how on earth did you concoct such insane ideology. You're adding stuff that just is not there. To what end?, because you were wondering! Eve did what she did Adam did what he did you do what you do I do what I do we all do what we do are we all insane? By your thought process yes. I'm trying real hard to get your whole insane point. Look up the word and define it. Look at the synonyms and get a clear understanding of what it is you are saying. Help me understand what you're saying and you point.
Semantics.

[h=2]Full Definition of INSANITY[/h]1
: a deranged state of the mind usually occurring as a specific disorder (as schizophrenia)

2
: such unsoundness of mind or lack of understanding as prevents one from having the mental capacity required by law to enter into a particular relationship, status, or transaction or as removes one from criminal or civil responsibility

3
a : extreme folly or unreasonableness
b : something utterly foolish or unreasonable

By definition this person was using insanity in an acceptable way. Moreover the poster defined correctly how she was using the word as well. Many uses for one word.

When you sin the devil takes over your mind and you go insane
killing your partner is insanity

sinners always try and kill as many people as possible it makes them feel better

when you first moked a cigarette you wanted your friends to do it
insanity of sin
When you stole something you tried to get your friends to do it to

your mind is scared
when others do it you feel better
that is insanity
beliving you will be ok if everyone dooes it

well
you wont be

if you have a group of teenagers of say twenty
and one paretn

and they are having a discussion, and 19 teenagers think premarital sex is ok and the parent says no it is wrong and sin

guess what you will do?

insanity

This is a great example of how corruption works. Thanks for your post. :)

Satan did not say this, Eve did.

Something for everyone to ponder.

Adam did nto try to stop his wife. He did not try to correct her. He actually joined her.

This is how sin happens. We do not want to sin alone, Both of them desired to eat the fruit before satan even came, Or it would not have been so easy for temptation to ensare them. They would have simply walked away.

Then notice what happened after. the blame shift. It is obvious they did what they desired to do. they just needed an excuse, which satan gave them, And after, when the realized what they had done, The flesh (which was now dead) took over, and they blamed everyone else for their own mistake.

This happens with all of us, If we do not have a desire to do something, we can not be tempted to do it. That is why we should look on things of the spirit. and not think about things which would cause us to fall to temptation, and we will not fulfill the lusts we so desire.

Hey EG...

These are good points to ponder. I recently came across an interesting crime where a man poses as a police officer, and convinces fast food restaurant managers to strip search an employee (sometimes it was a teenage customer) -- saying they would go to jail otherwise if they didn't do what he said. Eventually, the caller was able to convince a manager's fiance who came in because the woman said he needed to, to make the teenager do sex acts on him. Well he did it.

Now, we would say this is an evil man. But he wasn't, he had never been arrested or in trouble, ever. He was a law abiding father who went to church and was loved by his community. ??

Now, this was not an isolated incident by far. 69 other cases and he did convince more innocent people to engage in sex acts. WOW. It was actually more common for people to commit the crimes than the ones who stood ground and refused. After ward the people who did these things claimed innocence and that they were also victims. And do you know the victims also did whatever they were told?

God has mercy on us because he sees our vulnerability. Satan and the other judged fallen (in whatever form they are lol) are complicit.

Devil's lake and Fallon are the first two places? HMMMMM

  • On November 30, 2000, a female McDonald's manager in Leitchfield, Kentucky, undressed herself in the presence of a customer. The caller had convinced her that the customer was a "suspected sex offender" and that the manager, serving as bait, would enable undercover police officers to arrest him.[SUP][3][/SUP]

  • On January 26, 2003, an Applebee's assistant manager subjected a waitress to a 90-minute strip search after receiving a collect call from someone who purported to be a regional manager for Applebee's.[SUP][3][/SUP]

  • In February 2003, a call was made to a McDonald's in Hinesville, Georgia. The female manager (who believed she was speaking to a police officer who was with the director of operations for the restaurant's upper management) took a 19‑year-old female employee into the women's bathroom and strip-searched her. She also brought in a 55‑year-old male employee, who conducted a body cavity search of the woman to "uncover hidden drugs." McDonald's and the GWD Management Corporation were taken to court over the incident. In 2005, U.S. District Judge John F. Nanglegranted a summary judgment to McDonald's and denied, in part, a summary judgment to GWD Management.[SUP][5][/SUP] In 2006, the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals affirmed the judgments.[SUP][6][/SUP]

  • On June 3, 2003, a Taco Bell manager in Juneau, Alaska, undressed a 14‑year-old female customer and forced her to perform lewd acts[SUP][clarification needed][/SUP] at the request of a caller who had claimed he was working with Taco Bell management to investigate drug abuse.[SUP][citation needed][/SUP]

