this is complicated material.

Regardless of what anyone says, there is no "practical" or "experiential" difference on which side you fall theologically.

To man, it truly seems and feels that it is us choosing.
From God's Word it says that He chooses.

Does it need to be either one or the other? or can it be both?

Rather than either/or
I believe it is both/and

John 15:16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.

Matthew 24:22 “If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive, but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened.

Matthew 24:24 For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.

Matthew 24:31 And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.

John 10:26 but you do not believe because you are not my sheep.

John 10:27 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.

Joshua 24:14) Now therefore fear the LORD, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve ye the LORD.
15 .) And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

now, go away little troll.............

Yeah you totally twisted that scripture. He didn't say choose to serve God, He said choose between the false gods over her or the false gods over there, but me and my house will serve the Lord

I believe God chose us. Unless we had been reborn, we would never have desired to know God, in fact we hated Him and we're at war with Him. Until He birthed us and gave us a heart for Him. He said you have not chosen me but I have chosen you. And ephesians says the elect were chosen before the foundation of the world.

Matthew 10:38) And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.

Luke 9:23) And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

They are twisted in your head. Jesus also said none come to me unless the father who sent me draw Him, and also none come to me unless it was GIVEN to him by the father. And All that the father giveth me I will in no likewise cast out . So yeah you twist God's word horribly in your own head only because God hasn't given it to you yet, and may not unless He forknew you before the foundation of the world

When I came to know Christ, it sure felt like I chose Him, I turned my life over to Him, I made that confession of faith. As I mature in my walk, I see that God had chosen me all along. So, it's really both.

I hope so, but I may not be, God can justly put me in hell and I would deserve it
