You should probably have your eyes checked first before guessing about what it is.

'Bout every five minutes. Goes with the job. He who departs from evil makes himself a target.
if you want to avoid the persistent attacks, slack up some and simply warm a pew. But if you dare surrender all........look out. You'll stand alone!

Wow, highwayman, that's a very low blow. To prove your argument, you're willing to attack the character of those who disagree with you. Please name one minister or pastor that you know who you trust-- a known minister-- and I can list to you negative things or sins in him or her. You sin too; everyday. Does sin and wrongdoing make a person's teaching or doctrine wrong? When you attack a person's doctrine, you're already in the wrong; but when you attack a person's character and say basically that because they have character flaws, then their doctrines are wrong, then you're really begging God to not forgive your character flaws. You're reproving a person's character and adding claims that most people haven't heard in an effort simply to defend your argument. You apparently cannot see how monstrously evil that is.

You said that those two ministers were found in sin; the implication is that we should reject their testimony, etc. What about ministers who have never been caught in sin or who seem on the outside to be good people? Should we receive all they have to offer? First of all, find me those supposed deathbed confessions. Secondly, ask me about Christians who I've seen who are demonized. If you've already made up your mind what to believe, your pride will not allow you to admit differently. It's not about the Bible but about you being right (or perhaps you not being wrong). When the Pharisees could find nothing wrong with Jesus, they targeted His character; they did the same with Paul and others. If you can prove that a person is bad, then you can get everyone to reject all they have to offer. After all, Jesus' hometown people did it. I know a minister now who is living in sin, and it isn't apparent on the surface; but if the minister preaches from God's Word, then the Lord is present. You can't disqualify a person's preaching or teaching by shining light on character flaws or even sins. It's okay to you because that's how unbelievers and Christians around you operate; but it is criminal as far as God is concerned.

I hope you realize what you're doing and forget about the supposed repentance of Prince and the Hammonds but focus on your own need for repentance. John Bevere has written excellent books; if he was caught in the worst sins, should I decry and disqualify his teachings? When you seek to disqualify the teachings of a minister by attacking or pointing out their character or sins, you are grieving the Holy Spirit. Read about David and King Saul. King Saul was wrong, but when David simply showed less than honorable intentions against Saul (only cut off the edge of his robe so he could show off with it), the Holy Spirit was grieved and struck David with conviction. If you feel justified, get it right before you travel all the way down the wrong way: you aren't. What you're doing isn't holy, but God is and judges us by His holiness and not by our 'good intentions'. Examine yourself to see whether or not you are in the faith. And stick around long enough don't die off yet. In time, demonized Christians will surface everywhere and will be common knowledge. As long as there isn't much of a ministry for them, you won't see them; when genuine ministry comes, just as when Jesus came, then needy people will surface everywhere. At this time, most Christians who know they are demonized hide it because they don't want to be stoned by people like you; others have no idea what is holding them back, why happiness is out of reach, and what seems to constantly be nipping at their ankles. Get your heart right, man. Christianity, contrary to what you know, isn't about right or wrong opinions and doctrines; it's about caring for people because God lives in you.

No wonder you believe Christians can be possessed.

  • Flashes
When the vitreous gel inside your eye rubs or pulls on the retina, you may see what looks like flashing lights or lightening streaks. You may have experienced this sensation if you have ever been hit in the eye and see "stars."
These flashes of light can appear off and on for several weeks or months. As we grow older, it is more common to experience flashes. If you notice the sudden appearance of flashes, you should visit your ophthalmologist immediately because it could mean that the retina has been torn. What Do Sparkles Look Like?

Sparkles can be seen by people as small flecks of dust, iridescent particles, flashes of light, blinking clear lights and something called “static,” such as the static or fuzz you might see on the television when the station has gone off the air.

