Revelation 21:6) He said to me: It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To him who is thirsty I will give to drink without cost from the spring of the water of life.

I find this statement to be quite interesting.................(so much for "works salvation" :) )

(yeah, I know, but hey, a little stick%20with%20poke.gif every now and again ain't all bad)

Revelation 21: 5And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.” 6And he said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will give from the spring of the water of life without payment. 7The one who conquers will have this heritage, and I will be his God and he will be my son. 8But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.”

oh but the cup you use to drink costs money and effort to lift to your lips and you have to take steps to 'come' and and blah blah blah.

Speaking of cost, I am reading "The Cost of Discipleship" by Dietrich Bonhoeffer, German Christian pastor and martyr during WWII.

He speaks a lot of the difference between costly grace and cheap grace. Grace is always totally free. But if it is cheap, it is probably not real.

Really having grace means it costs us everything.

I'm going to do a whole post on this, just thought to add a few short lines about this on this thread.

Mark 10:28) Then Peter began to say unto him, Lo, we have left all, and have followed thee. 29 .) And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel's, 30 .) But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.
31 .) But many that are first shall be last; and the last first.

Might keep this in mind when you write your commentary! :)

God bless

I find Bonhoeffer very moving.

I'm still not sure exactly where he was, doctrinally.

One has to cut him some slack, he grew up in the midst of German higher criticism and pietism.

Can anyone say free water I mean the question is deep. Have you ever bought bottled water? Many ministries sell bottled water and yes the water is absolutely free. Many ministries make a profit selling water that is actually free. Many buy the free water. That is why people are hurting and questioning ministry because some wise guy wanted to get rich selling free water. This water is WITHOUT COST. Just a thought
