"Would you be satisfied, to go to heaven, have everybody there in your family that you want there, have all health and restoration of your prime and everything you disliked about yourself fixed, have every recreation you've ever dreamed available to you, and have infinite resources and money to spend, would you be satisfied....if God weren't there?" - John Piper

Haha, this John Piper has no idea when we get to heaven does he? He has no idea what true riches are has he? Shame! Let me share the true riches and when we recieve this richness.... When do we ENTER in to the kingdom and how important is it to DIE TO SELF and gain Christ....

How can I love myself if I sin? There is no love in sin and no sin in love. So my hope is to have peace, so I can love myself and then I can love my family, neighbour and God as God wants us to love.... And there is only ONE richness that can achieve this..... But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.

IN GOD ON THIS WORLD.... WOW! Then I am ALREADY in heaven and I have TOTAL PEACE.... Look how strong this peace is, one John Piper cannot understand.... And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
See my heart and mind is KEPT through Christ... that means I am RESTING in Christ.... WOW! The Sabbath rest in Christ. Now hwo would want anything then? But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

Now that is where I want to be IN GOD.... And I will miss no person there. Even if I am the only one in the family there and the poorest of all there, AS LONG AS I AM IN GOD I WILL WANT NOTING....

I'm confused. If God weren't there, it wouldn't be Heaven. Also, our final habitation will be the New Heaven and New Earth.

No... There are attractive people who have family, health, money, and access to whatever they want, but they aren't happy or content. In fact, there have been celebrities who despite having it all, have committed suicide. There is an emptiness that can only be filled by our partaking of the Tree of Life, nothing else can satisfy or fill that void. The one thing missing in Piper's description of heaven is "Love". I'd be happier having all those things he described, but not satisfied.

Most folks are about as happy as they make up their minds to be. ~Abraham Lincoln

Happiness? That's nothing more than health and a poor memory. ~Albert Schweitzer

As people spin faster and faster in the pursuit of personal happiness, they become exhausted in the futile effort of chasing themselves.

The happiness of most people is not ruined by great catastrophes or fatal errors, but by the repetition of slowly destructive little things.

Unhappiness is not knowing what we want and killing ourselves to get it.

Three grand essentials to happiness in this life are something to do, something to love, and something to hope for.

You need to learn to be happy by nature, because you'll seldom have the chance to be happy by circumstance.

That would be beyond disappointing. Don't even want to think about it.

I was with you until you mentioned money - and if God's not there what's the point?

Interesting, but heaven is not about what we want it to be, but what God decided it will be.
My hope though is... seeing Jesus's face, to have God wipe away every tear as spoken to in revelation.
This is the desire of my heart since my earlyest thoughts, to see His face, this is the heaven that is my hope.
I will though, admit that when I was a child, I did hope we would get to fly. :)

God bless

That's usually what draws the world to first want :p

Something Id like to speak to, the writer spoke to being satisfied with having all family there.
How can one choose to want only family?
Is my child more important than the begger who sleeps under the freeway bridge?
Is my sister more important that the woman who sits in jail?
I cannot choose one over the other, for in Jesus all are loved and wanted in heaven.
Its not that I do not love my family, its simply that if we are to be one, we cannot be divided by who is related.
For we are called to be united always, as one in Jesus.
Just something to think about.

God bless

Hi pickles, you know how the world is. They would want their friends and family to be with them, but forget their neighbors and enemies. Our hearts become like what we cling to. When Jesus' love is our love, His hate is our hate, His desire is our desire, it is true friendship in that two people share the same heart. The world does not know this, neither cares.

It is amazing how Jesus works on our hearts.
More often now when in prayer for one, it becomes prayer for all.

God bless:)

Heaven is not defined my perfection, but is defined by God.

God is the source of joy, peace and love. Even in this world, if he did not exist we could never find true love, real peace, or deep joy. I don't know about you guys, but my most joyous, peaceful, loving moments in life all have stemmed from him. Thank you God!

I remember how I felt when my kids were born and I looked at them for the 1st time. A moment that seemed to last a long time.

Looking at God the 1st time will likely remove my desire to do or think, ANYTHING else for God knows how long.

What is the purpose of this question? Most of the residents in CC are not naïve or immature in thought or action. No, I would not be satisfied. No need to expound beyond that.

Psalms 73:25-26 NASB

"Whom have I in heaven but You? And besides You, I desire nothing on earth. My flesh and my heart may fail, But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever."

All these things have now. I'm thankful but not yet satisfied. It is to be with the Lord that I long for.
