Here are two Scriptures to compare and consider........

John 3:16) For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

1st John 3:16) Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

Anyone notice? Anyone see why I chose these two?

:)

Ah yes.

Since God loved us (and showed us HIS definition of love)
We aught to love others (not our definition of love, but Gods)

otherwise known as the LAW of love..

Mathew 10 39 kjv,
John 15:13 KJV

God Bless

Matthew 10:39) He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.

John 15:13) Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

John.............OK, good one........would you make the connection with the Matthew verse please? (just asking... :) )

Does anyone know of another example in Scripture where this occurs? The same Chapter, same verse have the same message, but in different Books?

And his name—by faith in his name—has made this man strong whom you see and know, and the faith that is through Jesus has given the man this perfect health in the presence of you all.
(Acts 3:16)

see how that by Love Christ was given, and how that by this great love we are made whole? (!)

But when one turns to the Lord, the veil is removed.
(2 Corinthians 3:16)

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
(Gen 1:1)

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
(Joh 1:1)

That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;
(1Jn 1:1)

...well kinda

May GOD the FATHER of our LORD JESUS CHRIST bless you all with kindness and peace. Thank you for the Holy Scripture sharing.

Introduction
In other words if i may, share that i was guided to say, 'HE did not only lay down HIS life on the Cross for all sinners but also lay down HIS life as a person in this world against all of carnality/fleshly (Galatians 5;16-21) temptations and their founded living providence, in and by this world day by day, in order to remain single mindfully in obedience to the every Word of GOD the FATHER and to remain in submission single heartedly acting and representing in the fullness and likeness of the FATHER, together with the HOLY SPIRIT and accomplish the FATHER's will for His friends sake'.
'And His friends also lay down their lives against the same riches of this world, for also their friend's sake, even for friends to the ends of the earth'.

1. Can we who are founded in the Word of GOD, in faith to all of them say to CHRIST, that we are ready right now to lay down our lives for our friends?
2. Or are we ready now in action to lay down our lives for our friends?
3. Or have we laid them down for our friends already?

Conclusion
Have we truthfully and faithfully lay down our lives of carnality/flesh/Self lives(Galatians 5;24) and it's fruits(Galatians 5;19-21) first, that is written in the same passage, it is in enmity and warring against the HOLY SPIRIT(Galatians 5;17) and it hinders HIS fruits(Galatians 5;22-23) of righteousness founded to the truth, to manifest from within us, for the sake of our friends.
Galatians 5;towards end of verse 17, the Word says, "........................................, to keep you from doing the things you want to do."

Memorandum
JESUS wept(in the KJV version, midst of verse 8) after speaking this parables written in Luke 8;11-15, because of the three wasted grounds and they also relate and are summed up to another of JESUS's saying;

"Many are called but only a few chosen."

Examine ourselves in the presence of the Holy Trinity that;

"Do we become 'joy and excited' or 'offended and wrath', during even small tribulations and persecutions?"

No but there are interesting verses laid out in particular places like the center verse of the bible....

It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man! Psalm 118:8

I will add I bête there are other examples....and I, you and we have all read them, but miss the connection sometimes....

Probably, and I am looking.......... :) When multiple Scriptures state the same Truth it is called the "Affirmation of Scripture" I believe...........or, something like that........

Praise and thanks be to our merciful blessed GOD the FATHER of our LORD JESUS CHRIST, Brother P_rehbein and LORD JESUS CHRIST who have imparted in us the COMFORTER who have reminded me these words of JESUS of spirit and life. This wisdom of Holy Scripture knowledge gift is used to serve others freely freely, as an unworthy servant who is just doing his duty.

May the Good and Merciful GOD through CHRIST our LORD JESUS, our Great High Priest in Heaven, seated at the Throne of Grace, help us in all our weakness and set us free from carnality and from grieving the HOLY SPIRIT.

i have just watched in You Tube a short movie called 'Captive Faith'. It is about Russian believers, because of their faith in the HOLY BIBLE, they are arrested and placed in labor camps set by the Communist rule party in their country. They were separated from their families and sent to a remote area and placed together with other pagan criminals.

Their faith was tested day by day by officers and by stirred up pagan inmates either in doors or outdoors. But CHRIST was with them, encouraged them to keep on praying for each other and others and also labor camp officials everyday, by getting down on their knees and also to keep on sharing the Word in order to build and to edify and to encourage and to bring new believers into the faith.

i witnessed heartedly felt Brotherly kindness, 'united', when being away from their loved ones, they had each other to cling to, since being distant from the necessity and pleasure of this world provides and being glad together day by day and ready to suffer for their faith and in the hands of their human enemies.

They were granted chance for amnesty on the Communist party rule national day, for early release to be together with their family again, if only they would renounce their faith and their Christian conducts in the camps. But they refused and confessed boldly to officials that they must continue only to please GOD and for that the angry officials detained them for many years and gave them hard labor.

JESUS said this (and i Scripture quote them partly in relation to this movie), in the midst of HIS disciples, the crowd and the followers of John the Baptist who came to HIM for reconfirmation whether HE is the MESSIAH, sent by John;

"Violent men try to take the Kingdom of GOD by force."

In this movie i witnessed the persecution of believers for their faith is not as bad as in North Korea but still similarly moving for me to be ashamed of myself of being in the comfort zone and being a coward only sharing to those i am able and have opportunity to share but they openly and boldly confessed and shared their faith and the Gospel.

One of the Help of the COMFORTER is to tell us what is going to happen that, the rule of Anti-CHRIST will be the same rule as these Communist party rule, once practiced by the Romans, as even now we have witnessed in certain practicing countries, where truth founded believers are persecuted/tested for their faith to be of refined purity. Also dictatorship is focus on one savior and he is god the citizens worship him only.

Please let us all together take note and share and prepare others, especially present world life challenges facing youths of competitions and also high expectation, our forerunners labored and prepare by us, ready for the day of persecution (of the enemy)/test (will of GOD for refined purity) and also together pray to the FATHER, as JESUS taught HIS disciples before leaving that;

"Count us worthy to escape Tribulation."

Pray all of you who believe these writings and even for me if you will because, 'If we fail them now, they may fail us in the future that may be very soon.

Aren't we all then are answerable to GOD through CHRIST on the judgement seat in regards to our labor and the lay down of our lives for friends sake?

Hi, p-rebein,

The original writings had no punctuation, chapters or verse breaks, these were added by man. So if a verse has the same reference number as well as content it is just coincidence. A thrilling coincidence, and maybe engineered by the Holy Spirit's hand, to catch our attention (as happens with the use of figures of speech in Scripture) ; but I think we should be careful not to attach our own understanding to it.

In Christ Jesus

Chris...........I am and was aware of that fact.............and that is why I found it so worthy of mention........ :)

........and, I don't I attached any "understanding" to it........just mentioned it as worthy of consideration.

God bless......

I don't know if you know this, but the word "bête" is French for beast or animal, but generally it is used to mean idiot, stupid or ignorant.

Be careful when you quote French, unless you google translate first. It is a language that I am fluent in, and I used to teach French Immersion and FSL.

Sorry for being off-topic! I just couldn't think of any verses that worked that way.
