Default Has anyone been affected by evil spirits while having acupuncture?

    I'm considering trying some acupuncture.

    Some christians advise against it.

I understand that the practice originates from unbiblical eastern philosophies, and some of this crazy eastern stuff actually involves conjuring evil spirits, but the practice itself appears to have proven medicinal value without a spiritual dimension to it.

I'm just wanting to know whether anyone has had acupuncture, and whether you were affected by dark forces during or after the process, whether your faith or walk with God was affected, etc.

    Thanks.

While I'd personally say there's no spiritual danger to accupuncture, there is one concern I have: if you go in with the mindset that it might affect your faith and be detrimental to your spirituality, then it might. Worry and anxiety can beget more worry and anxiety.

Hi Sharp, I have had many accupuncture treatments. I always praise God and pray while having them as it is not the accupuncture that is my concern but the spiritual belief of the one giving it. You could also bring good praise music to listen to.
I believe it is an oppertunity to witness to another, but test the person as many that give these treatments are involved in a spiritual self belief.
I did have very good results with accupuncture.

I think so, but I don't know what it is. Something to do with nerves/blood flow/pain detection?

Everyone I have spoken to says it works. And if there is no possibility of spiritual attacks, I'm gonna give it a try!

I'd love to get my nails done but our local salon proudly displays a budhist shrine beside their front door. so I bite my nails instead.

I agree with whoever said it at the beginning of the thread - if it's going to be a stumbling block for you, then you're better off not doing it. You don't want to feel guilty afterward - which would mean you sinned according to Romans 14.

Personally, I've never tried it. I can't stand the idea of having needles in me even though they "supposedly" do not hurt at all if done correctly. My parents have tried it and it works for them. But I don't see anything evil about it. But for all the arguments against or for acupuncture, check out this thread: Proof God Heals Cancer . Hopefully, you can better informed for both sides of the argument.

The QUESTION is WHY, having the knowledge that accupunture has Eastern Religious roots and the counsel of many (Proverbs 15:22
Without consultation, plans are frustrated,But with many counselors they succeed.) tells you not to do it, would think to do it??
There is a spirit behind accuncture...a demonic spirit. The whole concept BYPASSES GOD in the healing process. It is a form of idolatry.

Take it from there. You will do things God's way....or not. This link might help you get a better perspective:

I already read that website. Its one of the few common-sense articles on the web about it. It doesn't actually advise against it, but to use discernment.

Its all well and good to say acupuncture is demonic, but have you had acupuncture?

As I said, I'd like to hear from peope who have had acupuncture.

p.s. western medicine also "bypasses God".

    Hi Sharp,

I've done a little travelling and a little research and I’ve learned that there are some practices which may seem quite harmless on the surface, but can represent a way through which the enemy of our souls can gain a foothold.

You've probably already done a minimal amount of research into this, and so you're probably already aware that the belief in its effectiveness is based on the belief in man's ability to manipulate metaphysical energy. This is deeply rooted in Zang Fu or in other words, Yin Yang. The belief is, that every organ in the body is either Zang or Fu, (Yin or Yang). There are Yin organs and Yang organs, which is determined using a chart showing the 12 'Meridians' or different areas of the body. The belief is that with the use of acupuncture needles, placing them for a specified period of time, it unblocks the flow of energy.

The effectiveness of this particular type of therapy may very well have an affect, but there are many practices that are successful in producing relief from ailments, but are rooted in idolatrous belief systems.

I fully believe that there are natural substances which can facilitate healing or preserve a person’s state of wellness, however, when the beliefs about these treatments and medicines cross into the spiritual realm, it is often impossible to measure the detrimental effects.

When I first used a Ouija board as a kid, there were no discernable demonic presences, or spiritual influences, but I have often wondered if whether certain problems, habits and struggles occurring in my life, occurring at a later time, were directly related to a door that I'd willingly and ignorantly opened long ago.

Naivety is never an excuse which justifies indulgence into the practices of other religions. I encourage you to do as much research as you can and then ask yourself if this is a natural method of healing with a proven health value, or man's personal interpretation of the spiritual make-up of man, and his peceived ability to manipulate the physical based on that interpretation.

Stop biting your nails and go to that nail salon. When you get there say this, 'Hello, I am Marcia and I am here to get my nails done and to tell you about the love of my Saviour who died and gave Himself for me. Now, who is going to do my nails? It's called, the off guard approach, when they least expect it. You establish yourself right away and they won't turn you away because they want your business. So you have an audience and the love of God to meet their need deep down inside. You can win them over or sow a seed in their heart, because you are a Spirit-filled woman that has the light of God.

