This came as a question last night when watching the news.
They were reporting about how churches, that were used for graduations, were now required to cover the cross or any religious signs.

On one hand, one could say this does not matter for holding any sign as valued, well, one could consider it an idol.

On the other hand, it could be seen as well that the church is denying Jesus, so to make money renting out the church for these events.

Nomally I do not worry much about worldly things, but when seeing this, it felt as though the churches were being asked to deny Jesus, and it disturbed me.

Please share your thoughts on this, as it is something that does disturb one when one considers the implications of denying Jesus.

Saddly, many churches are doing alot of things lately that deny the truth, so to deny Jesus might not be much of a step.

I'm just glad that the true church body are those who are made one in Jesus. :)

Looking at Scripture:

Matthew 10:32) Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.
33 .) But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.
34 .) Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
35 .) For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
36 .) And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.
37 .) He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.
38 .) And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.
39 .) He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.

Denying Him that bought them. The Greek for denying means to renounce or repudiate his teachings by twisting it for gain.

The eradication of crosses from public places and graduation events is probably something that the pious crowd who detest that people are wearing or in other ways using crosses publicly would cheer. Its the result of what so called tolerant demo(n)cracy and multiculturalism brings to ya...also in the western world Islam is moving its positions onward. Its coming to your hometown. About denying Jesus, sadly it happens in many ways. Including those who profess Him but yet deny that what Jesus did on the cross is not really enough to save sinners. My two cents.

Wonderful idea! I have read news stories showing how government is taking the same kind of steps Hitler did on his rise to power, but I have never written down the specifics. There is still time for Christians to act, but you are right, we need to list specifics with names and locations. I read of a chapel in Massachusetts being forced to perform same sex marriages, for instance, or of someone sued for discrimination because of religious belief. I didn't write down the names, times, or places, I should have.

I lived in a state funded retirement home for awhile. The manager told us that we were not to send Christmas cards to each other if they referred to Christ, but I did not ask for the original documents behind this ruling.

In the Old Testament we are given specifics of history of our world. Prophets then explain how God reacts to certain actions. The New Testament usually just gives the principles we are to live by. Always, when leaders of a nation act for us, it shows that the people of that nation are held responsible, too. It also shows that how the people themselves live has effect on the government. An example is when some of the people of Judah accepted the temples to idols that government asked for, they all were exiled to Babylon.

Our government is taking over things that only belong to God, we will suffer. Already, there is a movement to get pastors to agree not to interfere with a government ruling. Government has no right to make laws on matters belonging to God like abortion and same sex relationships. We have prayer flags all over town from other religions, yet we are not allowed our own religious symbols, like copies of the ten commandments.

I know many don' have the time or patience, but the 'new/age' bibles
have a mission, and that is, to eliminate our dear Lord's name, 'Jesus Christ',
from their 'new/versions'.

this 'movement' is 'definitel'y going to influence people that are new to the Faith.

Amos 8:11.
Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD:

To deny Jesus basically means to refuse to accept the reasons for having Jesus as savoir in the first place. It's just people hardening their heart because noone wants their dirty deeds brought to light. I'tll all eventually collapse in on itself. There's nothing hidden that won't be known and that thats spoken of in secret will be shouted on the rooftops.

Just the way it is.

I've found a solution for the removal of crosses from public places. Replace them with 100 praying Christians. 2 Chronicles 7:14 will become a much more powerful symbol in their place.

Both sides are being contradictory.

One side is saying..."Hey I want to have graduation in a church."...Yet then they're like..."Cover up the cross."

Hello, if you don't like crosses, then don't hold events in churches!

The other side is all like..."We glory in the cross because we're Christians."...Yet they're like..."Sure we'll cover the cross for some mammon."

HELLO!! IF YOU GLORY IN THE CROSS DON'T COVER IT UP TO GET SOME MAMMON.

Good grief to both sides.
