..................... But: you know that little snarky feeling you got when you typed the original post? How holy and righteous and correct you felt? That was a shot of dopamine. I'm feeling something similar in pointing this out. So perhaps it won't satisfy me, but it's fun.

Yet, if the best you can do is: "Why are you here? Aha, I've proven something!!!" then yes, it's boring.

I suppose it's time for a demonstration. Observe:
So, you're simply trolling. Trying to get pleasure from what you perceive as someone elses stupidity. I cannot do anything that makes me feel "holy and righteous and correct". For you to make such a statement clarifies why you're here. If you knew me, or were familiar with my posts, you would know that self-righteousness is not something I am interested in. Well, enjoy your stay. Could be that you will hear something that will do you some good down the road.

And yet, having faced death once and possibly twice now, I do not feel as though there is a god. I hear people talking rapturously about their relationship, but I think they are incorrect. I think they are scared and are willing to cling to something that promises them eternal life.
What you fail to understand and refuse to acknowledge is that we aren't desperately clinging to Christian beliefs by a tiny thread of faith and denying reality in the process. Maybe that describes your faith when you used to be a Christian, but it certainly does not apply to all Christians. We aren't beliving the Bible in spite of reality. When we read the Bible and look out into the world, we see that the Bible IS reality. We see the words of the Bible come to life.

Then you're the blind person that needed rescuing, not some other guy. Jesus didn't come for the people that have morality and well-thinking, he came for the one's who didn't.

So many christians ask 'if you don't believe in heaven or hell, what stops you raping and murdering?'

it's like .. 'emm, cause that's fairly sick'. To me it seems like your average atheist isn't the one with the moral issue.
Whether or not you think you're moral doesn't mean much. Jesus came to call sinners to repentance, and all are sinners.

Speaking of heaven and hell, when I was an atheist and didn't believe in either, my lack of belief was the only thing stopping me from murdering someone. You see, I viewed death as the end, that there was no afterlife. As a result, I wouldn't kill anyone. Why? Because death meant they didn't feel pain anymore. I wanted them alive so they could feel pain and suffering.

Looks like some of you haven't even bothered reading what atheists have been saying in other threads.

I don't believe there are any "true" or "pure" atheists. For I have seen those who claim to be atheists, but when confronted with the reality of what the TRUE END RESULT of such a belief is, they fall far short of fulfilling the ideology.

The end/ultimate result of the atheist ideology is total and complete CAHOS.

i'm not sure if a person can truly be an atheist, but the Word says every knee will bow, and every tongue will confess Christ Jesus is Lord. So if one doesn't believe now, they will later for sure, believe it or not.

I can certainly be an atheist. I've had people on here calling me irrational and foolish because I don't believe.

Let's get that into perspective. I'm irrational because I done believe in talking animals, giants, demons, angels, virgin births and zombies?

Would you mind defining what a true or pure atheist is in your understanding? How would I know, for instance, I am a true or pure atheist? Also is a true atheist the same thing as a pure atheist?

In what way do they fall short? For example, have I fallen short "of what the TRUE END RESULT of such a belief is"?

That would be chaos. I think some stray chaos from all the atheists around here slipped out and stirred up your letters. :)

Can you define atheist ideology for me? Also would an atheist ideology be restricted solely to atheists or would it also be shared by others in society? For example acceptance of evolution is found among millions of liberally minded Christians, so evolution is not exclusive to the mind set of atheists. I know, for example, that evolution is accepted by large numbers of Jews, perhaps by the majority of Jews. I think also Hindus, Buddhists and people of other belief systems also accept evolution. Perhaps evolution is part of a secular and not an atheist agenda? What do you think? The belief that Jesus is the son of God is exclusive to Christians, so I would think in pointing to an atheist ideology you must look for beliefs that are exclusive to atheists. What beliefs would you say are exclusive to atheists? For my part I can only think of one.

I submit they are simply liars - to themselves and to those they tell that to. We have all heard the saying "there are no atheists in foxholes", well I believe that is true. I believe when facing death every man knows he is facing a meeting with his maker. People simply want to be the man in charge. They don't want to answer to anyone, or anything else. They want to believe they are the ultimate authority in their life, that they run the show. I had a thought a couple of days ago - how long would it take an atheist in a space ship, after being jettisoned out the door like so much flotsam, to call on God? That thought alone makes one feel quite insignificant.
Greetings brother phil, have you ever heard of spiritually bondage? look at someone... let's say addicted to cigarettes, you see that is a spiritual bondage right there, and if the person doesn't know christ they will believe that bondage is apart of them that it's actually their problem that they addicted and love cigarettes but they are spiritually corrupted and don't know it, now look at this

[h=3]1 John 4:3[/h]King James Version (KJV)

3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

spiritual bondage, do you see? anti christ spirit, can't accept christ

The universe is like a large fishbowl.
Everything and everyone is known and watched by God.
After people die, they will be resurrected and face judgment and consequences (John 5:28-29).
All will be found guilty.
Pardons are available now in a limited time offer because the guiltless, God-huMan Jesus Christ has made them available through His sinless triumph and blood.
A Sovereign God must grant pardon and the miracle of the new birth (John 3).
Seek God. Seek pardon. Believe in Jesus. Follow Jesus. Pray and Rejoice.