Many have said they see them better at night, in the dark. While others (especially, smaller children, see them during the daylight, even outside in the Sun. Others see them swirling in patterns, sometimes in different colors. These people have said they occasionally see black or dark sparkles, but not very often. Sometimes they spin around and blend together. Usually, it is seen with eyes closed as well as open. No wonder you believe Christians can be possessed.
Yes, most but not all Americans are shaky in their confidence. Sowing confusion and doubt doesn't work on everyone; some of us actually know who we are (and who others are) and are sure of exactly what we want, and an assault on our confidence is only an insult. Christians can and do have demons. However, here's a quote. If you can decipher it, then you should definitely be proud of yourself: "I'ma show you how great I am" (Muhammad Ali). Lol. Enjoy.

I have an interesting story from when I was a freshmen in college. I went and saw the first "Paranormal Activities" movie and when I came back to my dorm room later that night I was attacked by a demon. Long story short I saw and heard it scream (with my eyes open, and small light on in the room) multiple times and then the next day told one of my friends who was not a christian about it. He of course didn't believe me so later the next day at night I told him to come in my room and I would turn the light on that I had on the previous night and see if anything happened. Sure enough the demon came back and it scared the crap out of him. Later that night I thought the demon was coming back when I was laying down to go to sleep ( you can feel it, its like your body is scared but you don't know why) so I decided to go next door to my friend who saw the demon and sleep in his room bc I thought maybe the demon was haunting the room and not after me. Wrong! After about 10 min it came back and this time my friend was really scared. He asked me a bunch of questions like if it would possess me and I told him that since I'm a christian it can't but that it can scare me and oppress me (five senses see it, smell, feel...etc). Then he told me that he didn't want it to try and hurt him so he wanted to get saved. I then led him to christ. The peace in the room after that was unbelieveable, it was truly like being in the presence of God and I will never forget it. However, That night we slept with the light on and nothing else happened except i kept waking up feeling like something was grabbing at me but couldn't quite get me. Kind like a dog trying to tear you apart but the chain stops them right next to you. I didn't think much of it at the time but the last four years have been terrible. It seems like nothing goes right and I still occasionally get attacked by a demon. I may not have realized it then but I made a huge sacrifice for God. God didn't rescue me when I prayed to him the first night and for good reason since I led my friend to christ the next day however God still hasn't told the demon to stop attacking me. My question is first if anyone has experienced a demon attack? Secondly, how do you keep the faith when God threw you in the fire and still hasn't came to get you? Or is that the nitty gritty part of being a christian that preachers don't like to preach? For example, all the desciples lived terrible lives of torture and persecution for following God and is that what I should expect for embarassing the devil and using a demon attack to lead someone to christ.
Hello

I just signed up today.

I did a web search on information on this very subject and found this site and thread/blog. I became born-again this time last year. Since then, I have been having issues with something coming into my bedroom at night and touching me. Nothing really bad, just mainly playing with my feet. But, its been driving me crazy because it will sometimes do it more than once during the night (like last night for example) and makes it hard for me to sleep.

I'm glad others have had experienced this because that means that I am not alone (don't take that the wrong way!). I tried talking about it to my Pastor but he was absolutely clueless on what to do, so I have been dealing with it on my own now for, actually over a year.

I have tried many times to rebuke it in Jesus' name, and most of the time it works, but sometimes it just keeps coming back. I am new to all this so please excuse my ignorance if I don't know exactly what to do. I do not agree completely with Piratzz on everything but it sure did feel like God was leaving me to fend for myself and I was greatly troubled by it. I'm sure its the simple fact that I'm a "beginner" and learning about this much later in life. The sad thing is, I don't have anyone else (Christians) to turn to in order to help me with this. I guess this is something that I have to put up with from now on.

Demons are limited in what they can do because of spiritual laws. That means that if they are harassing you, they can only be doing so through some entry point in your life. If they began harassing after you became a Christian, it may be familial or demonic issues tied to your family or ancestry. Unfortunately, many churches and pastors are either clueless about the demonic or afraid or unwilling to deal with the topic of the demonic in a Christian's life. What kind of church do you go to?

I can relate to this as well, as a baby in Christ, i call it boot camp or learning. I started going to church, repented, got baptized, but had one foot in the world and one in church. it took a while before i realized you have to serve God wholeheartedly not swaying back and forth(but that is why the Holy Spirit teaches us). I put God first like i was suppose
to , but the spiritual battles where something else. i had never had these before i was a christian. But it is a learning
experience that helps you learn spiritual warfare and more. God bless you.. i still have battles, but that is what makes
you go, oh Jesus has got this.

