New heaven new earth.

The bible began in geneis with the creations of the heavens and the earth.

It ends in the book of revelation with a vision of Gods coming new creation a new heaven and earth which all Gods people will live in peace and joy.

As his vision was reaching its conclusion John saw a final attempt by Satan to defeat Gods people.

But God triumphed over his enemy banishing him to a fiery lake of burning sulfur.

Then John saw all the people who had ever lived on earth being brought before Gods throne.
Books where opened and the dead were judged according to what they had done .

(at this point i would advice you to read Mathew 18:21-35 the parable of the unforgiving servant.)

Let us proceed. As recorded in the books Another book was opened called the book of life, was also opened those who names where not in the Book where sent to the lake of fire. (Malachi 3:13-18 the book of remembrance).

God was riding the world of the enemies who had opposed him and his people. With their defeat the whole of creation underwent a glorious transformation.

Then i saw a new heaven and a new earth

New worlds
John watched as heaven and earth completely disappeared: ,, the First heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. this can be found in rev 21:1. For Jews, the sea was a place of chaos and danger but Gods new world was to contain only peace and order.
As john watched, a city appeared in a new heaven, where God was enthroned.
It was Jerusalem but not the old city that John had know in Judea, this was a transformed Jerusalem, coming down from heaven to earth. John saw that it was radiant and pure, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband, (rev 21:2)
then John herd a loud voice, coming from Gods throne, saying, look gods dwelling place is now among the people (rev 21:3) the new Jerusalem had not been sent from God,,, God himself was coming with it.

to live in the center of his new world. then God spoke to john, telling him that his faithful people would live with him in this new world, and God would make sure that death, pain, disorder, and sin would never disrupt there live together.

There will be no more death or mourning as in grieving or crying or pain, for the old order of things as passed away, (rev 21:4).

God instructed John to write down his words because they where true.

He is the alpha and the omega, which means the beginning and the end. 21:6.

The city of gold
as the vision continued, an angel carried upto an mountain over looking the new city of Jerusalem.
Every detail of the city that john could see shone with the glory of God 21:11.

The angel give John a golden measuring rod so that he could measure the size of the new Jerusalem it was huge 1400 miles in length, width and height there was plenty of room for all Gods people.

The city was constructed from pure Gold and decorated with all kinds of precious stones.

THE gates where en-scribed with the names of the 12 tribes of is-real and the walls with the names of the 12 apostles.
unlike the old city of Jerusalem, the new city was dominated by a temple. there was no need for it, the temple had been the meeting point between God who lived in Heaven and his people, who lived on earth.

But in the new Jerusalem God would live among his people heaven had come down to earth.

The river of life Through the of the city John saw a river, Flowing out from Gods throne. as the life giving water flowed through the city, it watered the trea of life.

This tree was constantly bearing fruit, all through the year, bringing healing to the nations of the world, Gods presence in the city was the source of light, so there was no longer such a thing as night and there was no need for the light of a lamp or the light of the sun (rev 22:5.) nothing impure would ever enter the city and only those whose where written in the lambs book of life (rev 21:27) would live there.

The angel turned to John and told him to remember all he had seen. It would not be long before it all happened Gods new heaven and earth where coming soon. God bless

This why I tell Christians all the time that Heaven is not the final destination, but the new earth is. This is perhaps one of the most easily manipulated topics in all of Christianity. We have songs and everything telling us the streets of Gold are in heaven...That is all wrong. The streets of New Jerusalem are as Gold[ see Rev 21.21]...When People tell me they are going to heaven for eternity, I usually tell them I will be waving to them on my way down to the new earth.

The new Jerusalem is not heaven....and we would do well to understand that.

If people read and ask for an understanding they will see that GOD recycles everything. It says New Jerusalem will descend from heaven, but never says it will ascend back up again. My belief is that, those whomare sealed by GOD will be caught up in New Jerusalem and God will send fire to the earth and all of revelation will play out. FIRE is a cleanser. So people, especially Saints need to make sure they are sealed by GOD. GOD will judge the church first and truly Jesus is about to come

How can you be caught up in New Jerusalem when the Bible clearly says John saw it coming down out of heaven onto the new earth?

when is that likely to be ? when we see a new Jerusalem my understanding of when that may be is when we see more Jews believing JESUS was the messiah.
I know coming soon is not a date and i dont want to give a date and i dont want you too either as that is a no no.

