Jer 31:31
Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:
Jer 31:32
Not according to the covenant* that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD:
Jer 31:33
But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.

Many will quote concerning a new covenant for "us" leaving us with the teachings written on our hearts, omitting the mention of the House of Israel. As long as those using this quote know we are all now the house of Israel, not a problem, but what is also left out is the following part of the quote.

Jer 31:34
And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.
I believe the truth is written on my heart and in my inner parts, and I know why I believe so, but do those who quote the first part believe that all have no need to teach his neighbor and every man his brother while they are yet in the forum debating any and every issue dreamable? I do not believe for a moment that every man is in this group who have this truth on their hearts. This is the covenant so many say is the New Testament, but Yeshua is the New Covenant by His Blood.

Know ye the Lord, learn of Him from Him, for He is our Teacher, the Great Master.

*This covenant in the quote from Jeremiah mentioned anywhere else in the Prophets speaks of the same covenant.

Below is another par quote from the Word that caught my attention while attending my first fellowship group's meetings after having received the Holy Spirit.

Act 2:42
And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.
Act 2:43
And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles.

The elder stopped at this point, and it bothered me somehow because there is more below about God operating through His people, however it struck me that the lines 44 and 45 are why the quote stopped there, so I took a turn at reading and read all of the pasted scriptures together.

Act 2:44
And all that believed were together, and had all things common;
Act 2:45
And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.
Act 2:46
And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,
Act 2:47
Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.

I know it is not feasible for any group today to sell all they own, have all in common to share with all, going from house to house. I knew it when I read it, but I felt it all should be read also, not fearing the matter be entertained seriously by the congregation.
It would be nice were we able to do as they did then, but you see they believed our Lord was returning immediately, so they were gathering for to meet Him. This error has occurred many times since that time only to end in tragedy, but it does not hurt to always be prepared, always being urgent in season and out.
