you, I PROMISE!!!
I've been a Christian for 41 years, and while there HAVE been times when I've been totally spooked and convinced that the devil himself was out to kill me, God was ALWAYS there to see me through. These are the "last days", sis, and this world is a dark and dying planet. It IS a scary place. Keep the faith and keep looking up... \o/

No not at all; that almost sounds superstitious in a way.

If we go on what is written to the letter, that can dispel all worry about these things. We have to be careful not to be superstitious ; people tend to fill the gaps where they lack understanding or knowledge, with superstitious ideas .

We got to get into the word and study it .

Just a thought here...and a reminder. While Satan and his demons do have a small...and I say small...amount of power they...even Satan is limited in what he can do. Only God is omniscient...all knowing including our thoughts...omnipotent...all powerful...and omnipresent...always present...there is only one Satan and he can not know our thoughts and neither can demons.

That being said...this doesn't mean that we should dare him to do stuff...that might make for a good movie but in reality if we simply think we can dare him to "do his worst"...a person might be in for a shock.

God is our strength and does protect us...but some of these nut jobs on TV that think they can just call him and think they can win just because they use Jesus' name does not work if God is not involved...I take that back...if God is not leading. Remember what happened to some of the disciples when they tried to do battle with a demon? They had the tar beaten out of them.

Read Job, the father of the children of pride and get back to me. Many think it is a dragon, guess who is the dragon. We need the Cross badly.

As you sugested, you´re not a big fish: "Satan usually has bigger fish to fry.". He can read your thoughts, or words, if written, but that bug is not coming closer unless you think about IT. It has servants, even servant people, but you are overconcerned on the issue. His servants try and see how you act or believed, Just think like this:

2Ki_6:15 When the servant of the man of God got up in the morning and went outside, he saw troops, horses, and chariots surrounding the city. Elisha's servant asked, "Master, what should we do?"
2Ki_6:16 Elisha answered, "Don't be afraid. We have more forces on our side than they have on theirs."
2Ki_6:17 Then Elisha prayed, "LORD, please open his eyes so that he may see." The LORD opened the servant's eyes and let him see. The mountain around Elisha was full of fiery horses and chariots.

I beg He helps you see better. Don´t be afraid. The battle belongs to the Lord.

Thanks everyone!

I'm still a newbie here and blown away by the amount of wisdom here from the lovely people such as yourselves. :D

I think for me I'm always thinking about the spirit realm and how things work and where I stand. I don't want to miss something like how for the longest time I thought satan could read thoughts.