But i believe until the Jews except Jesus its then it will happen.

And im not saying this to offend jews because i know there just people at the end of day and i know some do except him.
But i wish they could because i really need to see my mum.

The connection of the “heavens” with ruling power aids in understanding the meaning of the expression “new heavens and a new earth” found at Isaiah 65:17; 66:22 and quoted by the apostle Peter at 2 Peter 3:13. Observing such relationship, M’Clintock and Strong’s Cyclopaedia (1891, Vol. IV, p. 122) comments: “In Isa. lxv, 17, a new heaven and a new earth signify a new government, new kingdom, new people.”

In the Bible, “earth” does not always refer to our globe. For instance, Psalm 96:1 says literally: “Sing to Jehovah, all the earth.” We know that our planet-the terra firma and the vast oceans-cannot sing. People sing. Yes, Psalm 96:1 is referring to the people on the earth. If “heavens” can symbolize the superior ruling power or government so, to “earth.” represents a new society of people.

The prophecy presenting the promise of “new heavens and a new earth,” given through Isaiah, was one dealing initially with the restoration of Israel from Babylonian exile. Upon the Israelites’ return to their homeland, they entered into a new system of things. Cyrus the Great was used prominently by God in bringing about that restoration. Back in Jerusalem, Zerubbabel (a descendant of David) served as governor, and Joshua as high priest. In harmony with Jehovah’s purpose, this new governmental arrangement, or “new heavens,” directed and supervised the subject people.-2 Chronicles 36:23; Haggai 1:1, 14.
Peter, however, shows that a future fulfillment was to be anticipated, on the basis of God’s promise. (2 Peter 3:13) Since God’s promise in this case relates to the presence of Christ Jesus, as shown at verse 4, the “new heavens and a new earth” must relate to God’s Messianic Kingdom and its rule over obedient subjects. By his resurrection and ascension to God’s right hand, Christ Jesus became “higher than the heavens” (Hebrews 7:26) in that he was thereby placed “far above every government and authority and power and lordship…not only in this system of things, but also in that to come.” (Ephesians 1:19-21; Matthew 28:18) This Kingdom government, under Christ and his 144,000 corulers, is the new heavens.-Revelation 14:1.

These Christian followers of Jesus, as “partakers of the heavenly calling” (Hebrews 3:1), are assigned by God as “heirs” in union with Christ, through whom God purposed “to gather all things together again.” “The things in the heavens,” that is, those called to heavenly life, are the first to be thus gathered into unity with God through Christ. (Ephesians 1:8-11) Their inheritance is “reserved in the heavens.” (1 Peter 1:3, 4; Colossians 1:5; compare John 14:2, 3) They are “enrolled” and have their “citizenship” in the heavens. (Hebrews 12:23; Philippians 3:20) They form the “New Jerusalem” seen in John’s vision as “coming down out of heaven from God.” (Revelation 21:2, 9, 10) Since this vision is initially stated to be of “a new heaven and a new earth” (Revelation 21:1), it follows that both are represented in what is thereafter described. Hence the “new heaven” must correspond to Christ together with his “bride,” the “New Jerusalem,” and the “new earth” is seen in the “peoples of mankind” who are their subjects and who receive the blessings of their rule, as depicted in verses 3 and 4.

John’s vision refers to the passing away of “the former heaven and the former earth.” (Revelation 21:1; compare Isaiah 57:20; Revelation 20:11.) In the Christian Greek Scriptures, earthly governments and their peoples are shown to be subject to Satanic rule. (Matthew 4:8, 9; John 12:31; 2 Corinthians 4:3, 4; Revelation 12:9; 16:13, 14) The apostle Paul referred to “the wicked spirit forces in the heavenly places,” with their governments, authorities, and world rulers. (Ephesians 6:12) So the passing away of “the former heaven” indicates the end of political governments along with Satan and his demons. This identification of “the former heaven” harmonizes with the fact that shortly before the statement concerning the “former heaven having passed away,” John had seen a vision of the complete defeat of Satan’s forces and the casting of Satan into “the abyss.”-Revelation 19:19-20:3.

As for the new earth, following the pattern of the ancient fulfillment, the new earth will be made up of people-from all nationalities, languages, and races-who gladly submit to the rulership of the new heavenly government. After the passing of the present wicked system of things, this group will form the nucleus of a new earth that will eventually be a globe-encircling society of God-fearing humans who inherit the earthly realm of God’s Kingdom.-Matthew 25:34.