That's me. I haven't bothered because an atheist on a christian thread is senseless. Some of those leach over into the other threads, which is why I started this. Why is an "atheist" on here in the first place? Because they know there is something they are missing. Either that or to cause trouble. Take your pick. I emphatically reject atheism and embrace Christ, and I want everyone to see that so that they will know something is missing in their life.

I've been on the edge of death, within minutes of being beyond help, and I might be there soon again. We are waiting on tests to see if it's cancer, as we suspect. There have already been two positive tests and those are usually 100% sensitive. And once it starts showing, it has usually metastasized.

I do not want to die. I will feel disappointed if I don't get to 40. The pain hasn't served any purpose and the symptoms haven't made me stronger. If the doctors are correct, the survival rate is 2/3 at 5 years.

And yet, having faced death once and possibly twice now, I do not feel as though there is a god. I hear people talking rapturously about their relationship, but I think they are incorrect. I think they are scared and are willing to cling to something that promises them eternal life.

It's not because I want to be in charge. I feel like a man looking at the blue sky, being told that it is yellow, and that his refusal to acknowledge it means he thinks he is god.

You are wrong about this. I once realized that I would not wake up and all I felt was peace. There was nothing to do, nothing to fear. Peace, like all the things I worried about no longer mattered. No future, no more pain. No god either.
Sorry for what you are going through, praying things get better for you, and you know, I am not going to preach at you or to you, just love you and am praying this problem leaves and not by death here, either, by more life and now to enjoy, and not harm anyone else, which I suspect you do love your neighbor as yourself
Sending hope your way

Sorry, phil112, but I would differ. Atheists and others seeking truth, righteousness, meaning, purpose, etc. are welcome and wanted here (at least by me). I am glad that they have been here (now they may leave :D).

But, remember that Almighty God is watching. He loves righteousness and hates wickedness (Psalm 45:7, Hebrews 1:9). Actions and attitudes are not without consequences.

Behold and consider both the goodness and severity of God. Repent, believe, receive remission of sins (Romans 11:22, Romans 2:4). Love and hate what Almighty God loves and hates.

I never said they weren't welcome here. I gave two reasons for them being here. Knowledge about something they are missing (hence they are convinced in their heart), and trolling. Give me another reason. The trolls can go away. The others are indeed welcome to stay. We all should welcome the opportunity to get our foot in the door, to persuade some of the goodness and grace of God.

It's a matter of suppressing the reality of God to the point that they believe the lie that there is no God.

Romans 1:18-20 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.
For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

But I have only been so far as an agnostic, so I can't speak first hand.

let's just say that there are many people who trust their own opinions,
and that many of those opinions are wrong.

Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time?
who hath told it from that time? have not I the LORD?
and there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside me.
Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.
I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return,
That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear.

(Isaiah 45:21-23)

it's only a matter of time before the atheist opinion is confounded, and then there will no longer be any such person.

you could say, in the long run, there aren't any atheists - no one will spend eternity believing there is no God, for all men will bow in His presence.

you could say too, that anyone who will not confess the Living God makes himself his own "god" -- so atheists are "theists" in the sense they call themselves "god" by setting their own thinking above the true testimony of the One True God.

Sebastin please forgive Phil. We "Christians" often have trouble explaining what we mean. By coming here God knows that you're looking for the truth to questions such as, "Why am I here?", "Why is there death and suffering?", "Where am I going to end up when I die?" I like you had those and many more questions that I needed answers too. As you can see I am old and have lived a long life. A life that was empty and "boring". One day I asked Jesus to come into my life and since then many questions that I had have been answerd. If you haven't already, saying a simple prayer will get you on the road to this mystery of life. Say it in secret and mean it with all your heart:

Jesus,

I am accepting Your invitation of being Born Again so my name can be written in the Lamb's Book of Life. I surrender my life to You, the good, bad and ugly. My past, present and future in exchange for the Life You have for me. Jesus, Baptize me in the Holy Spirit & Fire. Deliver and heal me where I need it. Thank You that You will now let me know that I am Protected, Loved and Blessed by You from this time forward and forever more. Thank You for leading me from this time on. In Jesus name, Amen.

Once you have said that prayer Jesus will come into your life and open many doors for you and He will never leave you!

We're all praying that you be healed and with that you will know the power of prayer. To those "Christians" that find those that don't believe as we do I give this advice.
LIVE IN SUCH A WAY
THOSE WHO KNOW YOU,
BUT DON'T KNOW GOD
WILL COME TO KNOW GOD
BECAUSE THEY KNOW YOU.

When we start weeping for those who believe in atheism instead of condemning them, then we might start seeing people saved.

Christians are to judge within the church, but not in the world. That is up to God.

my heart breaks at the lack of genuine love and concern for our fellow man who is perishing.

I know this may sound trite, but if there be any atheist here that ever wants to simply talk or share their concerns about life, I would love to talk and share life with them.

If you are going to truly meet Jesus, then one of the first steps is to see Jesus living through me.
I can not express in words how much God desires all men to come to Him.
