so what happened when Isreal sinned and taken captive ?
“For the children of Israel walked in all the sins of Jeroboam which he did;
“Therefore the [Eternal] was very angry with Israel, and removed them out of his sight:
there was none left but the tribe of Judah only” (2 Kings 17:18).
-only Judah remained
Israel began to be “carried away out of their own land to Assyria” (2 Kings 17:23).
“And I will wait upon the Lord, that hideth his face from the house of Jacob ….” (Isaiah 8:17)
-God hide his face from them, striped of name, heritage, idenity.
-Isreal became slaves, then lost to the world, dispersed with there captures.
by deforce from God,thus becoming the lost 10 tribes, of Isreal.
-she was being punished by stripes of men.
but in Gods calender not romes, punishment for disobeying,
you have to see what time frame punishment would last.
-God swore by himself he would uphold everything he said about promises.
go back and add them all up from abram to egypt and lots are missing.
15Though thou, Israel, play the harlot, yet let not Judah offend;
that faithless one, Israel, how she … played the harlot? …
[A]nd her false sister Judah saw it. She saw that for
all the adulteries of that faithless one, Israel,
I had sent her away with a decree of divorce;
yet her false sister Judah did not fear, but she too went and played the harlot
Faithless Israel has shown herself less guilty than false Judah” (Jeremiah 3:6-11).
-this gives no one right to slander the jews or Jerusalem,a curse said would follow.
if not for davids sake, and Gods Holy name we would not even see them like isreal.
-Jeremiahs strange commision comes in after isreal was removed..
first he tried to warn judah to repent and turn from evil but failed.
but there was way more then just that he did.
1The words of Jeremiah the son of Hilkiah, of the priests
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,” the Eternal said to him,
“and before you were born I consecrated you;
-only a few have ever had this specal privlage, who where the others?.
“Behold, I do not know how to speak, for I am only a youth.”
I appointed you a prophet to the nations” (Jeremiah 1:5).
“See,” said God, “I have set you this day over nations and over kingdoms,
to pluck up and to break down, to destroy and to overthrow, to build and to plant”
-what nations and kingdoms, to move around change, then replant ?
the Eternal said to Jeremiah: “Have you seen what she did,
I will remove Judah also out of my sight, as I have removed Israel,
and will cast off this city Jerusalem which I have chosen,
and the house of which I said, My name shall be there” (2 Kings 23:27).
130 year after Isreal lost and long gone, judah goes captive.
-none of the verses below say anything about house of Isreal.
Then rose up the chief of the fathers of Judah and Benjamin,
and the priests, and the Levites, with all them whose spirit God had raised,
to go up to build the house of the Lord which is in Jerusalem.
Now when the adversaries of Judah and Benjamin heard that the children of the captivity
builded the temple unto the Lord God of Israel;Ezra 4:1 (KJV)
Then all the men of Judah and Benjamin gathered themselves together unto Jerusalem Ezra 10:9 (KJV)
-So far as the world knows, the last king to sit on that throne of David was Zedekiah of Judah,
but God promised David would never to want a man to sit on his thrown.
Then the king of Babylon slew the sons of Zedekiah in Riblah before his eyes:
also the king of Babylon slew all the nobles of Judah. Moreover he put out Zedekiah’s eyes,
and bound him with chains, to carry him to Babylon” (Jeremiah 39:1-7).
Then he put out the eyes of Zedekiah; and the king of Babylon bound him in chains,
and carried him to Babylon, and put him in prison till the day of his death.(Jeremiah 52:11)
1)king of Babylon slew all the sons of Zedekiah who were heirs to the throne of David.
2)slew all the nobles of Judah so as to leave no possible heirs for that throne.
3)putting out Zedekiah’s eyes, king who sat on David’s throne,taken to Babylon where he died in prison.
4)the throne of David ceased, with no possible heirs, or sons, to keep the dynasty alive.
-a former king of Judah was at that time in the dungeons of Babylon,
-that we can find Jesus line from Jehoiakim,
And after they were brought to Babylon, Jechonias begat Salathiel; and Salathiel begat Zorobabel;
-Jesus did not take posession of davids throne when here on earth the first time.
that Evil–merodach king of Babylon in the year that he began to reign
did lift up the head of Jehoiachin king of Judah out of prison;
“As I live, saith the Lord, though Coniah [Jeconiah] the son of Jehoiakim king of Judah
were the signet upon my right hand, yet would I pluck thee thence”! (Jeremiah 22:24)
Thus saith the Lord, Write ye this man childless, a man that shall not prosper in his days:
for no man of his seed shall prosper, sitting upon the throne of David, and ruling any more in Judah.(22:30)
-to remove the crown of David from the ruling line of Pharez
and place it on the head of a son of Zarah.
-but a royal line straight from David had to remain in the area,
so Christ could be born of David’s seed yet several hundred years in the future.
-king of Persia made a decree giving him the governorship, not the crown of a king, And Zorobabel
to return to Jerusalem and rebuild the house of God, the temple, seventy years after the captivity.
but there is lots more to be fullfilled, and to post on Jeremiahs commision,
he did not finish it till his hair grew white and was old age.
