This is kind of interesting. If you read some of the comments you might be mildly surprised. You have to click to expand some of them, but it is nice to hear there are still people there are ardent about their belief in the bible.

Ulf Ekman, pastor and founder of Word of Life Church in Uppsala, Sweden, told parishioners Sunday during his sermon that he and his wife, Birgitta, have experienced a theological change-of-heart, Charisma News reported.

strange, i always assumed that the lack of denomination was a "once you go non-denominational you never go back" kinda thing.

Another Word of Faith conversion to Catholicism! Out of the frying pan into the fire!

I guess when you have no faith, like the Word Faith, relying on your own works rather than the grace of God, the Catholic Church is a step up?? Relying on forgiveness of a priest and church, instead of your own personal relationship with Christ! Too bad this pastor did not read the Bible for himself, and find out what it says about false religions!

I look forward to the announcement that he has converted again, and found the light, becoming a Baptist! LOL

If I did not believe in salvation by the grace of God through faith in the work of God alone, and the eternal life of the child of God secured by his son and the seal of the spirit.

I would be catholic. they have the most rules and regulation, thus the best chance to work their way to heaven (they even have purgatory just in case you did not do enough work here on earth)

so this does not suprise me one bit

I was going to mention the same thing. They didn't really change their religion. They still believe in a works based gospel. They still believe its the church and the power of the pastor that saves. And the catholic church is probably the closest out of the "christian" churches to the oldest work based religions.

I wish there was something I could say to help people trapped in this to understand. Your quote of proverbs seems like the best thing to say...

I do not know where you received your understanding of the faith of the Catholic Church, but we do not believe pastors save us or that our works save us.
Salvation is by grace alone through faith in Jesus Christ, any good works we do are through the grace of God. We do not believe we earn our salvation.
We do not believe in sola fide , sola scriptura which is what I assume you believe in.
We believe in grace alone , sacred scripture and sacred tradition as interpreted by the teaching authority of the Church.
We believe we receive the grace of God primarily through the sacraments of the church.

There is a great deal of misunderstanding of the Catholic Church on these threads and I am not here to set everyone straight. I believe many other faith traditions have received the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ. It is my prayer that many would come to believe we are all members of the same body, which is Christ our Lord.

Christ be with you always.

then why do you do all those works you claim save you? You say they are of grace, but your just foolin gyourself. Your works are no better than the OT jewish works, Which never saved them.

You say a pastor can not save you, yet he has the power to forgive sin.

On the contrary my friend, You do nt know what your church teaches. If you did, you would run..

As I said I am not here to set everyone straight on the catholic church, I am not here to proselytize you. And I would appreciate you not trying to proselytize me.

Christ's love always.

So is he getting an annulment of his marriage and taking the vow of being celibate or is the RCC going to let that slide?
I think if you read, he is now retired as pastor and that would make him simply a member of the congregation, not a priest. I would not trust anything that comes out of this liars mouth. He has bashed the catholics in the past, yet tells us he has been leaning towards becoming one for years? Can you say hypocrite?

Is it a plea for help or just for attention?

From one form of darkness to a deeper form of darkness. Scripture says they went out from us because they were not of us. Children of darkness returning to the darkness of their own vain imaginations.

For the cause of Christ

Why do you continue to spread the false hood, that the Holy Spirit does NOT convict man of sin? YOu hav ento attmepted to recant this error ever since you posted it.

Don't atmept to remove the splinter in someone else until you take the beam out of your own eye.
