This thread is only for those that want to learn. If you are not interested, please don't participate. Ask any legitimate question you want, and I will do my best to answer. I have just skimmed the top (so to speak) of a profound depth, that the church of today could find beneficial. The first thing I will present is the meanings of Hebrew letters and numbers, for without them, I have found it impossible to search for the depth that the children of Israel knew because of the language they spoke. The Hebrew language is unique unlike any other language known to man, in that it is 4 dimensional and also, like some other ancient languages, pictures mean phases of explanation.

Leviticus 23:34
34 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying , The fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the feast of tabernacles for seven days unto the LORD.

Leviticus 23:39-43
39 Also in the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when ye have gathered in the fruit when ye have gathered in the fruit of the land, ye shall keep a feast unto the LORD seven days: on the first day shall be a sabbath, and on the eighth day shall be a sabbath.
40 And ye shall take you on the first day the boughs of goodly trees, branches of palm trees, and the boughs of thick trees, and willows of the brook; and ye shall rejoice before the LORD your God seven days.
41 And ye shall keep it a feast unto the LORD seven days in the year. It shall be a statute for ever in your generations: ye shall celebrate it in the seventh month.
42 Ye shall dwell in booths seven days; all that are Israelites born shall dwell in booths:
43 That your generations may know that I made the children of Israel to dwell in booths, when I brought them out of the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.

Numbers 15:2-12
2 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye be come into the land of your habitations, which I give unto you,
3 And will make an offering by fire unto the LORD, a burnt offering, or a sacrifice in performing a vow, or in a freewill offering, or in your solemn feasts, to make a sweet savour unto the LORD, of the herd, or of the flock:
4 Then shall he that offereth his offering unto the LORD bring a meat offering of a tenth deal of flour mingled with the fourth part of an hin of oil.
5 And the fourth part of an hin of wine for a drink offering shalt thou prepare with the burnt offering or sacrifice, for one lamb.
6 Or for a ram, thou shalt prepare for a meat offering two tenth deals of flour mingled with the third part of an hin of oil.
7 And for a drink offering thou shalt offer the third part of an hin of wine, for a sweet savour unto the LORD.
8 And when thou preparest a bullock for a burnt offering, or for a sacrifice in performing a vow, or peace offerings unto the LORD:
9 Then shall he bring with a bullock a meat offering of three tenth deals of flour mingled with half an hin of oil.
10 And thou shalt bring for a drink offering half an hin of wine, for an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the LORD.
11 Thus shall it be done for one bullock, or for one ram, or for a lamb , or a kid.
12 According to the number that ye shall prepare , so shall ye do to every one according to their number.

Numbers 29:12-16
12 And on the fifteenth day of the seventh month ye shall have an holy convocation; ye shall do no servile work, and ye shall keep a feast unto the LORD seven days:
13 And ye shall offer a burnt offering, a sacrifice made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the LORD; thirteen young bullocks, two rams, and fourteen lambs of the first year; they shall be without blemish:
14 And their meat offering shall be of flour mingled with oil, three tenth deals unto every bullock of the thirteen bullocks, two tenth deals to each ram of the two rams,
15 And a several tenth deal to each lamb of the fourteen lambs:
16 And one kid of the goats for a sin offering; beside the continual burnt offering, his meat offering, and his drink offering.

i believe when the messianic Jew outnumbers the JEW There will be many tabernacles and many feasts:)

A pastor was working late on a Saturday night at the Almighty God Tabernacle. Around 10:00 PM he decided to call his wife before he left for home.

Although the pastor let the phone ring several times, his wife didn't answer. A few moments later he tried again and she answered right away. He asked her why she hadn't answered before, and she said that the phone didn't ring.

The following Monday, the pastor received a call at the church office. The caller wanted to know why the pastor had called him Saturday night. The pastor was confused.

The caller said, "It rang and rang, but I didn't answer."

Then the pastor remembered the incident and apologized for disturbing him, explaining that he had intended to call his wife and must have dialed the wrong number.

The man said, "That's okay. Let me tell you my story. You see, I was planning to commit suicide that night, but before I did, I prayed, 'God if you're there, and you don't want me to do this, give me a sign now. At that point my phone started to ring. I looked at the Caller ID, and it said,

'Almighty God.' I was just too afraid to answer!"

is the short answer (though i am familiar with all the passages you plan to post) that the Spiritual meanings of the feast of tabernacles are about sin and our need for their remission which requires blood, which was shed by Jesus who came and tabernacled with man, and man now offers spiritual sacrifices of praise and thanksgiving.

thanks.