  • In July 2003, a 36‑year-old Winn-Dixie grocery store manager in Panama City, Florida, received a call instructing him to bring a 19‑year-old female cashier (who matched a description provided by the caller) into an office where she was to be strip-searched. The cashier was forced to undress and pose in various positions as part of the search. The incident ended when another manager entered the office to retrieve a set of keys.[SUP][7][/SUP]

Wow, this thread took off like a wild horse!
Alot of good points and many opinions spoken.
It did bring home what I had been wondering about though.
As I had read in other posts that eve was decieved, in a way given an excuse.
It never really sat well with me.
Partly because I read in Romans theother night as well that we will allhaveto give an account of ourselves before God.
The eve part simply brought home the question, do we have a defence, excuse for sin?
I began to picture myself before God, having to give an account, and honestly, the last thing I want to do is make any excuse.
In fact, I figure Ill be on my face, knowing there was no excuse.
Now yes, we are forgiven, and covered by grace, thankyou Jesus, God Our Father!!!!!!
And please do not confuse what is being spoken to as trying to bring any condemnation, I see it more as being about conviction, and forgivness, for by grace we are saved!!!!
But this topic did bring home to me, that when it comes to sin? that there is no excuse.
Only God's grace!!!

Anyway, thankyou all for your posts, as it did bring alot to consideration. :)

As Paul spoke to, that as sin entered through one man, it was removed by one man, Jesus Christ is Lord come in the flesh!

There have been several posts about adam and eve, many saying eve was deceived and adam disobeyed God ect....
I never thought alot about it much, as sin was sin, and it began with them, and praise God! ended with Jesus's sacrifice.

But the other night, as I was reading the bible, this thought came to mind and I wonder what your thoughts might be on this.
So lets say eve was decieved when she ate the forbidden fruit, and yes adam knew and disobeyed.

But this is the thing that brought me to think alot about it all...
Eve took a bite of the forbidden fruit before adam, and then took the fruit to adam...
So eve had recieived the knowladge of good and evil before she gave the fruit to adam and yet, still gave adam the fruit to eat, knowing the death she was bringing to him.
Maby not a big deal in understanding of the word, but , it spoke of a truth that we all do know...
That evil begets evil, and this was the first of this as well.

Anyway, just something that I was pondering.
Please share your thoughts on this subject. :)

Eve's failure was of the heart/intellect. She was deceived. Adam's failure was of the flesh. He was not deceived but tempted. This shows us the variety of ways that Satan can cause men to fall. He attacks them where they are weak.

I know what you mean by Eve should not have made excuses, but then for that matter Adam started the excuses by blaming Eve. God is patient indeed and long-suffering towards us, though mind you still because of what was done some curses that are still very much with both genders to this day began, plus the whole death enterring the world. Good proofs that God is our only Salvation even from the Beginning.

Please do not missunderstand, I was not seeking to pass jusgement upon eve, but to point out that we need to see clearly the folly of making excuses.
For what this post helped me to see, is not wether eve was judged guilty, but that we each when before God will have to give an account of ourself.
There is a danger in passing the guilt or cause.
Like I said, this is not about condemnation, for we who believe upon Jesus are now under grace, not sin, and forgiven.
But we will still be called to give an account before God.
I speak to this for the sake of conviction, that we will see we cannot give excuse, for we will have to give an account.
Just picture yourself standing before God, and Him asking you to give an account of your self.
If anything I see how empty my hands are, for neither good deeds or excuses matter.
If anything, this brings the truth of the gift and greatness of salvation, grace given to us in Jesus's sacrifice.
And I am more greatful now than before for grace, convicted of my accountibuility before God and humbled by His love and gifts given.

Romans 8 is the answer. We have all read the story of Adam and Eve many times as carnally minded individuals. Striving to understand through the spiritual mind is how the confusion from sin is escaped and the bible is understood correctly. We have this opportunity because of the cross. Yet as many as claimed to have been saved, most still remain carnally minded in their understanding as if the cross was in vain.

Adam started out as a 'whole' being, if you'll pardon the expression. When woman was separated from him, he became only 'half' a being. So it took both of them to complete the act for the act to become 'whole'. If that makes any sense.

Also, authority had been given to Adam. Woman was commanded to submit to his authority. So whether or not Eve had eaten, Adam was the one who handed authority over by violating God's command. Eve was used to tempt him. He may have seen that she had eaten and nothing bad had happened, and expected the same if he ate. Oops.
