Cef I love you and thank you for your honesty. But let us make it God's Truth then you will be a truth believer...
No man has EVER asked God (Jesus) into his heart. NOT EVER! God does the invite, and God is the one that choose. No man has EVER chosen Jesus to be in his heart, Jesus chose the man to be the one HE will move into...

If man could ask Jesus into his heart, God would not do the election. But God elect because no MAN HEART wants rightouesness, without God putting the hunger and thirst of righteousness in the man's heart. Even the heart that longs for rigteousness is a gift from above. Even repentance is a gift from above.

It is a good thing if a man wants Jesus in his heart is it not? Well ALL GOOD things and gifts are from above. So even the man asking Jesus to be His Lord, is a gift from God. Look here young lady... This is beautiful and it makes God so faithful... Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

And the WISDOM to repent and have Jesus lead you to salvation.... But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

God listens and responds to all prayers directed to God, from the oppressed, regardless of religion.

The LORD also will be a stronghold for the oppressed, A stronghold in times of trouble

Drett that is why God is so wonderful, HE CALLS A opressed SINNER in deep trouble to REPENT and come tot he light, to be righteous so he can ASK ANYTHING and God will be HIS stronghold and GIVE HIM ALL HE ASK! And when a righteous is opressed by the persecution and in trouble for the Lord's Name sake GOD WILL HEAR HIS PRAYERS AS HE ALWAYS DOES FOR THE RIGHTEOUS....

But as sinner and opressed in trouble. God is HIS WAY out of opression and trouble, to be RIGHTEOUS and then powerful in prayer.... AFTER salvation.

Look what the Lord says about a STRONG TOWER AND WHO RUNS INTO IT.... The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.
Just as a sinner cannot run into this strong tower the same way he cannot get God to listen.... Sinners need to listen to God, before God listens to them as righteous men....

Same with the narrow gate.... NO SINNER can enter. Only the pure can enter. And THEN they are made righteous. We have to know God called us all when we were in trouble and opressed as sinners. WE are not the only glorified by our alvation GOD IS.... It is HIS GLORY that saves us to righteousness, and it is HIS GLORY that the prayers of the righteous are ALL answered. There is NO GLORY in sin, NONE!

1 Peter 3:12 says it so beautifully... For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.
And wht about the prayer of one that doubts or one that lack in FAITH....?.. James 1:5 to 8... If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
Jas 1:6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. Jas 1:7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. Jas 1:8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

I know that when you ask Jesus Christ into your life He hears your prayers but does He hear any prayers made before that point and time. For example I have a friend that is not willing to give her life to Christ but prays to Him all the time are her prayers heard?
God just want us to acknowledge who He is..

An unbeliever praying? Doesn't fit. The will of God is that you honour the Son, if you don't recognise Jesus you may as well fashion an idol.
21 Jesus asked the boy’s father, “How long has he been like this?”

“From childhood,” he answered. 22 “It has often thrown him into fire or water to kill him. But if you can do anything, take pity on us and help us.”

23 “‘If you can’?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for one who believes.”

24 Immediately the boy’s father exclaimed, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!”

I believe He doesn't.

John 14:6 - "No one man cometh unto the Father, but by me."

If Jesus doesn't dwell in your heart, your prayers are not heard. The only time a non-believer's prayer will be heard is when they are asking to be saved.
In my learning, that is not a correct interpretation of that passage. One has to believe in Jesus and ask Him for forgiveness of sins, in order to get to heaven, and become a Christian. That passage has nothing to do with God hearing prayers of non believers or Christians. My 2 cents.

Jesus said:

If you have faith like the grain of a mustard seed
(faith is hearing and doing and obeying the Bible)
then he hears you
mountains move

and one single Bible text in all the Bible is like a grain of mustard seed...
the TINIEST of verses

if you believ one of them

God will hear you

and the one that comes to mind is this one...

Pray always

so anyone at all who PRAYS ALWAYS will be heard

You Know CEF, This is one of the reasons I don't ask many people here, as you will of noticed everyone has there own oppinons and beliefs. A few has provided scripture to back there claim, But most hasnt. God listen's to all prayers. But its down to his will, if he answers them. He listens to non believers, as they are just as sinners as we Christians are. the only difference is we have Christ in our life.

Jesus went to the cross to die for the sinners of the world. and he said in: Matthew 21:22 "And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith." If your friend has faith."

No mention whether you have to be saved or non saved in that scripture. But again Its down to God's will. If your friend decides to believe, and invites Christ in his/her heart. Then God will bless even more. Again if your friend has faith.