I think you might be mistaking the Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkot) for the Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur) here.

The first day of Tabernacles and the Last Great Day were high days, which were to be treated like Sabbaths. Therefore two additional lambs were to be offered as burnt offering after the morning service. Besides the regular daily offerings, additional animal sacrifices were offered every day.

okay. good day then Matt:)

That's rather interesting that you would say that. I didn't see anything of the sort when I was studying it. I saw nothing but the understanding of God's blessings. It is not about the temple. It's all about booths, huts, and so one. It's about a 40 year journey. It's all about living our salvation. after the sacrifice thru Christ that fulfilled the law.

Most understand the Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur) to be the day of the remission of sins.
On the Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkot), while there were sacrifices made, is understood by most to be a time of celebration of God dwelling with His people.

All of the Biblical Feasts had sacrifices, but the motives and focuses of each were different.

Two lambs were offered every day according to the directives told to Aaron. One in the morning, and one in the evening perpetually. It was the time Jesus was on the cross. With tabernacles there are 14 lambs offered every day for 7 days, besides the regular offerings.

Exodus 29:38

You are right. Even along with those offerings was/is a relevant spiritual meaning of the foliage used to build the booths. I have found that this feast would be very well to observe by every church world wide. Not in the physical, but with every spiral aspect that God wants His children to observe about His sustenance, grace, love, and mercy.

i was born a gentile in a wicked country. i wasn't taken out of Egypt into Canaan, but out of darkness into light, out of infamy into sonship! i had no inheritance, no birthright, no promise. but by the richness of His mercy all these things are set before me - every cause for gladness, enough undeserved cause for thanksgiving to burst my heart!

Therefore, behold, the days are coming, declares the LORD, when it shall no longer be said,
‘As the LORD lives who brought up the people of Israel out of the land of Egypt,’
but ‘As the LORD lives who brought up the people of Israel out of the north country and out of all the countries where he had driven them.’
For I will bring them back to their own land that I gave to their fathers.

Right. This feast is for today and a rehearsal to the final feast. It involves the understanding of Christ's ministry first, the church of Christ, and also the Old testament feast of unleavened bread, for the tabernacle is it exactly, to the day in comparison, 6 months later. The spring and fall harvests fall between the feast of unleavened bread and the feast of Tabernacles. 13 bullocks are offered on the first day, reduces by 1 count every day, for 7 days ending with 7. Every piece of foliage has spiritual meaning to the environment God desires for His own. It is a feast that brings all things together in Christ Jesus. It's absolutely beautiful.

Addressing the days, and the decline in the number of bullocks offered as each day passes during the “Feast of Tabernacles,” the decrease in number exemplifies the sequence of events of God’s divine plan, and finally being completed in Christ Jesus. This was surely a blessing to me, and I sincerely hope it will be to you also because the seventh day of the feast ends with seven bullocks on the twenty-first day of the seventh month. I have taken the opportunity of comparing the Hebrew pictorial alphabet with spiritual meanings of numbers, and quantities for their spiritual representation.

1[SUP]st[/SUP] day=15[SUP]th[/SUP] of the month Numbers 29:12-16 (KJV)
[SUP]12 [/SUP]And on the fifteenth day of the seventh month ye shall have an holy convocation; ye shall do no servile work, and ye shall keep a feast unto the LORD seven days:
[SUP]13 [/SUP]And ye shall offer a burnt offering, a sacrifice made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the LORD; thirteen young bullocks, two rams, and fourteen lambs of the first year; they shall be without blemish:
[SUP]14 [/SUP]And their meat offering shall be of flour mingled with oil, three tenth deals unto every bullock of the thirteen bullocks, two tenth deals to each ram of the two rams,
[SUP]15 [/SUP]And a several tenth deal to each lamb of the fourteen lambs:
[SUP]16 [/SUP]And one kid of the goats for a sin offering; beside the continual burnt offering, his meat offering, and his drink offering.

Along with these other offerings that are given during these seven days we will concentrate on the bullocks. I can address the lambs and rams, and their meanings later if desired for some to know, to understand their relevance, as they are also offered each day for seven days. So why thirteen bullocks, and what does thirteen represent? One can relate it to what Jesus carried in His body while on the cross of Calvary. We begin to look at this day and the following six days from three perspectives defined by Hebrew letters and numbers. Obviously the number 13 is prevalent, but we also should look into the meaning of the number 15 for this particular day of the month. Last, but not least, the first letter, and the number 1 is the first day of the “Feast of Tabernacles.”