1Peter4:12
12Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: 13But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.

damombomb, I agree with you, you can't have one foot in the Church on Sunday and the other in the Devil's play ground still trying to enjoy the "perks" of this man-made-world! Either you are in Christ, or you're not!

I want to point out that, piratzz did, I think, bring up one very good point! He stated that he received this demon "after" he went and saw a particular movie which was demonic in nature. This got me thinking sooo much about not only what I was watching sometimes on TV but what has been said for years by Christians who have been trying to warn people as well as former investigators and Gov't people (from three letter agencies). Actually, I know someone who is former MI or Military Intelligence, and he told me that he doesn't own a TV or even desires to watch any programs. When the subject was first brought up a few years ago, I asked him why, as I have heard people saying really weird things about why people should not watch TV at all. He told me that when he found out in Intelligence School (I guess that is what its called) that the TV was designed as a "mind control device" and is used by the Gov't. I have heard this before and I was not at all surprised to hear him utter something that I've heard before, but what did surprise me and that he admitted to me that this was taught to him in the Military's Intelligence School. One needs to stand up and take notice of that! Not to mention all of the well known Christians and authors who say to people that they are literally bringing/inviting demons on a daily basis into their homes with a TV, and movies too.

I think one of the many reasons why people suffer such attacks is because we are doing things in our daily lives that we unknowingly are bringing these things into our homes and are affecting us on a regular basis. That's my opinion.

You are probably right. We also have to remember about bitterness, anger, unforgiveness and such as well.
The world does things and they seem to be alright, but when you become a christian, the rules change.
So we can bring fruit, but we have to be pruned a lot.

I personally think that we do not even know the half of it. I think once we pass on, or when we are raptured, then that is when we will learn and be totally blown-away! But, with that said, there is so much that we can do to keep the evil one and his cronies out of our lives as much as possible. Where to start? How about, don't read books that have evil content, don't watch any TV or movies, move to a small Godly town, or far away from the nearest town, live like the Amish (well, that's a personal choice :)). I think you get the idea.

A friend of mine who later became a missionary to Israel and the Philippines who is now a Bible College professor was. He'd been into eastern religion, porn, and voyeurism. Early on into his journey of faith, he still had a problem with voyeurism. A demon would attach him at time. I won't go into detail, but it was gross. He went to someone who had a reputation for deliverance ministry who 'bound' the demon and the incidents stopped. He had another attempted attack after counseling with someone who'd had a homosexual affair many year later.

Another friend of mine lived in a house where he was a kid where doors would lock on their own and the lights would be on when they drove over the hill but be off when they got there. (They tested it out at night when some people were home and made sure it wasn't an optical illusion. Once he was in a deep sleep. His mom couldn't wake him. The curtains were blowing in the wind, but the window was closed. Once he woke up and saw a completely black shadow-like figure by his bedside and he was afraid of it. He said he heard demons shriek when a preacher cast them out once.

I know of men who have been attacked by demon possessed people but saved people cannot be possessed by demons. Demons and Christ do not share space in the heart of a man.

A key to remember in dealing with these is that YOU have to rebuke it in the name of Christ. Don't ask God to do it, YOU do it in His Name.

John 14:12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also;and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto myFather.

Christ has the power, but it is up to US to enforce it until He returns.

One thing to remember is just because you have become born-again doesn't mean that demons can't reek havoc in your life. You must learn to cast them out on your own (rebuke), or you will be going to the local deliverance ministry on a regular basis, which is okay, but it does help to know this stuff.

Christians and saved people can have demons within them and demons oppress them from the outside. The Greek word that the Bible translators translated as 'demon possessed' is 'daimonizomai' (demonized) from 'daimon' (demon) which means 'to have a demon' (a demon on the inside).

Isa. 53:5 says, "By His stripes, we are healed." This healing is for sin, sickness, diseases of all kinds (physical, mental, spiritual), and demonic issues. If Christians can't have demons but can have everything else (sin, sickness, etc.), that means Jesus' stripes only healed us from the demonic but that every other healing is optional. So then, if Christians can have sin, sicknesses, and diseases of various kinds, then Christians can have demons.

