What joy the scriptures bring us, a meal with out end, a table filled overflowing, so much so that one will never hunger again!!!
I had foolishly forgotten this, in the last several months my life filled with so much, I justified not taking the time I used to, telling myself that it was ok to set it aside for now, Jesus porvides all I need.
I failed to remember the things we are called to in obedience, that such things bring God's gifts to us in Jesus, for God works all things to His glory!
I found myself tired, worn down by life.
It was before me like a sore thumb, the need to read the scriptures, but, well pride is an ugly thing, I figured I could manage with out it for a while.
Finally, convicted of my foolishness, chastised, I picked up my bible, it's worn and torn pages familier again, its scars and aged pages a reminder again of how it had brought me through so many troubled times.
As I read its pages again, I realised how hungry I had been, every word a feast, another filling of the mind, heart and soul.
I know we all sometimes feel pressured, or guilted into reading the scriptures, or even ask why so important?
Some like me, sometimes asking, is is really needed?
I just wanted to encourage those who dont really read the scriptures to do so.
Not because of all the reasons that accuse or judge.
But because of the feast that lay within its cover, the word of God set before us, a tangible witness to His love and glory!
May every moment spent in the scriptures, fill your mind, heart and soul with His feast, His word!
And the knowladge of His word, be made glorious in your life.
What a filling feast we are called to, thankyou Lord God for your provision!!!!!
