I believe in total depravity, though I do have disagreement with the one man who says "God hates all who do evil."

I know there are scriptures that says God hates liars, thieves, etc, etc, but those scriptures must also be reconciled to the ones that tell us, "God so loved the world, that he sent his only begotten son...." (John 3:16) and that "we love God, because he first loved us."

I sometimes think Calvinists paint the picture of a God gleefully and joyfully damning people to hell just for the fun of it. I don't think this is accurate. It says in Timothy and 2 Peter that God desires all men to be saved.

I think of the woman at the well caught in adultery, that Jesus delivered by saying, "let he without sin cast the first stone." Clearly the woman had done something evil and yet God shows her mercy and grace, not hate.

I always believe that God's greatest desire is for the sinner to turn from their wicked ways and repent. God desires mercy, judgement comes as a last resort.

Yeah, I was kinda thinking the same about what that guy said.

But no, we don't joyfully like to see sinners go to hell. You might be seeing that from hyper- Calvinists...they literally take it to the extremes. They don't believe in evangelism and prayer for the lost.

I thought you believed in free will brother, how then do you believe totally depravity?

Don't be fooled, we are as loving as any other true Christian. Just as there is cold hearted arminian Christians, there are cold hearted Calvinist Christians.

God may desire all men to be saved, but we know hell will not be empty. Just as God doesn't desire men to sin, but it happens. I believe it's all in God's plan. :)

Well that's how I see it in scripture.