Robert L. writes about this issue: "First, let's expose the most common argument against believers having demons... they say that light cannot dwell with darkness. This is merely an assumption with no real Biblical basis. The verse most often used to back up this theory is 2 Corinthians 6:14, and it's speaking about believers marrying unbelievers. Is it saying that light 'cannot' dwell with darkness? No, it's asking what communion (partnership) light can have with darkness. In other words, is a non-believer going to have the same spiritual goals in life as a believer? No. How can they partner if they don't have anything in common spiritually? Are demons and God going to work together in a person's life? No. Can the two coexist? Yes!" (Full article: http://www.greatbiblestudy.com/deliverance_believers.php.)

I've witnessed demons manifest suddenly in a very, very respectable Christian man. This Christian, to me, was 'more born again' than most Christians I've ever met. Demons spoke through his mouth in a dark, guttural, very deep voice, many voices speaking at once, which cannot be reproduced by human vocal cords. The language sounded like Sumerian, and the room filled up with a dark, oppressive cloud as it happened. But in this testimony of a well-known minister who was delivered from a demon himself, it is hard to convince oneself that he is lying:

A key to remember in dealing with these is that YOU have to rebuke it in the name of Christ. Don't ask God to do it, YOU do it in His Name.

John 14:12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also;and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto myFather.

Christ has the power, but it is up to US to enforce it until He returns.
The teaching that "it is up to the Christian to make it happen" is more false than true. The Bible says, "Not by might nor by power but by My Spirit" (Zeph. 4:6). When Christians pray in the hundreds or thousands for someone to be healed, etc., and it doesn't happen, the foundational reason is usually because those Christians are trying to 'make it happen' by might and power. Might and power simply mean human ability. They pray to God but don't know to seek His will or strategy for the healing or whatever they are seeking. When they don't specifically seek His way of doing things, they will usually be automatically doing things "by might" and "by power". We see this truth in that Jesus did nothing of His own might and power but what He saw God doing (i.e. God did it through Him because He was always seeking God's way or wisdom in how to proceed).

We Christians hold many unbiblical teachings today as biblical. You hear something enough times, you start believing it in spite of evidence to the contrary. They talk about self-deliverance today. Though it is possible to pray for healing or deliverance for yourself, the Bible does not tell anyone to cast demons out of themselves or to heal themselves. Rather, it puts that ministry in the hands of other Christians outside of the Christian who is having the issue. Furthermore, some evil spirits you command to leave and some you ask God to take care of; still for others, you need the help of other Christians along with God's strategy to resolve the issue. The Bible is full of examples of these if you want some.

Jesus said that those who believe in Him will do the works He did and even greater. Follow me here: Jn. 3:16 says that those who believe will have eternal Life. The word 'believe' in the Bible often means 'follow'. Parents desire their kids to do better than them; and the Lord desires His people to do more than He did. However, if it is "not by might nor by power but by My Spirit", then what does this mean for the person who 'does the works of Christ'? It means that those who will do His works are those who follow Him through whom He will do the works. This basically means that if He isn't the one doing the works, then no amount of 'believing' will make it happen for a Christian. The Christian who follows Him will do what he sees Him doing (and therefore it will work) just as Jesus followed the Father and did what He saw Him doing (and therefore everything He did worked). This is the meaning of that passage, and it is how it works.

God surely is the one who sent the demon, but why are you expecting God to remove a demon that He told you to take care of. He gave you all power over the foul stench turds, so use what He gave you... after you repent, then confess the sin verbally that opened the door that caused the demon to be sent to you in the first place, then ask for God's forgiveness, then thank Him for doing so. Once that is done, you will be cleansed of all unrighteousness and restored to fellowship. The sin is what gave the foul spirit legal right to be there in the first place, so you have to repent and confess it before God so He can forgive you of that sin and strip the thing of the legal right it had to be there. Now you can take the word of God and command the thing to go in the name of Jesus, and it WILL go, if you believe the word of God and that God did what you commanded the thing to do, according to Mk 11:23.
