If you like stretches then just do them, but stay away from yoga completely.

No, there are two definitions...

av·a·tar
ˈavəˌtär/
noun
noun: avatar; plural noun: avatars

  • 1.
    Hinduism
a manifestation of a deity or released soul in bodily form on earth; an incarnate divine teacher.

    • an incarnation, embodiment, or manifestation of a person or idea.
"he chose John Stuart Mill as the avatar of the liberal view"

  • 2.
    Computing
an icon or figure representing a particular person in computer games, Internet forums, etc.

But with Yoga there is only one...

yo·ga
ˈyōgə/
noun
noun: yoga

  • a Hindu spiritual and ascetic discipline, a part of which, including breath control, simple meditation, and the adoption of specific bodily postures, is widely practiced for health and relaxation.

See, we opt for the 2nd definition on avatar, but with Yoga ...only one choice :)
: a system of exercises for attaining bodily or mental control and well-being

https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/yoga

Or you could opt for the 2nd definition.

If the yoga instructor tells you to worship another diety or make strange noises then leave. If the yoga center has idols and strange deities , then walk out before the class even starts.

Otherwise, people are over reacting.

Learning a few stretchs, to breath fully in and out and relax isn't a bad thing.

Some have said they would never go into a club and have a glass of wine because they are concerned with apperances.

I would go where ever God sent me because the lost aren't found in places we find comfortable.

Are you more concerned of how you look and keeping up appearance or doing God's will?

Even the Bible says to meditate on scriptures and putting your hands together or kneeling in front of an altar has a "yoga" name, but that doesn't make either action "pagan".

People throw the baby out with the bath water too often.

Altar aka "foot of the cross"

God had altars too in the old testament.

it's wrong if it's a stumbling block to you, it's wrong to do it 'in front' of your brother/sister if it causes them to stumble.

otherwise, it's just body positions, just like meat sacrificed to idols is just meat.

I have heard of missionaries being given poisoned food from witch doctors and NOT dying. Showing that God is more poweful than witch doctors.

The parallel is that stretching a certain way or moving your hands or body in a certain position doesn't not allow demons into your body.

It is your heart and mind that God can see.

If your heart is pure and worships God alone, nothing you eat or body position can take you from His hands.

I think it's wrong to make people afraid of yoga, because God did not give us a spirit to fear but of love, power and a sound mind.

Some of the eastern practices is a science and not a religion. Many people who don't understand science believe western medicine is magic and witchcraft. And some in the West believe eastern medicine to be ignorant, or superstious. However, both could and are learning from one another. Eastern medicine tends to be more holistic and preventative than western.

I agree with your first statement, but it has nothing to do with yoga. Yoga is fundamentally part of Hindu worship, and is a practice intended to glorify and open one's self to demonic entities. What fellowship have we with demons?

If you want to stretch, then stretch. No need to learn or practice yoga; that's just foolish, and playing with fire. It's not a matter of fear; it's a matter of choosing to avoid things which are harmful. Just as I don't watch horror movies, use drugs, or consume lots of alcohol, I don't practice yoga. It's wisdom, not fear.

if the Hindu people are so evil what exactly makes them so evil? Jesus, who many Hindus hold in high regard and believe to be a great prophet sent from the Most High, teaches we will know false teachers by their fruit. the Hindu culture seems to be full of peace, compassion, humility and they dont conquer and destroy other nations. that doesnt sound like bad fruit.
