You have all heard the phrase or something alone these lines, "In every religion you are to be a good person, which makes all religions true. Because being a good person and treating others nicely is all that matters in this world. So i dont need a religion because I live life with care for others."

I was talking to a german guy on the bus and he told me his world view. He asked what I do and I said I love Jesus and he loves you too. Well he appreciated that and I said "Your world view might change" and he quickly shook his head and said "no."

This made me think that this world view is popular among... EVERYONE. I mean, it seems perfect on a human level. On a surface level, yeah, it seems right that all you need to do in this world is be a good person. Part of the reason why I realized it was everyone's common world view was because this guy was german from germany.

I am pursuing this call that we are all called to "make disciples". And today I ran into a question that has been on my mind for a while. I asked God what I should do and I got the impression that I need to just pray for him and show him a miracle rather than using some sort of human arguement. But I need words too, I'm fine with faith miracles but I don't want just power only. The kingdom of God is a matter of words AND power.

How would I go about showing this person, without telling him he will go to hell if he keeps it up, that he is a sinner in need of a savior and that only Jesus can forgive. How would I tell him that there is only one God, and that only 1 religion can be true?

youve made a start so i think next time you speak to him he might want to know more.

But by the sound of things he does know Jesus if he cares for people, as for the hell thing people are not stupid most people know the difference between right and wrong. so i would not worry about having to think about that if you think to much about telling people about hell or telling them they could go to hell you could end up being seen as a judgmental person as its only Gods job to decide that, but what you could say is if you feel you need to talk to him,

you could talk about your own faith you could say that i came to Jesus and how it has helped you etc and at some point you could tell him your not afraid of hell because of the love you feel of Jesus.
Hope that helps. god bless.

I might have a bit of a different view on this, but I'd say that you should be trying to convince him that Christianity is true, rather than good, or helpful. This will involve philosophical arguments for the existence of God, historical evidence that the Bible is true, and an argument that morality can only be explained by the existence of God. I find the best way to go about this is to know the arguments and then ask him what he believes about certain things, such as, in the example of morality, "How do you know that something is right or wrong?" and after a bit of back and forth it will come down to something like, "Well if you say this is evil (immoral) and someone else says it is good (moral), then how can you say that you are right and they wrong?" and then he will start to see the need of a higher authority on the matter, that there is one objective truth. A lot of people don't want to give up their sin so they ignore God, but some people have genuine blocks in their mind that you can help them get past. You'll find out which a given person is fairly quickly, and only God can fix a hardened heart.

The 'law' or 'do good to all' is the religion of the natural man. What he doesn't realize is that his 'good' needs to be perfect to pass the bar of God's standard of goodness.
The Gospel is foreign or alien to our natural way of thinking ...Another's goodness freely imputed to ourselves? 'Such foolishness!', they say.
But this is the message that must penetrate but it takes also the Holy Spirit to open eyes.

Being a good pwerson wont get you to heaven

the way to get to heaven is the same as it always has been and the same as it was for adam and Eve.

Perfect obedience to the Bible, the Lw and the word of God....

Eve ate an apple and 100 billion people died.

perfect obedience

but
but
but
I cant be perfect

no, you cant be perfect no matter how much you try

But JEsus can be perfect

when you give your wants and wishes and hopes and fears to him and follow him
you will become lke him

while you are walking that way you are counted as perfected by his blood

if you stop walking that way his blood no longer covers you and yo perish

so

abide in the word and walk with Jesus, follow him and you are perfect in his blood

eventually you will no longer desire anything else

being good?
you cant

being in LOVE
you can

being born again is being in LOVE with JEsus to the point the other things dont matter anymore

that is where we are going.
