I have done some work on body and Spirit.
The Christians spoke about TQO main Components making a SOUL.
It is not consistent BUT consistent enough...
Jesus flat out said:" the Flesh profits nothing."
Something is not happening...
GOD and Christ will have to work outside of Church...
Church is not working..

So God's plan of salvation in Jesus Christ for all men who believe in Jesus of Nazareth; i.e.,
the church, is not working?
Is God's arm too short to effect his plan, and so it has stopped working?
You should check the Biblical record regarding God's effectiveness.
"He does as he pleases with the powers of heaven and the people of the earth." (Da 4:35)
Ps 115:3, 135:6; Ac 2:23, 4:28; Eph 1:11; Dt 28:63; Isa 46:10-11, 37:26; Job 9:12; Rev 4:11.
Your human notion makes God too small.

He brought attention to himself...
The Apostles WORK was to teach widely.
Many do not pay attention to Spiritual understanding
But it needed to avoid confusion.
E.G. The Temple is the anointed Christian.
No more Temple is needed...

I'm sorry i did not read what you were saying fully. I was assuming you meant church as it is today is not working.
I try my best to live the lifestyle of Christianity by studying, praying, and meditating on His word not just in church but at home daily. My church, and the many egos in it, does not work for me as I always have to be more geared up for it than the world. I have heard many say the same about their place of worship. But I continue to go, as the Word is the Word and my focus is not on the people but on my Savior.
I am searching for another church home, one that is Christ focused and not one that feels they are entitled. Fellowship and correction however is important to the Body of Christ so I will continue at this one until God sees fit to place me in another. Who knows! Maybe He will transform the mind and hearts of my fellow members thus creating a "new" church home. Maybe it is even my own personal angst that disturbs my spirit. idk. I do pray that God searches my heart daily to fix whatever is not of Him. I pray the same for you.

Christians are not trying...
Christians are a NEW Creation.
They are made such by Christ, the HAND of GOD.
Natural people trying to be Spiritual people,
could suffer mental problems.
Please take your case to GOD and Christ.
If you ask for help to be the right child and none is given
how is Jesus going to Judge you.
Jesus is the Hand of GOD who makes the NEW people...

Spiritual understanding is of matters of the Holy Spirit,
it does not mean figuratively.
And it is given by the Holy Spirit to those who savingly believe/trust in Jesus Christ
as their personal Savior from God's wrath (Ro 5:9) on their sin at the final judgment.