As for me I am not going to ask God to tell me all about the details, about what metal will be where, what the difference is in the new heaven and the new earth, or any of it. I am just going to trust God and go where He directs.

It is the New Creation that replaces the old...and allows for an abode in which God can dwell with His Righteous.

Hi and thank-you very much for posting,, Thanks for the effort you took here looks like a lot of work there you have done,,ill look into all thees scripture you posted,,in the mean time how do you feel about this scripture being connected to my first post,,,

With Isaac deceived and Esau angry, Rebekah had arranged to send Jacob to her family in Mesopotamia.

Jacob did not know whether Gods promises to Abraham would be his, after all he had done. An encounter with God on his journey provided the answer.

Jacobs journey was long some 450 miles and many over night stops where needed. One such stop changed his life forever.
Jacob had settled down for the night, using a stone as a pillow. as he slept, he dreamed about a stairway its base was on the earth and its top touched heaven, and angels were climbing up and down it. At the top stood God, who declared, I am the lord, The God of your farther Abraham and the God of Isaac. God then promised to give jacob the land where he was lying, to make his descendants as wide spread as the dust on the earth, and through them to bless everyone on earth, a reaffirmation of his promise to Abraham.

God then added something that probably surprised Jacob after all he had done.. he said, I am with you and will watch over you where ever you go, and i will bring you back to this land.

I will not leave you until i have done what i have promised you.

Jacob awoke and was afraid because he realized that god was there and that he had not been aware of it, and that was a holy place, Gods house, the very gate of heaven.

Early the next mourning, he took the stone that had been his pillow and erected it as a pillar, consecrating it with oil.
He changed the places name from Luz to Bethel, which means House of God.

Then he mad a vow, saying that if God would be with him and watch over him on this journey and would allow him to return home safely, then the lord would be his God, this would be a holy spot forever, and he would give God a tenth of all he received. He then went on his way. this event was a key moment for Jacob, firstly because he realized that the God of his fathers could be his God too, and secondly, Because he now understood That God could be en-counted anywhere.

His dream had revealed the connection between God in heaven and the people on earth. It had shown Jacob that the God who had said he was with him and would not leave him, who would watch over him where ever he went, and would bring him back to cannon, was no mere territorial God.

He could be found anywhere and could go with his people anywhere.
A crucial revelation.

This is none other than the House of God this is the gate of heaven, GENESIS 28:17

The New Jerusalem IS indeed Heaven.

Where does it say that in the Bible?

The Bible says in Rev 21.1-3
1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. [SUP]2 [/SUP]And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
[SUP]3 [/SUP]And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

The Bible clearly and unequivocally says New Jerusalem comes down from Heaven, it does not say the New Jerusalem is Heaven...

Clearly the new Jerusalem IS NOT heaven and we should never confuse the 2.....Rev 21 does not describe heaven at all, it describes the New Jerualem which is on the new earth and is not the new heaven....

well they say a born again christian has already ascended into heaven ie his spirit is a part of the body of christ,,but yet our bodies are still on earth,, so to me heaven must be earth as well and when you die your spirit is still the same it was when you where a born again christian,, so i believe it doesn't go any where it stays on earth,,and like the this Revelation says the new heaven will be joined with the new earth.

In my opinion, the new Jerusalem is the church and it has been here for a long time.

The coming down from Heaven is as seen from the vantage point of John as detailed in Rev 21.10....and yes, the New Jerusalem is indeed Heaven as rev 21.10 onward informs the reader...

How can heaven come down from heaven onto a new earth!?

Rev 21 describes a city, not heaven, and it says wqithout question the city comes from Heaven and from God. This is not talking in terms of heaven being the sky.

Rev 21.1-2
1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. [SUP]2 [/SUP]And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

Rev 21.10 says:
[SUP]10 [/SUP]And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God

God bless

You guys are simply repeating doctrine and not scripture, so I will ask again:
How can a city from heaven come down onto heaven? When the Bible clearly says John saw the city coming out of heaven from God and onto the new earth

If we were destined for heaven then God would have never created the earth and Adam and Eve would have lived in heaven.

Heaven is not the final destination, the new earth is, whose HQ, if you will is New Jerusalem
