I'm curios - I see so many here, especially in bible Discussion forums, who are really persistent when it comes to making their opinions and views count, 99.9% this results in an endless debate with accusations going back and forth...

How many of you have ever stepped back and considered "Hey, perhaps I'm not always right"?

I'd like to know, maybe you can show us another side of your opinionated self?

2 Tim 2:24
And the Lord's servant must not be quarrelsome but kind to everyone, able to teach, patiently enduring evil...

And this ... is the KEY to it all :

James 3:17 But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere.

Yet... some of you come on these forums and boy, do you get feisty...

You are absolutely right Clay, I have pointed this out to a few members. In a biblical discussion, when two individuals have differing ideas, one or both of them tend to start attacking each others character. It is no longer a discussion of beliefs, but a discussion of each other. Only by pride cometh contention. When you begin to insult the individual, its your pride getting in the way. I have been in a discussion with a user on here and he pointed out a flaw that made and I apologized. Its that simple.

When you know what you believe is absolute truth, you don't have to insult other people to try to convince them. Truth will always prevail. We must earnestly contend for the faith, but we are doing it to convert souls to Jesus Christ. You are not going to do that by degrading them because they don't believe what you believe. The apostle Paul said, "Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we PERSUADE men." He did say we BASH men.

well, I think I can admit when i'm wrong. but to hopefully answer this question for you: a lot of people on here believe in perfectionism. so if you think you have to be perfect, which no on is, you can never admit you are wrong. because if you were wrong about something, you would not be perfect. so they never, ever admit you are wrong because it would destroy their belief
system. worship God, not a belief system. read the Bible, do not just pluck out verses that back up your system.
hope this helps.

Yes, I believe that we should be very patience in handling people of another religious sect, like Catholics, Mormons, Baptist, and every other Christian's sect. In the scriptures, they have had problems uniting Christians of another sect, like the Hellenistic Jews, were quarreling against the Hebraic Jews. They didn't had told the ones that have converted from Hellenistic (The ones that had kept celebration of Yule or you can say Christmas) from the ones whom had kept the Hebrew traditions to separate and start their own religious sect. They'd slowly spoon fed them patiently.

Yes, there are times when this is good advice and all should take it to heart.........That being said however, there are times when one MUST take a FIRM stand for Truth, and if that means being "feisty......." then so be it...........

Not for nothing, but when confronted with false teachers, Jesus WAS NOT a pushover......... far from it.......

just saying

Yeah, Jesus started hitting the disciples on the heads because they couldn't see that who He is; they were passing around false information about who He is, but Peter. I guess it takes time and patience to wait for them to come to the knowledge.

Matthew 7:7 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.

It is like the one dude who said....

I thought I was wrong once, but I made a mistake.......

It is a difficult thing to swallow pride and admit error...

Adam<-----the woman that you gave me
Eve<----It was the snakes fault.....
Most People<------Not me, I am never wrong as I am always right and my opinion is the top opinion and everybody else is (stoopid)<--yeah I know how to spell it!
