JOY: Jesus - Others - Yourself. is about putting Jesus first, others second and yourself last. But in today society. With many People it's the other way round. YOJ!. Sadly thats with Christians too. Many are on drugs, or even become alcholoics. Why? because they have deserted there love for God for Drink or drugs. They have become self centered all around themselves. So J.O.Y have been reveresd in there lives.
In Philippians 2:2 says: "Complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind." how can that happen when Drugs and alchohol has be come the center of life?
Ephesians 4:25 "Therefore, having put away falsehood, let each one of you speak the truth with his neighbor, for we are members one of another." So are we not to care? Just because someone has decided to live life self centered, and reveresed J.O.Y in there lives. What we are menat to stop there? No! we carry on regardless, and we carry on preaching the truth. because one day, they will listen, you will breakthrough that wall of self centered life. and they will want to hear more.
Proverbs 15:1 "A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger." I love that verse, because God is telling us to go out and stir one's life, in order for the person to realise that what he or she is doing is wrong, and stir enough anger in them to able them to look in the mirror and see it for themselves.
So let's Put Jesus first, by praying, and asking for his wisdom to speak to the unsaved, and even the saved that has backslidden. Put others second. Help them, show the same compassion as Jesus did, when speaking to people. and then put yourself last. You heard that saying he who laugh's first laugh last? Well be the last to laugh, but laugh with J.O.Y, because you have just helped someone from going to hell.
Remember: JOY. Jesus - Others - Yourself. Don't be YOJ.
James 1:22-27 " But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks intently at his natural face in a mirror. For he looks at himself and goes away and at once forgets what he was like. But the one who looks into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and perseveres, being no hearer who forgets but a doer who acts, he will be blessed in his doing. If anyone thinks he is religious and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his heart, this person's religion is worthless. "
