If you or I am incorrect (in our opinion) it is our obligation as brothers to help each other find the Truth so we both can demonstrate correct kingdom living. If we both have our hearts set upon Yeshua (Jesus), how can we fail? We fail if we have not the love for each other that Yeshua (Jesus) has for us, which He described as the love the Father has for Him. Our walk has to begin with demonstrating this love as Christians! We must beware that our piousness does not dictate blind judgment but is rather a chance to grow in service and knowledge of Yhvh (Almighty God).
Ps 64:3-6
To not agree with what someone says, and yet not prove to them how they are failing to represent Yhvh for who He is, feeds into the sins of:
1. Gossip-
Any time anyone speaks about a person not present in any way other than planning to bless that person, conspires evil against man!
2. Arrogance-
Claiming superior knowledge, all the while unwilling to prove or disprove. Those who spout out what they know only to commit multiple sins by their unwillingness to either learn more or help someone else gain a better understanding of who God is!
3. Fear-
Any change in who you think Yhvh is will destroy your faith. I hear all the time from the pulpit, “study the Bible that you may come to know God”. Yet the only way the Bible says man comes to know God is by fellowshipping. (John 14:21, Matthew 11:25, Jeremiah 33:6) It is then the bible says Yhvh will demonstrate Himself to you. The Bible is the place you test the voice, to insure it is the Lord. For those who are now thinking, “His flock will know His voice”. I counter with; “He comes disguised as an angel in white”: This disguise only works in the imitation of a message from God!) and are we not told, “ Test all things”!

Encourage each other, brother, to not be faint-hearted in what you believe to be from our God. If someone’s statement is not to your understanding, support their weakness even through long suffering until through study and proofs the truth is revealed. If you disagree with me; do not think me hostile to you or repay that thought with evil. ‘Prove all things’ means just that and anyone saying contrary is himself contrary to 1 Thessalonians 5 ;14-22. Who has not heard “iron sharpens iron”? Yet few accept this responsibility, choosing rather to “serve God in their own way”.

Does it matter who has the speck and who has the log? Let us find the truth together.

It is arrogant for us to speak something we think is of Yhvh and then not hold ourselves accountable to prove our statements to a point of simplicity. Prove what you say and I will prove what I say and let us both be ever prepared to grow in the truth of Adonai Elohiym Tazv'ot [Lord God of hosts]. May it be that Ruach Hakodesh (Spirit of the Most High) guides us to the heart and thoughts of Yhvh.

This is such a thought provoking post! It is one to really think about, and I hope everyone does without just bringing up how they disagree.

I especially like: "If you disagree with me; do not think me hostile to you or repay that thought with evil."

I have learned best on cc through people disagreeing with me. At times, it is how they have good points in their disagreeing. At other times it points out to me the weaknesses in their disagreements. Both ways I learn.

Where ever God is working, demons are drawn to that place to try to destroy. God is working in this site, and some of the ideas of God presented here are demon inspired. Often people who have given their lives to Christ are influenced by these ideas that harm the church. You can see it by watching the congregations of many of the churches in our town, congregations that should be sanctified and drawn apart from the world for Christ, but include what is not of Christ. You can even see it in some of the sexy dresses of the young, in the popular idea that the ten commandments don't apply any more. Christians who have drawn apart from the world and daily renew in Christ need to work on this site.

When posters attack the person posting instead of using scripture with ideas, almost always those posters have had something not of God influence them. These people have no idea they are being used by demons. They have almost always been given a spirit of self righteousness. Their ideas need to be handled carefully through the fruits of the spirit that come from God.

1 Thessalonians 5 ;14-22. Who has not heard “iron sharpens iron”? Yet few accept this responsibility, choosing rather to “serve God in their own way”.
I've found that to be true, even here on CC. Fellowship with believers who study what they share always sharpens me, gives me more to consider, and almost always gives me more to study out.

Ecclesiastes 10:10 If the iron be blunt, and he do not whet the edge, then must he put to more strength: but wisdom is profitable to direct.

I've never understood the harassment type of responses to messages either.

We can't force people to believe anything. Sometimes even with scripture presented to back up what we share, if they or ourselves aren't willing to look further into it nobody gains anything.

We can plant, another can water, "but only God gives the increase."

Proverbs 18:19 A brother offended is harder to be won than a strong city: and their contentions are like the bars of a castle.

If that was understood and applied, I think there would be a lot less of the accusatory type responses.

You made some great points too Redtent. Jesus said that out of the mouth flow the issues of the heart. Listening carefully to what come out of the mouth of another person, I believe is part of discernment. When you see so much anger coming from another person, there's most likely something that needs to be dealt with on their heart. And we can pray that God will help them work that out.

And on a personal level, we should be paying attention to what comes out of our mouths too.

I like what David said.

Psalms 141:3 Set a watch, O LORD, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips.

There's been few occasions, where when people share something they've put great effort into studying along with prayer, have been accused of being prideful.

It's a joy to study things out and to share what's been studied.

As you said. Sometimes we all need to be corrected, but correction of those who believe God's word takes scripture from throughout the word. Otherwise, I'm sticking with the scriptures. There's no correction or edification when it involves just opinions and especially when it involves accusations.

There is simply no room for rivalry in the body of Christ; we are called to be one with Him...

1 Corinthians 1: 10-17

Pray for and do all you can to promote unity and harmony where ever you go....

1 Corinthians 1:10. ..But I urge and entreat you, brethern , by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ , that all of you be in perfect
harmony and full agreement in what you say, and there be no dissensions or factions or divisions among you , but that you be
Perfectly united in your common understanding and in your opinions and judgements..

Ephesians 4:10 He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)
Ephesians 4:11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
Ephesians 4:12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
Ephesians 4:13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
Ephesians 4:14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
Ephesians 4:15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:
Ephesians 4:16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

The entire chapter of Eph 4, is excellent. It goes into unity, and division. Also goes along with the passage you shared in 1 Cor 1.

What is really nice is when we all work together as the body of Christ. If you think about it each individual has a circle of friends that we don't know and God has placed us where we can do the most good when we give our hearts and lives to Him. I can reach people you don't know and the same goes for each person on CC. God has a wonderful plan for each of our lives and it is so nice when a thread has postings where people try to work together instead of prove the other guy wrong. Thanks to the OP for this thread it seems to be working so far. Blessings to all and Happy Sabbath.

After seeing Satan contending against God disguised like an angel of light through established religion as a constant, I find I must ask for the verse that supports your claim of: "no contention or division" if you please. As even the Lord was insulted and crucified (Contention and division) by the evil influences of Satan and Mankind and you now think it is different? I must see scripture that I may test to accept that.

When we allow the Holy Spirit to speak for us there is no contention or division.
