Brothers, Sisters and Friends,

Let us again turn our attention to the eternal word of God as found in Proverbs 11:18 which states, “The wicked worketh a deceitful work: but to him that soweth righteousness shall be a sure reward.” This verse is self explanatory as it clearly tells us that people who are wicked and contrary to the truth will bring forth works that are full of deceit while the flip side of the truth guarantees a “sure” reward for the righteous, which in context dictates something good. Which side have you chosen? Deceitful works which indicate sin and wickedness, or working that which is right out of the word of God? Actions speak louder than words.

Yahchanan (John) 5:28-30, “Do not be astonished at this-for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice, and will come forth. Those who have practiced righteousness will be resurrected in order to live; and those who have practiced wickedness will be resurrected in order to be damned."

Yes in deed! Thank God for His mercy and grace found In Jesus!

doncontroversal, you forgot to add that scripture identifies the righteous as those who follow the Law of the Lord (see Psalm 1; Psalm 119 and scores of others. To say that righteousness is something good is vague and subject to opinion, i.e., your idea of good might be different than someone else.

Thanks for the advice...I just figured since we are in a site that discusses God I wrongly assumed that everyone would know that the only qualification of Good would be what God would qualify as Good. A reward for the righteous would indicate something (good) as God will faithfully reward righteousness with things that could be universally considered (good) by God's people. Thanks again. I shouldn't assume I guess :)

Excellent thought! The bank of heaven (hah) pays the best interest rate in the universe! HAHAH ;)

Sowing righteousness means laboring. IF one wants deceitful gain, they can get it, but it WILL be easy, but the result is death for working wickedness, as God says He has plans for everyone, even the wicked for their day of destruction. So, deceiful working is in contrast to working hard for righeousness living, which is living to a standard that pleases God, 'righteousness' equals 'right standing with God.' :)

For sure and I agree with that. I sow (food plots for deer and turkey) and it always seems to be a day or two maybe thre or four of hard, sweaty labor...:)

For the spiritual application I agree with you. Serving God actually means that you have to SERVE and God calls us all to good WORKS. Works and serving is what we are called to in Jesus.

Thumbs up to the following statement....righteousness' equals 'right standing with God.
