Thanks. My point was that if Jesus had went to hell and preached to the people there, wouldn't that mean that there is a hell, since this person apparently doesn't believe in such a place.
There are four synonymous words for "Hell" in the bible. The translators substituted "hell" for all four of them
1, Gehenna: a garbage dump outside Jerusalem, where fires continually burned refuse.
2. Sheol: The grave
3. Hades: A hidden place
4. Tartarus: An subterranean place where the "heroes" that Homer wrote about

None of these things on their own suggest "Hell" - but combined, you get a subterranean place, unseen by anyone, burning with fire non stop. This is what the translators suggested, it is not true. Anyplace in the Bible that you find the word "hell" , you are actually seeing one of these other words.
The word itself "Hell" is of old anglo -saxon origin. Hell or Helle, which the original meaning of is "Hidden place",
Though it is time consuming, one , using a concordance , can find each and every one of these instances where the word "Hell" is used, to mean something else.
I myself, took the time to look up each and everyone of them. I will warn you in advance, this will take you quite a bit of time, but I do not want anyone to take what I say as truth, prove it wrong, and it will take you longer than you want it to, but I want you to spend the time to do it, for if you do not, you may always question it.

I did the same study ob77,

It was worth every minute spent, for it freed me from the error of tradition.

The wages of sin is DEATH
but gift of God is eternal life
through Jesus Christ our Lord'

PRAISE GOD

I'm so very sorry that you've never met a Christian who didn't condemn you or put you down. Truly I am. I wouldn't do that. A true follower of Christ would love you as you are. Jesus loves you as you are.

BenFTW got it right. It's the love of and for Jesus Christ that allows you to go to heaven. Simple, right?

And that heaven can be right here on earth, you don't even have to wait until you die. Living in Christ means living in peace and love and not allowing the ways of the world to dictate your mood, your attitude or your state of happiness.

God is righteous. He gave us the gift of life. He won't take it away, no matter how bad we are. If we decide we don't want to know Him, if we decide we want to live a life after things that are not of God- Darkness. He is a righteous judge. He will give you what you desire. You want sin? you want darkness? you shall have it.

Hey dead to sin that sign looks like one I seen in Colorado. I was riding around springs pikes peak. Kinda pleasantly lost when I saw that sign and was reminded I am never lost

We do have to die the sooner the better that's the hardest part people don't want to die especially when they can just believe the original lie we will be like god our own god.