They worship a false god that has no power to save their soul from hell. You can even get bold and tell them that their life is like a vapour, here one minute and gone the next. Tell them that this is the day of their salvation, so look to Christ and be saved from the wrath of God and receive forgiveness for your sins. Then look at them and smile and don't apologize for a thing, but make sure you get your nails done and leave a good tip. Make a godly impression on them and they will talk for weeks about what you said and the next time you go they probably will have some questions. Don't let a language barrier stop or hinder you and make sure your expectation in from the Lord. This is a thus saith Shad.

It is medicinal and it would be fine if you had it...the use of herbal rememdies, yoga and meditation all have some unbiblical backgrounds and uses too, but does not mean that it's evil. I meditate, do yoga and use herbal remedies often. Meditation is excellent for your blood pressure, heart, stress etc...and yoga is wonderful for building strength and keeping your joints healthy...very sadly, a lot of Christians are afraid of these techniques because people of darkness use them as well and for the wrong reasons, but think of it this way...they use other things that we as Christians do every day for evil purposes too...pray about it and listen for what the Holy Spirit tells you..

Accupunction is a science...research it in depth...I've never had it, but many people say it has helped them...but then again you get the few that tell you it didn't work.

Songster, we ARE energy. Stress managment is a form of bettering our energy flow too...have you ever researched the human body, because you will find that the idea of energy flow is very real. Everything is energy...

The Ouija board is a very dangerous tool to contact evil spirits and I would never ever have one so I agree with you there, but do you not realize that through simple relaxation or other activities you can also come in contact with demonic forces?

When Sharp goes for his treatments he will know whether or not the place is evil...as they would be praying over him etc...this is for medical purposes the majority of the time and he will most likely be in a clinical atmosphere. If they dim the lights it will most likely be to quiet the eyes, mind and body...just like what happens when we go to bed at night.

I respect your veiws on a lot of things, but there seems to be a lot of fear in this post you have made...of course be aware of the evil that exists and know that demons have ways of making an entrance into our lives, but we can't be so afraid of them that we pass up health resources that God has given us all because some use them for evil. People use chickens for satan worship and pagans use eggs to honor the goddess of fertility...should we do away with chickens?

Sharp: WHY would I have accupuncture when I believe it to be wrong? No, I have not had and will not have accupuncture.

While waiting for a response to my post, I wanted to comment on the website posted by 'oopsies' .

The danger here is not the immediate sensation of spiritual influences suddenly encroaching upon ones life. Many individuals I've talked to on this site are not only unfamiliar with spiritual discernment but many are not familiar with the contents of the bible, and still others change the word of God until it reflects more of a 'self help' guide, and this they do in the name of making it seem more practical (or palatable). Some practice a type of philosophy which is summarized by, 'what you can't see can't hurt you' . There is some type of an assumption that we are somehow miraculously and automatically protected from every type of attack. Not even the Word of God supports this. The danger is, that the enemy deceives and gains a foothold, taking full advantage of the Christian's naivety.

In the recommended website there is also mention of core doctrinal beliefs, which included magic and divination. In order to use acupuncture as a form of therapy, you need a professional. This website states that most of these professionals practice Taoism.

For those who advocate acupuncture, please provide the biblical reference which encourages christians to be actively involved in balancing their 'lifeforce'. Please support the Yin Yang/ Zang Fu theory as it pertains to the biblical understanding of the body, soul and spirit. Simply because the results of acupuncture, tao magic, wiccan magic, crystal use, or laying stones on the body, in accordance with the Chakra chart, produce positive effects, this should be no indication that these practices are safe.

Typically when one rejects the world's philosophies and false religions, those who advocate such practices label the rest of society as being fearful, as in the case of homosexuality and homophobia. But I believe that Christians who avoid such practices are in no way fearful, but watchful.

This is a direct quote from the referenced website:

" Most acupuncture practitioners genuinely believe in the tao/yin-yang philosophy that is at the origin of acupuncture"

I just thought I'd provide an update.

I had acupuncture yesterday, and the lady administering it turned out to be a christian.

My injury has improved slightly and I do not think I have been affected by evil spirits.

    Cheers.

Thats good to hear. I understand there are many christians now learning to do this because of its scientific medical value.
We have someone in our area that does tis and I hope to continue treatment with them.
I had to stop going to the other place, not do to the accupunterest but the person that ran the natural treament facillity.
The atmosphere was becoming far to spirity for my faith.
I senced that my presance , because of my faith, was causing them to become angry. Or better said what was with them.