The number 1 represents unity, and new beginnings.
The 1[SUP]st[/SUP] letter means strong powerful leader. Our holy Father in heaven planned these chronological events before they were instituted to mankind.
The number 13 represents “Apostasy, depravity, rebellion.
The 13[SUP]th[/SUP] letter means chaos, water, and blood that are mighty. The law entered because of transgression.
The number 15 represents rest.
The 15[SUP]th[/SUP] letter means grab, hate, and protect. The believer in Christ Jesus enters into His rest, ceasing from his own works, and is protected from those things God the Father detests, known as sins.

One of my favorite times of the year.
All the feasts are God giving us a picture of His plan for our salvation. As we celebrate them with food, family, worship, and fun, we gain understanding that God works closely with us in our life every day. If we could fully understand the spiritual meaning of every step, we would know God.

Think of the many years Passover was celebrated to celebrate Christ, yet before Christ came no one knew the real significance of the celebration. Now, we are celebrating that it has happened, but there are still depths to plum from it.

Now, we will be celebrating Feast of Tabernacles, and we can only try to fully understand what we are doing. We will be living in tents in remembrance of the people being freed from slavery who lived in tents for forty years until they came to the promised land. Just as we were supposed to listen and learn from the blood of the lamb that was slain at Passover, the blood to be put on the doorposts to protect the life of their babies, we are supposed to learn from Tabernacles.

These three fall feasts we will be acting out is acting out what our Lord has planned for us when He comes to harvest God's people. It is the ultimate of plays we have a major part in performing. Each year we do this, as we open ourselves to God and His plan, we can only gain deeper and deeper understanding of what the plot is.

2[SUP]nd[/SUP] day=16[SUP]th[/SUP] of the month: Numbers 29:17 (KJV)
[SUP]17 [/SUP]And on the second day ye shall offer twelve young bullocks, two rams, fourteen lambs of the first year without spot:
There are twelve tribes of Israel, twelve stones in the breastplate of the priest representing these tribes, and twelve disciples called to continue the ministry of Christ after His ascension. There are also twelve stones in the foundation of the New Jerusalem. There were laws given to Israel for them to be able to govern themselves. By these instructions they had freedom from influences of false religions of pagan doctrines, and by these instructions in righteousness, were able to prosper while living in peace and security.
The number 2 represents union, division, and witnessing
The 2[SUP]nd[/SUP]letter means a family, a house of shelter from the outside elements. This is a doorway given for us to be united with the family of God, evidenced by past events we are sheltered from this world’s values, represented by Egypt, and desire not to be united with self will.
The number 12 represents governmental perfection
The 12[SUP]th[/SUP] letter means to teach, yoke, and bind, continuing to be connected with the perfection in Christ Jesus, and bound to the divine plan by every Word that God has ever spoken, not by self-works, but by faith.
The number 16 represents love
The 16[SUP]th[/SUP] letter means to watch, know, and shade like the gourd shading Jonah 4:6. We are ministers of the love of God, and love for our neighbors and enemies. This kind of love sheds light on darkness by a discerning heart, wanting ourselves, and others to be separated from anything that might alienate us from the presence of God.
There are 16 names defining God’s character in scripture, and these are likened, and parallel to 1 Corinthians 13:4-8a

Charity suffereth long (1), and is kind;(2) charity envieth not;(3) charity vaunteth not itself, (4) is not puffed up, (5)Doth not behave itself unseemly,(6) seeketh not her own,(7) is not easily provoked,(8) thinketh no evil; (9)Rejoiceth not in iniquity,(10) but rejoiceth in the truth; (11)Beareth all things,(12) believeth all things,(13) hopeth all things,(14) endureth all things.(15) Charity never faileth” (16).

3[SUP]rd[/SUP] day=17[SUP]th[/SUP] of the month: Numbers 29:20 (KJV)
[SUP]20 [/SUP]And on the third day eleven bullocks, two rams, fourteen lambs of the first year without blemish;
It is clear that the progression of events, ordained by God from the beginning of time, is imperative for salvation. Peter, who was with Jesus, Elijah, and Moses on the Mount of Transfiguration wrote this in 2 Peter 1:20-21 “Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.” This day is clearly a representation of God’s mercy toward those who trust and believe in all His Words. It is also obvious that our heavenly Father reserves judgment for those that intentionally despise and reject His instructions. For the sake of comparing “spiritual with spiritual,” such as 1 Corinthians 2:13 says, I will quote Genesis 8:4 that reads “And the ark rested in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, upon the mountains of Ararat.” Fascinating, isn’t it?

