This doesn't sound like a good idea at all. Serving God for money isn't serving God at all. A "megachurch" begging for more money isn't doing God's will. Thing is, thru chance or satan, there will be some that do prosper during this 3 month period and credit the megachurch instead of God. The other side of that is that when those that don't increase are known, people will point at that church and slam our belief in God. I see nothing good coming from such a spectacle.

Making the decision to give, the church says, could lead to “unbelievable momentum” that invigorates’ its members lives. But if parishioners don’t see the benefits paying off after three months passes, they’re able to get their money back in full.

Matt 6:24 "No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and Wealth."

I think it is important to see exactly what inspires this "Call for Money" is it borne of self righteous greed to fund some fancy sound system, and state of the art band equipment, or is it borne from the need to push it back into the community.

I had a look at the link and it appears to me that the leaders of this Mega Church is somehow Bargaining on behalf of the parishioners that God will provide, not taking into account, that people, as human as we are come with expectations. This movement is creating expectations in each individual, false expectations too. What if God's "Return Investment" is not monitory value, but restoration of a family or a marriage? What if it is not within the 3 months probationary period?

I get very skeptical about these things, and I pray that the movement as far fetched as it seems is inspired by God and not man's greed. And if its not inspired by God, they will stand guilty under - 2 Peter 2:1-3 "But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, and will bring swift destruction on themselves. 2 Many will follow their unrestrained ways, and the way of truth will be blasphemed because of them. 3 They will exploit you in their greed with deceptive words. Their condemnation, pronounced long ago, is not idle, and their destruction does not sleep."

well at least this is marginally more honest than the churches that just say 'give us your life savings and if you don't see any improvement in your life then it is all your fault and we have no liability for your loss of money'

Maybe if they concentrated on the Gospel and biblical truth, giving would be out of a willing heart...but that don't 'grow' churches.

......no..........but giving does help to sustain churches and their duty to do the work of the Kingdom....... :)

Jesus was a recipient of the "gifts" of others in order to sustain His Gospel.......

and, regardless of what others think, the Apostle Paul was ALSO a recipient of "giving" to sustain him......

....oops......need to add, not defending the megachurch thingy........just saying that "giving," "tithing" is OK!

The one that greatly disturbs me is when a gift, moneys, will bring a special prayer for the giver.
I wish I could recall the scripture, I do think it was Paul, maby Peter who spoke to paying for prayers, blessings as being an abomination.
But not sure, maby another here can recall it better than I. :) Hope hope!

I agree with that, and can't think of the particular scripture.............BUT..........goodness............WE DON'T give/tithe to receive "special prayers" ............... anyone who does that is not giving....................they are attempting to "purchase" a blessing from God................

giving/tithing should be done with the same love as is charity...........NOT EXPECTING ANYTHING in return...........

Ive seen a few TV evangelists say this, I quickly change the channel when I see it.
Ussually it is seen when looking for something uplifting on TV, as I dont ussually watch these evangelist programs.
It breaks my heart though to see it, when one considers those decieved, then there are the victems as well.

Praise God that Jesus is our good shepard, for He will look out for those who seek Him. :)

A true minister of the gospel will get a job
because he loves his flock

2 Th 3:10 For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.
2 Th 3:11 For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies.
2 Th 3:12 Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread.
2 Th 3:13 But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing.
2 Th 3:14 And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed.

Acts 8:18-23: "[SUP] [/SUP]And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles' hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money, [SUP] [/SUP]Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost.
[SUP] [/SUP]But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money.
[SUP] [/SUP]Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of God.
[SUP] [/SUP]Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee.
[SUP] [/SUP]For I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity."