Were you not once a non believer? and did you pray for forgiveness?
I guess that would depend on how one defines an unbeliever. When I first read the OP, the thing that first came to mind was someone who simply did not believe in God or the existence of God, i.e. an atheist. That person would have no reason nor inclination to pray. This was what prompted my response. If by unbeliever, one means a person who acknowledges God but has not yet become a christian, I think this is another thing entirely.

Any one that prays to Him must believe or else they wouldn't pray. Just like the guy said Lord I believe, but help mine unbelief. How can one possibly pray to a God that they do not believe in. It's like ordering a triple cheeseburger with an extra large fry and an apple pie and diet coke. It makes no sense.

If God knows all of our hearts, God must be a part of all of us.

If, in our hearts, we see God as something very different than God is, so we address something like Allah, I don't think God would read our hearts as speaking to Him.

Scripture says to address our prayers to the Father, and that Christ and the Father are one. It makes me wonder about the people who say that when the Father spoke to Moses, God was only speaking to the Israelites and they aren't one of those. I wonder if they have identified Christ and the Father correctly enough to communicate with Him.

I think to pray with signs following, we need to address our prayers correctly, and stay within the kingdom of God.

I believe God hears and answers all prayers. However, sometimes people don't like or recognize the answer, because His answer is "NO, that is not My Will"

For example someone may pray to be wealthy and be rich.

God hears that prayer and sees their greed. He may instead of giving them that candy, give them a lesson about what is really important in life by taking away what they have and showing them what true poverty is.

Sometimes God's lessons are not evident to nonbelievers, but eventually when we fall on our knees and repent, God opens our hearts and eyes to see how He has been teaching us all along the wisdom of following His will.

He teaches us not to be greedy, to love others and put their needs before our own, to forgive those who hurt us even if they are unrepentant because God forgave us and loved us enough to reach out and touch our lives and hearts. He shows us what true love is and explains how Jesus died on the cross for the remission of our sins.

God hears and answers all prayers, but most people forget to pray for the wisdom to understand His answers.

Funny thread!!!

Big mistake 2thewaters... HUGE mistake.... Believers are people in Truth. believers are people that know God and has etermal life. There are way more than them THAT GOD DOES NOT EVEN KNOW, that pray in his Name and do miricles in His name and yet HE NEVER KNEW THEM.... WOW! How do I know this? I was ONE OF THEM, and maybe even still are one of them. May God save me to be one of His....

Look at this...Mat 7... Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Mat 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
Mat 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Maybe we should define believers a bit more so we all have the same understnading of believers... Believers are SAVED people. Their FAITH and grace from God SAVED them.... They are the seed that fell on the good soil and grew to maturity and now are bearing fruit, 30 60 and 100 fold... And they bear ONLY GOOD FRUIT. There is NO sin in the believers God saved, they do NOT WORK iniquity and they ONLY do the will of God. These people that say Lord Lord but still go to hell also prayed in HIS NAME, but they NEVER was heart, becasue He NEVER knew them. Who did the miricles.... They themselves with the power God gave them and they mislead MANY people that do NOT KNOW GOD.... But even their miricless CANNOT decieve the believers (Elect people of God).

Mat 24:24... For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

I will NEVER be decieved by false prohets and false Christs, why? I know the Truth. And I am sharing it with you today. Fortunately most false believers also do not get anything done with prayer. That way it is easy to see the people that have a form of Godliness but denied the pwoer thereof... Are you onw of these 2thewaters? Do you claim to be from God (child of God) but you have no power of a child of God? I ask because I am NOT a child of God, but I have a hope to be one. I am NOT HOLY....But then I have no form of godliness either, I am sinner. And like all sinners I need SALVATION .... Amen.

Look here.,... For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
2Ti 3:3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
2Ti 3:4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
2Ti 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

Let's look at what scripture says is a barrier between us and God. Sin is a barrier. God cannot live with sin. So you need to go to Christ for forgiveness, and you need to offer forgiveness to those in your life who have harmed you. When you forgive others, you open the way for God to forgive you.

Many of us hold the hurts we had as a child close to our heart. These need to be released. Many of us hold fear in our hearts, we need to release them to trust in God. Often we reach God simply by addressing our barriers.

If we don't accept that God heard our petition the first time and is responding, it is a barrier. We need not repeat it. If we hold a parent as an enemy, it is a barrier, we need to know God chose them to create us, and forgive them their sins. If we don't accept that God made us so we are not inferior, it is a barrier. If we no not accept that God forgives us of all our sins, and we are made new when we go to Him, it is a barrier. When we do not give over all evil done to us to God to take care of, and think we can do it ourselves, it is a barrier.

So communicating with God is more a matter of addressing barriers to God that the positive of speaking to Him. We need to listen.
