[h=3]Romans 7:14-25[/h]New International Version (NIV)

[SUP]14 [/SUP]We know that the law is spiritual; but I am unspiritual, sold as a slave to sin. [SUP]15 [/SUP]I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do. [SUP]16 [/SUP]And if I do what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good. [SUP]17 [/SUP]As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me. [SUP]18 [/SUP]For I know that good itself does not dwell in me, that is, in my sinful nature.[SUP][a][/SUP] For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. [SUP]19 [/SUP]For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do—this I keep on doing. [SUP]20 [/SUP]Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.
[SUP]21 [/SUP]So I find this law at work: Although I want to do good, evil is right there with me. [SUP]22 [/SUP]For in my inner being I delight in God’s law; [SUP]23 [/SUP]but I see another law at work in me, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within me. [SUP]24 [/SUP]What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body that is subject to death? [SUP]25 [/SUP]Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord!
So then, I myself in my mind am a slave to God’s law, but in my sinful nature[SUP][b][/SUP] a slave to the law of sin.

Do you struggle NOT to sin ? Even great men of God had struggles. The flesh wars against the spirit.
WE must stay close to the Lord Jesus Christ and stay faithful to Gods Word. He will make a way out of
Sin and bring us back .... Remember the Prodigal ?

The temptation is their almost constantly and Satan is the great deceiver and most of the time we do sin it is knee jerk reaction without praying.

Can you just imagine the pressure and temptation that the Apostle Paul was under. I meant he wanted to stay for the sake of the church but he wanted to go for his own sake.

That's your opinion. So everyone?

But whosoever is born of the Spirit and the Word can not sin for they are born of God, neither can they sin for are not subject to the law of sin and death. For such are born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. Gal 5:18

Real question to know hoe much passionate we are towards God is to check How much we Overcame since we came to Christ?...
If we just imagine several tempting occasions since our childhood to our very age now and check...
how many of them we hate to do?
how many of them we slowly overcoming?
how many still to be fully overcome?

If none to overcome or already overcame everything that person is lying because Perfected one's God calls..

you have courage...
The whole point is realizing that single fact..
So we have no option in ourselves to look at and change or get out of this sinful nature, but by Jesus we can..
So when we need His Grace,we need to be Compassionate to others too because we are all in flesh..

So you're right, everyone sins one way or the other,...
But we shouldn't stop there but try to Overcome by the Power of God.
Still when we Realize that there is sinful nature in us,we Realize we should not boast on our accomplishments but boast in Grace of God that made us come this far.

yes.everyone sins..Good point. Not an excuse but a harsh reality that keeps us continue in the struggle to become overcomers.

If a man as great as Paul had to battle with his flesh, who am I to think
I am greater. I can't boast I have not sinned since I received Christ in
1969. I have shared many times it took a few short years for the Lord
to work with me, to show me the sins in my life. He received me as I was.
He was patient, loving, and merciful.

We move on through years and as deeply as I loved Him, I discovered
it was possible to turn away in my walk as a Christian. I never denied
Jesus, but I sinned against Him again. In my case, the thing I did not
want to do, I did.

Now, this is where the prodigal comes in. It was like I had come to a
fork in the road. I took the wrong turn, and Jesus let me go my way,
then one day I found myself on my face weeping again in repentance.
It took some time to forgive myself. Jesus forgave me, I was the very
essence of what the prodigal looked like. I thank the Lord for His
mercy and grace. For His Blood that covered my sins.

I would say to anyone being tempted to slip back into an old habit,
don't do it. Find someone to talk to and tell them exactly what you are
feeling. The enemy is subtle, and it is pride when we think we won't
ever sin against our Savior. I was that PROUD CHRISTIAN..... and
the saying .... the bigger they are the harder they fall........ I say the
more proud you are, the more likely you will be tempted .... Don't do it.

It is not difficult to sin. I will not abuse Gods Grace. I know there is
teaching that we can sin and always be covered by His Grace. That
to me is erroneous. I believe, we will be forgiven by His Grace... but
not over and over. At some point in time we would be turned over to
a reprobate mind if we refuse to remain obedient in the manner we
know we should be faithful to the One who gave His life for us. ~~~

Blessed Savior, help those who at this very moment
struggling with temptation. Help them to hold tight to You Jesus and
never let go of Your hand. We do thank You for the Mighty Cross and
Shed Blood at Calvary. Thank You Father for taking back those of us
who were deceived at one time or another. Thank You for forgiving us,
and showing what a Prodigal Son is all about. Blessed be Your Name
O Lord God Almighty. ~ Amen ~

good words j kay. there is a difference in making a mistake vs. deliberate willful sin. talking with someone conversation gets heated, say something you should not say-mistake. going out getting drunk having sex outside marriage-deliberate sin.

Who said I "lived victoriously without sinning after becoming saved"?
You want to bring me down because you have failed? I said sin is a choice.
How does one avoid it? My first advice would be to get in the bible and off the computer. The bible has all answers in it, and if one has to ask, one didn't read it.
You didn't say "I don't understand", you said "I don't know", which means you haven't read it. Here is a couple of easy steps to avoid sin, and there are many in the bible. I would encourage you to "study to show yourself approved unto God".......
When tempted, make use of the advantages God has set for you.
1 Thessalonians 5:17 "Pray without ceasing."
Hebrews 4:14-16 "Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need."

That is a start. When tempted, run. Mimic Joseph when tempted.
Genesis 39:12 "And she caught him by his garment, saying, Lie with me: and he left his garment in her hand, and fled, and got him out."

Leave your coat and whatever else you have to, to escape the grasp of temptation.

since I got baptized on the first I've felt different. I hear my body say it wants to sin like an echo. Like a voice far away down a canyon. I have such a relish for the Lord that nothing carnal is holding appeal. It's weird to say the least :) AMAZING is a better word ;) No desire to sin? MAN! that's a whole new creature :D (not to say that I'm sinless, why would I being man call God a liar.) On a much more direct exclamation "GREAT IS OUR LORD! GREAT IS OUR DELIVERER!"

It's interesting.

How could I ever claim to be sinless? wasn't I bought while in sin? Who am I to boast of what God has done?

The blood has washed all of my sins, therefore now, stand I cleansed of sin. Sinless before God.

How can I boast of that? it is through Jesus Christ alone.

If then, I stand here before you now washed sinless by the blood of the Lamb and He continues to do a work in me, dwelling in me and loving me. How then can any of you doubt His perfect work in me?

I remember those days... God bless you ......The testimony of a New Creation
in Christ is so refreshing. It make my heart leap with joy for you. Hold on to
Him tightly because it is not always a smooth path to walk. As a matter of fact
you could likely be more tempted now than ever. But, You remind that tempter,
you are a Child of God .... and you call upon the name of Jesus and ask Jesus
to tell that tempter to go in the name of Jesus .... When you are ever finding
yourself in a position to argue or if someone does not think your conversion
is real.... You excuse yourself from that situation and walk the walk He has
prepared for you. Also don't forge to read your Bible. Starting in the book of
John..... God bless you for the enthusiastic post. ~ J~ K~2

Thanks I've read it :) I have recently started back at Genesis, going through it in it's entirety. Reading the bible is the last thing I do every night before going to sleep, it's my favorite time of the day. Thanks sister! :)

It's just weird. I've had a strong relationship with Jesus for the larger portion of my life. It amazes me how much has changed inside of me after that baptism.

Oh that explains it. You have put off the old man and put on the NEW.
You are so blessed to feel that change. You know you really are saved
when your relationship with the Lord is intimate and you hunger for more.
Bless you in your walk and keep on praising and worshiping Him... ~ J~K~2
