I'm just wondering. Even though even though I'm not Catholic myself, I did used to a friend that's Catholic. I'm just worried that she might not be saved because she probably went though mary to be and not Jesus or God.

But yeah, I'm curious if in general are Catholics gonna be going to heaven or not?

I believe as long as they trust Christ as their savior, yes. But no one can say whether anyone is going to heaven or not.

Actually, only Mormons are going to be in heaven. All the other denominations will either go to hell or limbo.

That is not true. Mormons are against the Bible.

Okay, in all seriousness though, this is such an awful question to ask, and shows a lot of bigotry or at least extreme ignorance. God does not judge us by what church we're affiliated with but by our hearts.

hey, I never said I have anything against Catholics. Besides, the girl was the one decided to stop talking to me. Then she dropped me as one of her friends on facebook... Haven't talked to her since...

Why would you ask a human who is going to heaven or not? We don't have the authority to decide that or even answer that question. The Bible is very clear on what kind of people will go to heaven. It doesn't mention catholics, or baptists, or pentecostals, or non-denominationals, or episcopalians, or any other church. It talks about people who love God with all their heart and soul, who love others as themselves, and who believe Jesus is their savior. Ask yourself, can a Catholic do that? Yes, they can. Are some of their practices wrong, or rather, should I say controversial? Yes, but that doesn't mean they aren't saved. Catholics are just like everyone else. There is NO difference between the soul of a Catholic person and the soul of another denomination. God loves them both and gives them both the same chance at salvation. We are being SO judgemental when we single Catholics out, or any other denomination. When we start saying which church will and will not go to heaven, we are trying to do God's job for Him, and none of us have that kind of authority. Only God Himself can decide.

It all depends on their hearts. Joe-Jehovah Witness could be going to Heaven because he finds the Truth in his studies, and Bob-Baptist may not because he's not as devoted.

God is non-denominational, non religional. Salvation is a matter of your personal walk with Christ. People who lived before Christ are saved. There will be a great many of all nations, of all tongues, of all faiths that will be saved.

We must look at this from a non-Biblical view. Is Christ within ? I mean, does the individual choose as though Christ ? Convicted by The Holy Spirit and then is repentant to the Highest on High? Christ, Holy Spirit are words for convienient to mankind, but the Words of heaven we can not even speak.

The words from on high are etched on our hearts and by this way our names are written in the Lambs book of life.

More than just Catholics will be saved by Christ' intervention. Their will be Hindu, Muslim, Jew, Buddhists, etc... He will see your heart, did you choose to let him in? You do not have to know his name because he knows yours and sees if your choice.

I'm not trying to judge them. I'm actually hoping they are saved. I'm just curious what other people think.

How is one saved? < ----- maybe this is an easier question to ask.

Besides, lots of folks add and drop me from their Facebook friend list. I don't hold it against their eternal salvation :p
I would make a horrible god, so they're lucky.

The ones who trust in good works or anything except Jesus AND anything else are going to hell.

See what Jesus said in the Word He made it simple. It doesn't say whoever believes in me AND good works or mother church or Mary or the pope can enter heaven.

Seducing spirits like to make you rely on them and not God.

So... you go to hell unless you trust Jesus and anything else? Doesn't matter what the second thing is?

Okay. I guess I'll trust Jesus and Bon Jovi! :)

I think that Catholics can be Christians. Jesus said, nobody comes to the Father except through him. As for works, alot of people struggle with keeping theirheds straight about that. I think that God is more gracious than we imagine. There are many whose faith is weak, who try to find assurance through the rituals of faith, who God will accept. There are also many who are rank hypocrites, found in many churches (denominational and otherwise) and even in their house churches to whom Jesus will say "I never knew you." Those of the cults and other religions are more of a problem. There may be a few whom God has revealed himself to, but who in innocence do not realize yet the distinctives of Christianity. I am not a universalist. At some level, their faith must be place in Christ,

No, Jesus made it clear but How can you trust someone you don't know? How can you believe in something you don't know? Jesus is the Word and If you have a surface relationship it won't do you any good.

Very nice ? sorry you've been lied to about Catholics, I know I use to tell Catholics that they need God and Jesus, in love of course. Then God told me to be Catholic and now I know how dumb all this is to judge others when we don't know. Catholics love GOD, Christ and the Holy Spirit as much if not more than most of you. They believe when someone dies and goes to Heaven that its ok to ask them to pray for them since they are there next to God, nobody asks Mary for salvation.

While I believe it would be rare, God revealed himself to Abraham, to Moses, and to the wise men. None of them started with a well formed theology and two of the three ended without one....

dude the Bible says there is a time to laugh and a time to cry, salvation is a serious subject, So serious that Christ Gave His Life For it, so your twisted sense of humor or lack of it is very offensive, salvation is not a joking matter.

I agree but if you really are saved and genuinely have a relationship with Jesus you won't cut Him off and say a little dab will do ya. One of the biggest truths in Christianity is also one of the biggest lies. Believe on Jesus and your good to go. And no, you don't need to know fancy scripture or even necessarily read the Bible, but If you can read and have one you will read it and get to know Jesus if you want to get to know Him. I can't imagine anyone not desireing to seek God and His Word who doesn't seek God and His Word. People who put all there trust in Jesus Put effort into it and not a lukewarm attitude.

I think God is more gracious then us: Behold my servant, whom I uphold; my chosen one in whom My soul delights. I have put My Spirit upon Him; He will bring forth justice to the nations. He will not cry out or raise His voice nor make His voice heard on the street. A bruised reed He will not break and a dimly burning wick He will not extinguish; He will faithfully bring forth justice, He will not be disheartened or crushed until He has established justice in the earth; and the coastlands will wait expectantly for His law. Isaiah 42:1-4