The number 3 represents divine completeness and perfection.
The 3[SUP]rd[/SUP]letter means gather and walk. The plan from the beginning was manifested with the Israelites then, and completed in Christ now.
The number 11 represents disorder and judgment
The 11[SUP]th[/SUP] letter means bend, open, allow, and tame, as the human reciprocation to God’s perfect love, instructions, and directions. Our maturity and faith is increased when we allow God’s righteous judgment to destroy our carnal nature, and mold us into His divine nature.
The number 17 represents victory
The 17[SUP]th[/SUP] letter means God’s word that is given, and distributed by the persuasions of His breath, being the Holy Spirit. Knowing that this would be the last day that our Lord Jesus Christ was in the grave, it is certainly a blessing to know that He is united as One with the Father. We have victory in Jesus adhering to the Spiritual persuasions given in the law, and the prophets, and we enter into His rest, ceasing from our own works. (Hebrews 4:10)

4[SUP]th[/SUP] day=18[SUP]th[/SUP] of the month: Numbers 29:23
[SUP]23 [/SUP]And on the fourth day ten bullocks, two rams, and fourteen lambs of the first year without blemish:
The eighteenth day of the first month is when Christ rose from the dead, being the mediator of the New Testament. This also gives us a picture of Israel’s escape from its four hundred and thirty years of captivity in the Egyptian Empire, and also includes ourselves as escaping the slavery to sin, and escaping from the world’s values through Christ. We are still here on this earth, but we are not in the world’s kingdom of depravity. Galatians 3:19 gives a rhetorical question;Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.”
The number 4 represents creation, the world, and creative works, representing the lights created to rule the day and the night, and divide the light from darkness. (Genesis 1:18)

The 4[SUP]th[/SUP]letter means to move to the door, and enter in. God created a way for us to be acceptable in His sight through Jesus Christ. He gave us the gift of the faith so we could believe that blood sacrifice was the door of acceptance.
The number 10 represents testimony, the law, and our responsibilities” as defined in the instructions given by God to Israel, and for us to see their Spiritual significance.
The 10[SUP]th[/SUP] letter means to worship the giver, and work according to His will. There is good reason for the law that God gave. We worship Him by acknowledging that every word he has ever spoken has relevance for us unto this present day.
The number 18 represents bondage.
The 18[SUP]th[/SUP] letter represents a trail to follow, as a journey, to chase, and to hunt. We are born into sin, but through Christ, we have been given a road to follow, leaving it up to each individual whether or not they want to walk this road. Jesus says in Matthew 7:13-14; “Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.” Strait” means “obstacles” necessary for us to confront for the purpose of increasing our faith. They stand in front of the open door God has provided. Obstacles that cause “tough straits.”

This is just the very beginning and there is much more. It appears that this thread may not be going anywhere due to lack of interest, so I will be looking for feedback to know if there is enough interest to keep posting. I'm still learning the meaning of the different numbers in scriptures, and I do believe that every word in the scriptures has a meaning and a purpose (numbers, weights, measures, "patterns," and all.) That's why Jesus said that heaven and earth will pass away, but His word will not pass away. (Matt 24:35) And, "Man shall not live on bread alone but on every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. (Every jot and tittle.)

Ecclesiastes 7:11 Wisdom is good with an inheritance: and by it there is profit to them that see the sun.
Ecclesiastes 7:12 For wisdom is a defence, and money is a defence: but the excellency of knowledge is, that wisdom giveth life to them that have it.
Ecclesiastes 7:13 Consider the work of God: for who can make that straight, which he hath made crooked?

Things were crooked by the time John the Baptist came into the picture. The instruction that God gave to mankind for "wisdom," of greater things to come, and wisdom in all that had been set in place as our foundation that pointed to Christ, it was crooked. Even while Jesus walked among men, the majority of the Jews fully rejected Him, and stayed on the crooked path, even though the straight way was already established through the natural instructions that would come to light and give us spiritual understanding. As Paul wrote:

2 Corinthians 3:15 But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart.
2 Corinthians 3:16 Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away.

God can make that which is crooked straight, and the writers of the OT, understood this.

During the feast of Tabernacles, the people abode in booths for seven days. From what I understand, Christ is our covering, and tabernacles is about abiding in HIM, "for the branch cannot bear fruit unless it abides in the vine." Jesus being the first fruit, we can only bring fruit to perfection with Him by abiding in Him.

Psalms 5:8 Lead me, O LORD, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies; make thy way straight before my face.

Proverbs 4:26 Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established.
Proverbs 4:27 Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.

Thank you for sharing these lessons on the feast of tabernacles. Enjoying it very much, and learning more and more.

God bless

Wanted to add one more verse: (waited too long to edit, to add it.)

John 14:23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
