I think if you keep the two that Jesus said, you will find out you can't break any of the ten. Love the Lord with all your heart, mind, soul and strength and love your neighbor as yourself. With those two followed, the rest will automatically be followed. :)
Absolutely great post.

Christians are not required to keep the Sabbath, or the 10 commandments per se.
The 10 commandments are part of the old covenant,

Catholics changing the day of worship is a myth started by the false prophet E. White of the 7th day adventists I believe. The early church didn't keep the Sabbath. See Acts 20:7 and 1 Cor 16:1-2.
#1 If we should not keep the 10 commandment then should we kill, steal, lie , and lust, should we have other God's over the Lord, should we worship ingraven images? Of course not, your problem is not with the 9 but with the Sabbath.

As far as the Catholics not changing the Sabbath. They did and they admit it, it is no myth.

That is absurd, plain and simple. to suggest that we should keep all the ten but one is ridiculous.
Show me one place in the NT where the Sabbath is commanded to be kept by the church.

Show me one place in the N.T. were it says that we should no longer keep God's commandment.

Read Hebrews chapter 4... It says that the pple of God have a Sabbath rest and we must do it as God did.. the 7th day. Also, it says that we must LABOR DILIGENTLY to enter into that rest lest we fall after the same example of the israelites (the didnt make it to promise land because of their disobedience) ..if we dont keep the Sabbath (7th day), then we will miss out on the promise land (the kingdom of God).

Hebrews is talking about taking rest in the LORD Jesus Christ, and not about setting apart a day of the week. If you take refuge in the Lord you are always on the seventh day, and techinically you are keeping this law always. Paul says the rality of the jewish practices, including the sabbath, is found in Jesus Christ.

Remember Jesus said his Father is ALWAYS working and He too must ALWAYS be working...Sabbath isn't the seventh day of the week--it is the LORD.

I have nothing against people who make a special day holy, but if you are profane for six, it is pointless to try to make 1 holy. No teacher would pass getting 1/7 right...

I will go to the other posting on Sabbath...Truth2010 you rally thing Paul was aking them to labor dilligently to reach the seventh day of the week? Or are you referring to the sabbth rest that takes, as Hebrews writes, place when 'we rest from our works as God did from his' either now in the Lord or after our physical life is done or both???

God bless

Jesus said, Gods commandment for us is......what? Fill in the blank. To get circumcised? NO. To keep the Sabbath? NO. What is our new commandment Onwingsaseagles?

Show me one place in the N.T. were it says that we should no longer keep God's commandment.

I think I get what you mean though, as a child of God we show our love for Him by obeying Him. But that only thing that makes us righteous by obeying is believing that Christ died for our sin.

Actually my problem is with keeping the Law of Moses and the Old Covenant.
Read Hebrews, Galatians, Romans, it's quite clear we are under grace. But if you need the Law to keep yourself from sinning you need to ask yourself whether you truly are living under God's grace by faith. Because Christ is the end of the Law for righteousness.
Rom 6:14 For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under Law, but under grace.
Rom 6:15 What then? Shall we sin because we are not under Law, but under grace? Let it not be!

First of all, Catholics cannot change the Sabbath. Only God can do that.
Secondly, designating the day of worship to Sunday is not "changing the Sabbath". Early christians were already meeting and worshipping on a Sunday.

Paul told the early church not to let anyone judge them about keeping the sabbaths (the sabbaths passed away with the Law, including the Jubilee (one every 50 years), land (one every seven years), and weekly sabbath (every 7 days). The Sabbaths were never binding to Gentiles. It would be good if you took that advice as well.

Col 2:16 Therefore let no one judge you in food or in drink, or in respect of a feast, or of the new moon, or of the sabbaths.

I am not as knowledgeable in all verses and chapters as some people here but that is something i am working on. I look at the commandments as the foundation or groundwork if you will. I have read through this and have seen lots of comments and ideas about the sabbath day and some interpretations of it. I try to look at these topics like this. When we are called to heaven and stand in the presence of the lord and asked about our lives and one topic is if we kept to the commandments sent by the lord are we honestly going to respond with saying it was a matter of interpritation? If the lord only inteded for us to follow 9 then i would think he would have sent us 9 not 10.
I am suprised to not see more about coveting, not necessarily your neighbors wife, but perhaps posessions(cars, home, etc etc) This is a commandment i have to really focus on not breaking at times because it is so easy to do. I am guilty of it i have looked at a persons nice house and thought about how jealous i was or the fact that they had more money than i did and could afford nicer things, but after realizing that i was actually coveting another persons posessions i asked the lord for forgiveness and was reminded that these things do not matter because when we die it all stays here and all we take with us is ourselves.
I remember these words spoken and they echo loudly everyday..no man is without sin no not one. I hold strong to the lord but even in that strength i have in him i still have moments of weakness.

Amen! Finally someone that uses logic. Seriously.. I am baffled as to why pple think 9 still stand and 1 doesn't.. I don't get it.. But the Bible does speak of this...

"Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. 5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry." 2Tim 4:3-5

The Bible says they will NOT endure sound doctrine.. sound meaning easy to understand.. It is not hard to follow.. But because they have itching ears, they will find preachers and pastors to teach them what they want to hear.. Sad but true. I just pray that you study to show yourself approved to God so that He will reveal ALL truth to you and not just partial. May God bless

"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." 2 Timothy 2:15
